In this era where Alphas reign supreme, the idea that they were experiencing gender discrimination was nothing short of a joke. It sounded ridiculous, but every Alpha who had been ruthlessly tormented by Shen Yu had thought the same thing.

It was suffocatingly unfair. Did Shen Yu despise Alphas or something?!

News of Shen Yu leading the patrol team quickly spread through the group chat, sent gleefully by some gloating Alpha. Messages flooded in at lightning speed.

—— “Ha, acting all high and mighty? Got caught by Shen Yu? Seething much?”

Ji Laili was also in this group chat. That night in the detention room, everyone had added him.

He noticed his terminal flashing incessantly, quickly piecing together the situation from the messages. However, before he could fully grasp what was happening, the chat erupted into an argument. He skimmed through it and fell silent.

Even in this situation, they could start a fight. Truly, this bunch was nothing but troublemakers.

But now wasn’t the time for chit-chat. Ji Laili hurried to warn his roommates.

After boasting, he shot a sideways glance at the other two. “No way… You guys don’t wear gravity bands daily?”

“No wonder you think 800 kilos is tough. To me, it’s nothing.”

Roommate #2 flared up instantly. “Bullshit! Who said I don’t wear them? I wear them every damn day, even in the shower! I only took them off today because I saw you guys weren’t wearing any.”

The pressure instantly shifted to Roommate #3, the refined and scholarly-looking Alpha. He maintained a composed expression. “Then you don’t have to accommodate me. I always wear gravity bands.”

“You only keep yours on in the shower? I don’t even take mine off in the bathroom.”

“Pfft, that’s nothing. I don’t even take them off during training!”

“Liar! I saw you panting like a dying dog last time!”

“Heh, I was wearing double the weight, you fool. That’s just how I like it! You wouldn’t understand!”

The three of them locked eyes, sparks flying, ready to explode at any moment.

Ji Laili squeezed in between them, holding up his terminal. A massive holographic screen appeared, displaying the latest group chat messages in crystal clarity.

“Guys, stop arguing. The patrol squad is here. If we get too loud, we’ll lose points.”

The mention of Shen Yu’s name sobered up the three Alphas slightly. Roommate #2 muttered, “Fine, I won’t argue with you anymore. Let’s calm down.”

“Calm down? Don’t act like you’re being generous. You just don’t want to admit I’m better than you!”

The refined Alpha’s face darkened. “An Alpha should have self-awareness.”

“Hey, four-eyes, what the hell did you just say?!”

And once again, they started bickering.

Ji Laili: This feels so familiar.

Who said his roommates were cold? This place was way too lively.

Ji Laili bit into his nutrition pack, deciding to step back from the childish argument.

One of them nearly tripped over himself.

Shen Yu swiftly sidestepped the stumbling Alpha, his dark eyes turning glacial. His icy gaze alone was enough to silence the trembling patrol member, making him forget the apology he was about to stammer out.

And yet, the argument inside raged on.

“That’s nothing! I piss with 400 kilos strapped on! Still managed to arc it a full meter!”

“Success is built on the smallest details!”

“You don’t believe me? Hah, ask Egypt if they believe it!”

One of the patrol Alphas nearly teared up. Thank god, the Pharaohs have been saved!

Shen Yu’s expression remained frosty. With a dark glare, he strode toward the source of the noise, clearly ready to teach them a lesson.

Inside, completely oblivious, the argument grew even more heated.

“Ji Laili, tell me, do you believe me or him?”

Shen Yu’s hand froze mid-knock.

A familiar, muffled voice responded, “Uh… (slurp) I think I believe you more, but the big bro’s argument is pretty convincing too… (slurp)”

The other person sounded exasperated. “Why the hell are you still drinking that nasty nutrition pack?”

“Because I haven’t finished it yet, bro…” Ji Laili sighed.

“Alright, listen. If you say you believe me, I’ll cover all your nutrition packs from now on. I even have custom flavors!”

“For real?!”

His excitement was undeniable.

It was such an unexpected bonus. It was just a sentence—Ji Laili, still chewing on his nutrition pack, was about to nod enthusiastically when—

The door swung open.

Outside, a sea of Alphas stood in an oppressive formation, so many that their sheer presence was overwhelming. Yet, amid the crowd, the figure of Shen Yu stood at the forefront.

His pitch-black eyes locked onto Ji Laili.

The residual frustration, cold detachment, and loathing in his gaze quietly melted away in that instant.

The simmering irritation, the suffocating anger, and the need to destroy vanished without a trace as he stared at Ji Laili.

The senior, who could silence a room with a mere glance, now stood there quietly, exuding an eerie sense of patience.

For some reason, Ji Laili had the strange impression that Shen Yu was waiting for him to speak.

Whether it was an illusion or not, Ji Laili decided to follow his gut.

Still biting his nutrition pack, he squatted on the floor, waved his hand, and tilted his head with a bright smile. His eyes crinkled into crescents.
