Following the principle of seizing the opportunity when the enemy is weak, this chance definitely couldn’t be missed.
Moreover, since this cave was about to collapse, they couldn’t go in.
They would have to find a way to force the giant snake out.
Nan Muran didn’t hesitate to begin using her psychic energy to suppress the snake. She was pleasantly surprised to find that the psychic energy she had used up the day before had fully recovered to its optimal state, and there was even a faint sign of a breakthrough.
Once she broke through, psychic powers at level five? Just the thought made Nan Muran excited enough to jump.
At the same time, the vitality release from her left wrist caused Xiaobai and Xiaoliu to attach to the ground and wildly spread toward the deepest part of the snake’s lair.
The giant snake, which had already suffered a loss of several hundred minions and discarded its armor, was seething with anger and planning to destroy the entire village for revenge after it had rested.
But to its surprise, it found that those humans had come back.
How could these humans recover so quickly after just one day and night?
And those two disgusting vines that had already slithered into its lair.
The snake aimed precisely and swung its tail without holding back, directly striking toward Xiaobai and Xiaoliu.
Nan Muran controlled the vines to reverse direction, heading straight for the pile of crystal cores behind the snake. She couldn’t understand where the snake had gotten so many treasures from, no wonder it was leveling up so quickly.
Among the crystal cores, there were several fruits she had never seen before. She wondered if they were from this mountain.
The eagle, seeing the situation, knew that their group couldn’t help much.
With a quick glance, he took out a few grenades and handed them to Nan Muran. He was sure that the snake would come out if it didn’t want to get blown up.
Jiawu and Si Ye gave him a thumbs-up, truly sinister.
Nan Muran thought this idea was not bad, so she immediately controlled Xiaoliu and Xiaobai to gather the snake’s treasures and head outside, while using her psychic power to guide the grenades toward the snake’s position in the depths of the cave.
After a few failed attacks, the giant snake saw the two vines and branches retreating and breathed a sigh of relief, only to see several small black spheres appear in the air.
Then, one by one, the black spheres fell and exploded with a loud bang.
The second, third, fourth… dozens of grenades followed, and after a series of explosions, the stones on the cave’s walls were shaking and on the verge of collapsing.
The giant snake cursed in its heart, “These damn humans.”
But these things… it seemed like it had seen them before. There were many such objects in the corner of the outermost cave, though it never knew how to use them. Now it was clear.
Looking around at the situation, it dared not stay longer in the cave and quickly began to move outward.
Just as it moved, an invisible force began to drag its body. Desperately, it realized it couldn’t break free, and was eventually pulled out of the cave entirely.
However, as it neared the exit, the snake used its enormous body to drag out all the black grenades it had found earlier.
“It’s a grenade, retreat!” Si Ye immediately recognized the grenades the snake had dragged out.
The topmost grenade had already had its safety pin pulled.
“I can’t believe it, does it want to die?” the eagle said in disbelief.
Xiaoliu and Xiaobai immediately shot out from Nan Muran’s wrist and grabbed the five people, pulling them back at full speed.
Behind them, the sounds of destruction and explosions kept coming. The entire cave shook as massive stones collapsed.
Even the ground around them began to erupt with continuous explosions. The situation was clearly far more destructive than just one box of grenades.
Watching the cave erupt inside and out, Nan Muran and the others were left stunned.
“This snake? Using grenades?” the eagle asked uncertainly.
“A level six mutated beast is still quite clever,” Nan Muran said, though she was unsure.
A snake with brains, using grenades to blow itself up? Given the current destruction, it was likely the snake wouldn’t even have bones left. She didn’t know whether to call it clever or stupid.
What a shame for that level six crystal core.
When the explosions finally stopped and the mushroom clouds, flames, and scorched earth settled, the eagle looked at them and asked, “Should we go take a look?”
“We’ll go ahead,” Si Ye and the eagle immediately drew their knives and led the way, fearing there might be dud grenades and hoping to avoid injury.
The five of them approached the cave’s entrance, which had been completely sealed by giant rocks, and under one of the massive stones, they saw a charred section of the giant snake.
There were also scattered mutated scales on the ground.
Nan Muran picked up a scale, deep in thought. “What if…”
“This is good stuff,” the eagle said, eyeing the well-preserved snake scales with excitement.
“Let’s take it back,” Si Ye, seeing their intention, squatted down and started helping.
“This snake is so funny. Is this a self-detonation? Sister Nan?” the eagle asked while searching for the scattered scales.
Nan Muran paused for a moment, uncertain about the snake’s thinking. “Maybe… it just died stupidly?”
It might also be because of ignorance. Lack of knowledge can be terrifying! Even animals are the same.
The others chuckled but didn’t say anything. Even Qi Jin visibly relaxed. He suddenly felt that following these older brothers and sisters was an incredibly happy thing.
Suddenly, Nan Muran took out a fruit from her space and waved it in front of Qi Jin. “Here, have this.”
Although this little guy had invincible foresight, it was best for him to hide it. It would be better if he awakened an attack-based ability to avoid drawing attention.
The reason she thought this way was that the veteran family had kept Qi Jin’s abilities well-hidden. Except for their own family, no one in the village knew about his abilities.
Qi Jin looked at the orange-red fruit, wanting it but holding back. “Sister, this fruit is very precious. Da Huang gave it to me before, which is why I could see what happened later.”
“I know. It’s specially for you. Don’t worry, eat it.”
When they descended the mountain, they found that the village entrance was crowded with people, including Han Yingtang and Cheng Cheng, who were anxiously waiting.
Among the crowd, the most conspicuous was the veteran family at the front. Their eyes were filled with concern, but when they saw the five of them safely appear, it turned to tears of relief.
The explosions on the mountain had been deafening, and they had already lost hope, only to be filled with uncontrollable worry until they saw them on the mountain path.
But when the others saw the situation of the five, they quietly stepped back.
Some out of respect, but more because of fear.
In the village, the outspoken daughter-in-law of the Chen family had her tongue cut off early in the morning while in bed.
Even her husband had been beaten up, his face covered in bruises. Everyone knew it was them.
Some people thought the Chen family’s daughter-in-law got what she deserved, but others felt the group was too cruel.
Nan Muran didn’t care at all. Their Star assault team had too many things to do. If they paid attention to the opinions of these irrelevant people, it would be exhausting.
That night, Fifteen and Xiang Xi returned, along with someone who had brought a surprise for Nan Muran.
