Apocalypse Prepper Gone Lazy Chapter 89

Chapter 89 – Reinforcements Have Arrived

Ye Mianmian suddenly rushed forward, pulled out a can of pepper spray from behind, and sprayed it straight into the man’s eyes with a series of sharp bursts.

“Ahh! You b*tch!”

The man instinctively covered his eyes. Jiang Yuan wasn’t about to miss the opportunity—she slashed down with her Tang sword.

He tried to retreat, but still got sliced in the shoulder.

His scream was deafening. Jiang Yuan liked to swing at a diagonal angle, so this attack didn’t kill him outright.

Two other men nearby quickly ran over and supported the injured man, helping him back.

“Third Bro, are you okay?”

“Kill those two b*tches for me!”

But the two men, seeing Jiang Yuan and Ye Mianmian’s fierce combat ability, didn’t dare act rashly.

“Go get them!”

The man called “Third Bro” grew furious seeing his lackeys hesitate.

Under pressure, the two men finally took a couple steps forward.

They began shouting from behind the cafeteria-style tables.

“You two vicious whores—so ruthless! You know this is illegal, right?”

Jiang Yuan knew they currently held the upper hand in terms of momentum.

“Hmph. I already said you could have half the supplies, but you idiots didn’t take the chance.

Now I’ve changed my mind—you’re not getting a single scrap.”

And not just that—she wasn’t going to let any of the three live, either.

She didn’t say that part out loud—not because she feared alerting them, but because she was already planning her next moves.

Ye Mianmian was also doing much better mentally now, especially after that clean fight earlier.

Her coordination with Jiang Yuan had been solid. That was enough.

They needed to strike while the iron was hot. These people could not be allowed to escape.

“Enough talk. Kill them!”

Third Bro had recovered a bit, but the effects of the pepper spray were still strong.

Even though he could barely open his eyes now, the burning pain hadn’t subsided.

“Tonight, I’ll use your blood to consecrate my blade!”

He lunged forward.

“If that’s a watermelon knife you’re using, I think you’d better save yourself the trouble!”

Jiang Yuan twirled her Tang sword twice, drawing elegant arcs through the air.

The cold gleam of the blade reflected menacingly, and the gust of wind it stirred was palpable.

“We’re three grown men—you think we can’t handle two little girls? What a joke!”

Jiang Yuan recognized this for what it was—him trying to boost morale for his side. She couldn’t allow it.

“There were six of you, weren’t there? I already killed three, didn’t I?”

“I’m going all out! For the supplies, let’s take them together!”

That triggered something in the other two, and they each picked up their weapons.

“Yeah! Screw it, let’s do it!”

All three charged at once, weapons in hand.

Jiang Yuan was a little anxious, but this was no time to hesitate.

Though they came in a wave, there was still a front-and-back order to their attack.

As the first one came within range, she swung her Tang sword quickly.

But this time, they were prepared and blocked her blow directly.

With a table between them, she couldn’t use her legs to kick either.

Ye Mianmian was also locked in hand-to-hand combat and couldn’t break free to help.

“Ah—!”

Jiang Yuan twisted the blade and hacked down hard.

She knew this wasn’t how a Tang sword was meant to be used, but this angle gave her maximum strength.

Clang—

Third Bro’s knife was cleaved clean in two. The Tang sword was sharp indeed.

He was stunned. Jiang Yuan didn’t waste a second—she turned her blade sideways and slashed it into his stomach.

A hot spray burst out, splattering across her face.

It was blood—Third Bro’s blood.

Just moments ago, he had been full of bluster. Now he looked down at his belly in disbelief.

In extreme fear, it seemed, one could forget pain entirely.

Jiang Yuan didn’t give him a chance to recover. She kicked over the table separating them.

Caught off guard, Third Bro stumbled back two steps and collapsed heavily.

If he wasn’t dead, he likely wouldn’t survive for long.

No time to think—Ye Mianmian was in trouble.

She had been overwhelmed by two attackers and had fallen.

“Ahh!”

Jiang Yuan rushed in and slashed at the man’s back. Although the blow landed, his thick clothing protected him from major injury.

He turned and saw her enraged, murderous expression—and that made him snap too.

“You bit—!”

He swung his weapon wildly, with no technique at all, forcing her to retreat.

She took two steps back, then raised her blade to strike back.

It was a fight to the death—both sides had blood in their eyes now.

“Girl—!”

“Jiang Yuan—!”

“Ahh!”

A piercing scream rang out, followed by the man howling in pain as he clutched his shoulder.

Jiang Yuan didn’t let up. While he was distracted, she stabbed him in the abdomen, twisted the knife, and pulled it out.

“Mianmian!”

The man attacking Ye Mianmian had been winning—but now, seeing reinforcements arrive, he panicked.

Song Yi had entered from the door, throwing rocks at the attackers. He, Zhang Kaiyang, and Jiang Zhizhi had all rushed over.

They surrounded the dining area of the snack stall.

Ye Mianmian saw the man hesitate and used all her strength to kick him in the groin.

Having just been knocked down earlier, she was positioned perfectly for the strike.

Jiang Yuan didn’t hesitate either. She followed up with another brutal kick—dropping him.

Ye Mianmian scrambled to her feet and began hammering him with the baseball bat.

“That’s for kicking me! I’ll beat you to death!”

The man was in too much pain to even beg. He just curled up on the ground, trying to protect his head.

“Mianmian, stop. Give him a quick death.”

The man on the floor, once full of hope, now had terror in his eyes.

Ye Mianmian took the knife from Jiang Yuan’s hand and slowly approached.

“D-Don’t kill me. I just came out looking for food. I have two kids at home…”

Ye Mianmian didn’t flinch. He had tried to kill them earlier. If Song Yi and the others hadn’t arrived—

She and Jiang Yuan might be dead by now.

“If I let you go, would you have spared me earlier?”

She didn’t wait for a reply. She stabbed him.

He looked at her in shock, eyes full of disbelief.

She withdrew the blade and collapsed into a chair, sobbing uncontrollably.

“I was so scared, Yuan-jie… I was so scared… I killed someone… I killed someone…”

What had happened tonight was too much for most people—especially a young girl.

Jiang Yuan calmly wiped the blood from her face and tossed the used wet wipe on the ground.

“Mianmian, don’t cry. If you hadn’t killed him, he would’ve killed you.

We had no choice. Who knows when all this madness will end?

You have to come to terms with that.”

Song Yi looked at Jiang Yuan silently. Zhang Kaiyang was visibly shaken.

Killing people… such a bloody scene… facing it head-on—how was one supposed to feel?

“These guys are all dead. The important thing is, you’re not hurt.”

“Sweetheart, you’ve been through so much. Let Dad take a look.”

“I’m fine, Dad. Really… oh right—there are two more outside!”
