Chapter 33
After absorbing everything he had just seen and adjusting his mindset, Lu Anning went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
She inherited the few cooking skills of the original owner, which opened the door to her interest in cooking.
Standing in the kitchen, thinking about what to eat for lunch.
She didn’t know what Sui Jingxing liked to eat, so she could only prioritize her own preferences.
After much thought, I decided to have minced meat and green beans rice for lunch, with a soft-boiled egg on top. It would definitely be delicious.
I cooked a pot of rice first, and put a little more rice in it. If I didn’t finish it at noon today, I could save it for making egg fried rice in the evening.
Then he cut a small piece of meat and chopped it into small pieces.
Cut the washed beans into pieces about five millimeters long and set aside for later use.
Prepare the peppers, garlic and sauce, and start cooking using the small coal stove next to it.
Pour a proper amount of oil into the pan. When the pan is hot, pour in the minced meat and stir-fry, then add the sauce. Stir-fry for one minute, serve and set aside. Then pour more oil and continue to fry the beans.
She doesn’t dare to be careless when stir-frying the beans. If they are cooked through, they are delicious, but if they are not cooked through, it is another matter.
It has only been a few days since she was released from the hospital. If she goes back in, her parents will definitely think that her promise was bullshit and will definitely come back here to take her back to Beijing.
Fry the beans for a few more minutes, then add the minced meat and stir-fry evenly. There was no starch at home, so she mixed a little flour with water and poured it into the dish to thicken it.
This was a dark operation that she came up with on a whim, but luckily it didn’t go wrong.
It smells so good that I feel like drooling just by smelling it.
The beans and minced meat were out of the pan, and two eggs were taken out and started to fry soft-boiled eggs.
The first one was not fried to the right temperature and was over-cooked. Maybe Sui Jingxing doesn’t like half-cooked eggs, so this well-cooked one can be enjoyed by him.
Although the second egg was also a little over-fried, it was better than the first one. At least there was still some runny stuff in a little bit.
After Sui Jingxing finished scolding, he ignored Chengzi’s desire to talk to him and ran back to make lunch for Lu Anning, leaving Chengzi with only a vague back.
I ran to the door of my house and before I took out my key, I smelled the aroma of fried eggs.
There is no one living on the right. Mrs. Fan on the left works in a garment factory. Unless it is a holiday, they usually don’t cook at noon. It seems that Lu Anning is already cooking.
When I opened the door, the fragrance became stronger.
Entering the kitchen, Lu Anning was serving cooked rice.
“Let me do it, it’s too hot.”
Sui Jing walked over and took the rice spoon and bowl from her hands.
Lu Anning did not leave. When he was about to serve the second bowl, she gestured to him to fill less.
“You are too thin. You should eat more.”
She shook her head. Her appetite was limited and she wouldn’t be able to finish even if she took more.
“Put more in there first, and you eat first. Eat as much as you can. If you can’t finish it, I’ll help you. There won’t be any waste.”
The rice and dishes were served, and while he was serving the remaining rice, Lu Anning quickly put the second egg into his bowl without hesitation.
Sui Jingxing pretended not to notice how fast her hands were and picked up the remaining hard-boiled egg.
At the same time, I also silently remembered her preference for soft-boiled eggs.
Carrying her meal out of the kitchen, Lu Anning was about to walk into the inner room, but stopped at the door.
He had already told her to get along as friends first, so it would seem a little weird if she went back to the inner room, closed the door and ate her meal, so she finally turned around and walked towards the dining table.
Sui Jingxing, who was walking behind her, observed her movements and felt a little disappointed when he saw that she was about to enter the room.
Seeing her hesitate for a moment, not going in, and walking back to the dining table, the disappointment I had just felt disappeared completely in an instant.
I sat down at the dining table with great joy in my heart.
Instead of rushing to speak, he took a big bite of the food and tasted it before speaking, so as not to make people feel fake.
“Lu Anning, these beans are delicious when they are stir-fried like you did.”
Sui Jingxing didn’t expect her to reply, so he continued eating and talking.
“I’ve eaten beans from canteens and state-owned restaurants. They’re either watery or too soft. They’re not as delicious as yours.”
“The beans are fresh and tender now, and paired with minced meat and chili, they are very tasty. The more you eat them, the more delicious they become. I feel like I can have another bowl of rice at noon today.”
Sui Jingxing used to be a person who didn’t talk when eating or sleeping, but now that Lu Anning is willing to come out, he must seize every opportunity to be alone with her.
He had to train most of the day and only had time to spend with her during lunch and dinner.
As for the evening…
He has already said that they should start as friends, so he must sleep in a separate bed from Lu Anning tonight. After all, ordinary friends of the opposite sex would not sleep in the same bed.
Lu Anning had finally taken a small step forward, and he couldn’t be too impatient and cause her to take several steps back.
No rush, all they have is time.
After lunch, I washed the dishes.
Sui Jingxing consciously moved out the things that belonged to him from the inner room, which made Lu Anning breathe a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, this person is quite reliable and at least he keeps his word.
Lu Anning in the room was happy, but Sui Jingxing, who was sitting on the bed in the outer room, was extremely depressed.
I don’t know when I can sleep with my wife in my arms again.
Since the door was locked to him, he didn’t plan to stay in the room for long. He didn’t have the habit of taking naps, and he would only feel more depressed the longer he stayed in the room. It would be better for him to go for training to divert his attention.
“Jing Xing!”
When Chen Yongfeng saw Sui Jingxing passing by his house, he immediately called out to him and waved to him.
“Uncle Chen, what do you want to talk to me about?”
When there were other people around, he usually called Chen Yongfeng “Master Chen”, and when there were no outsiders around, he would just call him Uncle Chen.
“Your father-in-law said that Lu Anning will work as an accountant in a garment factory. Has it really been decided?”
“Well, I’ll go to work on the 7th of next month.”
“Why do you insist on being an accountant? It’s not an easy job.”
“This is Lu Anning’s own decision. Since she proposed it, we’ll just follow her wishes.”
“I have dealt with their factory manager Liu several times. Now that the decision has been made, I will go and say hello to him someday and ask him to help take care of it.”
“Thank you, Uncle Chen.”
“By the way, Uncle Chen, can I apply for a car for one day every Sunday?”
“what?”
“Take Lu Anning to the Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for treatment.”
Chen Yongfeng thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.
“Keep a low profile.”
“I understand.”
