Chapter 19: Murder and Disposal
When Mu Jiu drove the truck to the morgue site, she said to the two dumbfounded siblings:
“What are you staring at? Load these things into the truck. I’m taking you somewhere.”
The Gu siblings didn’t know what she planned, but obediently followed her instructions.
A total of 13 bodies—including the two shredded by chainsaws—were packed into plastic bags and carefully loaded into the rear of the truck.
Then Mu Jiu drove them all to the back entrance of the butler service hall.
The same place where photos were once staged for display.
But this time there was no need for photos—it was broad daylight.
As Mu Jiu’s heavy-duty truck slowly rolled in from a distance, the butlers on guard inside the gate had already noticed.
They quickly assembled, but since the outside temperature was unbearably low, most had to stay inside, armed and waiting.
Naturally, the butlers recognized Gu Yang sitting in the passenger seat.
They were familiar with the boy—his mother used to frequently beg Chief Chen for food.
But the driver was unfamiliar to everyone…
Seeing that the butlers wouldn’t step out into the cold, Mu Jiu found it convenient.
She backed the truck right up to the service hall’s main entrance and pressed the one-key unload button.
In an instant, the bodies tumbled out from the truck bed, rolling to a heap in front of the doors—completely blocking them.
The butlers inside panicked when they saw what exactly had been dumped.
This kind of “murder and corpse dumping”—only the butler department would dare do such things. Guests were always the victims. No one ever escaped the butlers’ grasp…
No wait—there was one: the lunatic in Villa 50!
The Mercedes-Benz truck didn’t linger. After unloading the bodies, it drove off—taking a different road back than it came.
Mu Jiu drove toward Villa 008, where the Gu siblings lived.
From a distance, she saw the villa’s gate wide open—and a body seemingly lying near the entrance…
She stopped the truck at the gate, and the siblings jumped out and rushed ahead. Mu Jiu followed them into the yard.
The woman lying at the entrance was Aunt Zhang, the Gu family’s nanny—nearly 40 years old, well-maintained, and had cared for Gu Yang and Gu Nuan since birth.
Now she lay there disheveled, bruised from head to toe, her body frozen stiff after a night in the cold.
But her eyes… refused to close in death.
The siblings didn’t linger. They dashed into the house, calling for their mother.
Villa 008 was the crown jewel of the resort. Though two stories like the rest, it was five times larger than a standard villa.
There were ten bedrooms of varying sizes, reception halls, western and Chinese kitchens, indoor and outdoor pools—it was massive.
There were several maids inside. As Mu Jiu followed the siblings inside, she saw six or seven women in uniform lying lifeless on the floor.
Their deaths were no less brutal than Aunt Zhang’s, indicating a horrifying event had occurred the night before…
One so dire that their calculating, coldly intelligent mother had apparently sacrificed herself to protect her children.
Suddenly—
“Ahh—!!” Gu Nuan’s scream echoed from upstairs.
Mu Jiu rushed up and found the siblings standing outside a guest room.
Gu Yang trembled all over. Gu Nuan was covering her mouth, tears falling rapidly. “Mom…”
When Mu Jiu stepped into the room, even she was shocked.
A woman, made up glamorously and dressed in a revealing bikini, lay motionless on the bed.
The lower half of the snow-white sheets was soaked red.
Blood had dripped onto the wool carpet below, seeping in and freezing into glittering crystals under the sunlight.
This must be the “massive hemorrhage accident” the butlers had mentioned.
So much blood—she likely bled out completely.
Mu Jiu recalled what she’d overheard in her spatial domain: “Even noble wives are the same.”
Could this mean that this woman wasn’t some “mistress” as the butlers claimed—but that it had all been a fabrication to seize control?
Looking at the two sobbing children, Mu Jiu silently walked over, picked up a blood-stained sheet from a nearby chair, and gently covered the woman’s body—sparing her further indignity.
She looked around the room.
Before the apocalypse, it must have been opulent and fully stocked.
Now? The place had been completely looted. Not even a decent chair was left, let alone supplies.
No wonder the pampered siblings had been forced to scavenge wild chestnuts and walnuts from the mountain.
They had been beaten down—completely.
“You two, carry your mother into the truck.
Later, we’ll find a peaceful place in the mountains to bury her properly, so she can rest in peace.”
Mu Jiu sighed. Now, everyone was the same—children with no parents.
The siblings listened to her without question. With their mother gone, Mu Jiu had become their only pillar of support.
They were deeply loyal. With great effort, they even carried the bodies of the villa’s maids, intending to bury them too.
This was the first time Mu Jiu had witnessed a “move” where no furniture or supplies were taken—just eight corpses.
“Sis, where are we going now?” Gu Yang asked. He really wanted to ask—“Are you taking us home with you?”
Of course not. Mu Jiu had no intention of letting anyone into her territory.
“Villa 048 is vacant—it’s directly across the road from mine. You’ll move there. That way, if anything happens, you can come to me quickly. We can look after each other.”
Maintaining distance—yet still showing kindness.
Mu Jiu saw no disappointment on their faces. At this point, having a stable place to stay was more important than anything.
She parked the truck on the road in front of her villa.
Just as she said, the siblings immediately saw Villa 048 right across from them.
“I’ll go in with you to take a look.” Mu Jiu led the way into the open gate of Villa 048.
The previous residents had run out of food a month ago. That morning, the elderly man and his son had come begging for food.
They knelt, cried, and pleaded at the gate. When she refused, they accused her of heartlessness.
Mu Jiu hated moral coercion—especially from immoral people.
They assumed she was clueless about the outside world just because she stayed indoors—but she saw and heard everything.
That father and son had, in exchange for survival, sent their elderly mother, sick wife, and young daughter to “entertain” the butlers.
One by one, the women in the house had died after those visits.
With no one left to exploit, the men finally came to beg her.
Knowing what they’d done, Mu Jiu didn’t even spare them a glance—just went back inside to train.
When she wouldn’t budge, the men cursed her ancestors at her doorstep.
Before she could slap them herself, the butlers had already dragged them off.
Later that morning, in this very villa, the father and son were beaten to a pulp.
And then… they simply vanished.
Recalling this, Mu Jiu forcefully pushed open the door to Villa 048—
And was instantly hit by the overwhelming stench of blood and decay…
