Chapter 50
“Pfft~” Li Xu couldn’t help but almost laughed out loud.
My sixth brother’s wife dares to say anything.
“You are cursing me!” Old Mrs. Xu was furious.
“No, I’m just talking about business~” Ning Jia blinked, “Please don’t be angry, anger is harmful to your health! If you don’t control your temper, you’ll probably call me dad too early.”
“Oh my God…” Old Mrs. Xu covered her chest and cried out, “I can’t live any longer. This daughter-in-law is going to drive me to death.”
The other daughters-in-law were all trying hard to hold back their laughter, and no one made a sound.
“Ning Jia.” Li Yao finally spoke, “This is our mother, we can’t say anything too harsh.”
Ning Jia pouted: “Oh.”
After persuading Ning Jia, Li Yao stood up and walked to Old Lady Xu: “Mom, don’t be angry. Ning Jia’s words are not nice to hear, but they are true. You can’t always get angry, so that you can stay healthy.”
After that, he filled a bowl of bone soup and handed it to Old Lady Xu: “Mom, drink the soup.”
Old Mrs. Xu subconsciously went to take it. The aroma of meat almost made her hungry to death.
I have to say that this little girl Ning Jia may not be good at other things, but she is really good at cooking and making people happy.
“Ahem.” Ning Jia deliberately coughed twice, “Integrity is a good thing, but unfortunately some people don’t have it.”
Old Mrs. Xu said angrily: “You don’t have to order me, I don’t want to drink it at all! I don’t even want a bone soup!”
“That’s great, I haven’t drunk enough.” Ning Jia winked at Li Yao.
Li Yao shook his head and handed the soup to Ning Jia helplessly.
Old Mrs. Xu was so angry that she didn’t even eat her meal. She dragged Lin Xiaoxi to Li Chuan’s room.
As soon as the door closed, Lin Xiaoxi’s eyes turned red: “Mom, I feel sorry for you! You are such a good person, how could you let Ning Jia bully you!”
When Old Mrs. Xu saw that Lin Xiaoxi felt sorry for her, she immediately thought that this girl was simply wonderful.
“Xiaoxi, about the betrothal gift…”
“Mom, my mom is to blame for the bride price! I told her not to do this, our family can’t afford that much money! My mom said there’s no point in marrying a wife without money, and asked me to break up with Li Chuan. How could I do such a thing? So, I want to break up with my mom!” Lin Xiaoxi said with tears in her eyes.
Old Mrs. Xu originally wanted Lin Xiaoxi to discuss with her family to see if they could ask for less betrothal gift.
When he heard that she was going to break off relations with her family, he was so scared that he hurriedly said, “No, this is not allowed.”
She was still counting on her in-laws in the future, and was thinking of living in the city for a while to see what the capital was like.
The fortune teller said that her wealth for the rest of her life depended on Lin Xiaoxi. And Lin Xiaoxi relied on her father who was a factory manager and her mother who was a saleswoman.
Can this relationship be severed?
Absolutely not!
“You have to pay for the bride price. Even if you agree, I won’t agree. Don’t worry!” Old Mrs. Xu patted her chest and made a guarantee again.
“Thank you, Mom!” Lin Xiaoxi finally burst into laughter.
“Why thank me? Mom is counting on you to enter the Li family and be on the same page with me.”
“I’m definitely on the same page with Mom!”
“That’s good.” Mrs. Xu nodded repeatedly. Thinking of the accounting competition in two days, she asked one more question, “Are you confident that you can get the accounting job?”
Lin Xiaoxi was very sure: “Of course! I must be able to win!”
“That’s great! Mom is waiting for your good news!”
“Uh-huh.”
“Haven’t you eaten yet? Come on, let’s go eat egg noodles!”
Lin Xiaoxi said happily: “I know that my mother loves me the most!”
After the family finished their meal, Bai Jinfeng came to the kitchen to wash the dishes. She saw Grandma Xu making hand-rolled noodles and putting two eggs in the bowl. She was very unhappy.
eccentric!
