Chapter 27
Lu Anning tossed and turned in bed for a long time, thinking about what expression she should make when she saw Sui Jingxing.
As a result, he didn’t come back until she fell into a deep sleep.
It’s not that he didn’t want to go back, he just wanted to wait until Lu Anning fell asleep before returning home. He was afraid that she would discover the strange thoughts he had.
Judging from the close contact over the past few days, Lu Anning is not a dull person.
On the contrary, she is very smart and has great insight.
After exhausting all his energy, he followed Jingxing back home.
“Where have you been? Why did you just come back?”
Mr. Lu, who opened the door for him, thought he was at home, but he didn’t expect that he didn’t come back until almost ten o’clock.
“There was something going on in the army, and I just went to deal with it temporarily.”
“Is it resolved?”
“It’s over.”
Mr. Lu often encountered similar situations, so he did not doubt his words. He asked him to take a shower quickly and he lay back on the bed.
Sui Jingxing went to the bathroom, took a quick cold shower, and tiptoed back to the room.
As he thought, Lu Anning had fallen asleep.
Close the door and lie outside the bed in the dark.
When Lu Anning reached out her hand, he hesitated whether to roll up the quilt and stuff it into her arms like he did in the morning.
After thinking it over again and again, he still didn’t do it.
After just a few nights, I seemed to have become accustomed to the way she hugged me while she fell asleep.
He knew that he was not opposed to it, but instead felt a little secretly happy.
He let her hold him, took the quilt to cover her stomach, and closed his eyes and fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning and repeated the same steps as yesterday and got out of bed smoothly.
“Mom, I have something to do. I won’t be home for breakfast later.”
“So urgent?”
“Um.”
“Well, go quickly, business is urgent.”
Having been a military wife for more than 20 years, Lu’s mother has long been accustomed to their sudden events.
She knew that there were usually some things about soldiers that even their families were not comfortable knowing, so she often didn’t ask too many questions.
Sui Jingxing didn’t eat breakfast at home because he wanted to go to the cafeteria to ask Political Commissar Tan to help him solve his doubts.
After the morning training, as soon as the team was disbanded, he ran to the cafeteria without stopping.
“Oh my god, what’s wrong with Deputy Colonel Sui today? Why is he running towards the cafeteria in such a hurry?”
“Are you hungry?”
“Shouldn’t you run towards home when you’re hungry?”
“Since he got married, he always goes home to eat in the morning.”
“That’s right. Are you going to pack up your breakfast and take it home?”
“I don’t know. Forget it. I’m too lazy to guess. As long as he doesn’t punish us too harshly, he can do whatever he wants.”
Sui Jingxing quickly ran to the cafeteria and saw Political Commissar Tan at the window where tofu pudding was being prepared. He immediately lined up behind him and waited until they finished to share the table.
There was only a distance of two people between the two of them. After Tan Mingyuan finished making his favorite tofu pudding, Sui Jingxing followed with his bowl.
“Wow, it’s not easy, I actually meet you today!”
Tan Mingyuan was still a little surprised to meet Sui Jingxing.
After all, he used to come very late for breakfast in the cafeteria, and after he brought his wife over, he was rarely seen in the morning.
“Your father-in-law and mother-in-law are here, why aren’t you eating at home this morning?”
“I came here specially to see you.”
“Looking for me? What’s the matter?”
“I have something I want to ask you.”
“Just ask, why are you so shy today? This is not like your decisive personality.”
He just didn’t know how to start the conversation, that’s why.
After pondering the question over and over in his mind, he found that he didn’t know where to start. Finally, he decided to briefly tell Political Commissar Tan about what had happened recently and the changes in his heart.
After hearing what he said, Tan Mingyuan on the opposite side looked at him suspiciously, as if he was looking at a fool.
“Are you still the Sui Jingxing I know?”
“Could it be that it was switched?”
“Why do I feel like there’s something wrong with your mind?”
“Is there?”
“More than that! I feel like there’s something on your brain, maybe water has gotten into it!”
“???”
He looked at Tan Mingyuan with confusion, not knowing what he meant.
“You said that you felt a little strange that your wife slept with the quilt instead of you.”
“She fell into your arms, and when you held her, your body changed. It wasn’t like your usual calm self, and you couldn’t control yourself.”
He nodded.
“What the hell are you talking about?!”
Tan Mingyuan knocked his head hard speechlessly.
“Your wife is so pretty and has a great figure. If you don’t have any reaction when you hug such a cute girl, who is your wife, I would doubt whether you are a real man!”
Of course he is a real man! And he couldn’t be more real!
“If you don’t like her sleeping with the quilt hugged, then take the quilt away and hold her in your arms! Quilts are for covering, and people are for hugging.”
“You can crumple the quilt however you want, throw it wherever you want, will it still get up and compete for your favor?”
Sui Jingxing shook his head.
“That’s it, if you want to hug her, just hug her. She’s your wife, it’s legal and reasonable for you to hug her! You silly boy!”
“You usually seem so smart and capable, but why are you like a fool when it comes to relationships?”
Tan Mingyuan felt that his understanding of Sui Jingxing needed to be strengthened.
“But we’ve only really known each other for a little over a month.”
Although I knew about Lu Anning’s existence since I was a child, we hardly ever spoke to each other and the number of times we met was very few.
He even felt that the month they spent together before Lu Anning was hospitalized was negligible because there was no communication at all.
Our true understanding of her begins when she wakes up in the hospital.
When you think about it, it’s only been a few days.
“What happened to more than a month?”
“After your Aunt Jin and I met for the first time, I went straight to the marriage registration when I came back. We only met twice before we got married, but that didn’t stop me from being attracted to her the first time we met. We’ve been married for more than 20 years now, so isn’t our relationship still the same, great?”
“We are soldiers. Due to the special nature of our profession, we don’t have as much time to spend with our partners as others do. Most couples in the military cut the Gordian knot and get married very quickly.”
“You and your wife have been living together for more than a month under the same roof, and she is so pretty. Isn’t it normal for you to like her?”
If he can remain indifferent facing a daughter-in-law who is as beautiful as the moon and flowers all day long, then his problems may be bigger than they are now!