So biased!
The more she thought about it, the more upset she felt. She started washing the dishes and slammed them around, making the pots and pans clang loudly.
“My eldest brother’s wife, you want to die!” Old Mrs. Xu cursed fiercely, “You all want to go to heaven! If you smash my pots and pans again, I will let your man smash you well!”
Bai Jinfeng frowned and stopped talking.
After Mrs. Xu left the kitchen, she turned to her back and said, “Haha!”
An autumn rain, a chill.
After two days of continuous rain, the weather finally cleared up.
The men all went to work early in the morning, and Ning Jia slept until he woke up naturally before slowly getting up.
As soon as she went out, the cold wind blew in her face. She shivered immediately while hugging her arms, and sneezed loudly as soon as she opened her mouth.
Bai Jinfeng was drying quilts in the yard. When she heard the noise, she turned around and saw Ning Jia standing at the door with his shoulders hunched.
“Are you awake, sister-in-law? The weather is cold, you need to wear something warmer in the morning.”
Ning Jia rubbed his nose and said, “Good morning, sister-in-law. Didn’t you go to work today?”
Bai Jinfeng smiled and said, “Yes, I have my period today and I am not feeling well, so I won’t go. It just so happens that today’s weather is good, so I took out all the bedding to dry in the sun. I heard that the temperature will drop again in a few days, and it might even snow!”
“Oh.” Ning Jia nodded, thinking silently in his heart that he had to ask Li Yao to heat the kang quickly.
Her bones are not resistant to cold.
“Okay, you stay here by yourself. I’m going back to the house.” After hanging up the quilt, Bai Jinfeng said goodbye to Mingjia and went back to the house.
Ning Jia put on some clothes and stretched his legs in the yard.
Zhaodi came back running from the door with tears on her face.
“What’s wrong?” Ning Jia saw the little baby crying and squatted down to ask.
“The candy was snatched away by Gou Wa…” She pursed her lips, tears welled up in her eyes, and looked extremely pitiful.
“Oh, poor little thing. Stop crying. Auntie will give you something delicious.” Ning Jia turned around and went back to the house. She took out a honey fruit and gave it to Zhaodi, “Eat it!”
Zhaodi wiped her tears and smiled: “Thank you, auntie.”
“You’re welcome. Go have fun!”
Zhaodi returned to the house holding the honey fruit: “Mom, Auntie gave me some delicious food, Mom, eat it.”
Bai Jinfeng took a look and found it was actually honey fruit: “Oh, this thing is so expensive! Did Third Aunt give it to me?”
In her impression, Liang Lanlan was from the town and her family was better off, so the things should have been given by her.
Zhaodi shook her head: “It was given by Sixth Aunt. Sixth Aunt also secretly gave me peach cakes, which were fragrant, sweet and delicious.”
Bai Jinfeng really didn’t expect that the sixth daughter-in-law, who seemed to be so petty and could make the old lady angry to death, would secretly give delicious food to her daughter.
“Why did she give it to you?” Bai Jinfeng still found it incredible.
“She said Zhaodi is cute and she likes me.”
Bai Jinfeng nodded: “Then be sweeter in the future and try to please Sixth Aunt. She will give you more delicious food.”
Zhaodi: “Even if I don’t coax my aunt, she will give it to me.”
“Silly child.” Bai Jinfeng patted her head, “Eat secretly, don’t let anyone find out.”
Zhaodi nodded: “Oh.”
After eating the candied fruit, Zhaodi was jumping rope in the yard when she heard someone talking in her sixth aunt’s room.
The child was very curious and walked to the door to listen to the adults talking.
As soon as I reached the door, I heard bursts of crying coming from inside, followed by Uncle Six’s fierce voice:
“Stop crying, just tell me what’s going on! Will crying solve the problem? Did it hurt just now? Huh?”
Uncle Six bullies Aunt Six!
This thought flashed through Zhaodi’s mind, and she ran out quickly.
