Chapter 141: Mom Didn’t Say
“Huh?” Song Sikai was completely caught off guard, dumbfounded.
“I’m pregnant!” Du Ximei looked at his dazed expression with a hint of disdain.
“I, I, I’m pregnant?” He repeated her words stammeringly, slowly widening his eyes, looking at her in disbelief.
Didn’t they say they wouldn’t have children before? How come it suddenly happened?
“…”
“Yes! You are pregnant!” Du Ximei glared at him.
“Really?” Song Sikai’s gaze shifted to her stomach, his eyes bursting with light, his speech becoming incoherent: “How did it happen? What, what about our dog son? Does he need to eat? What should I do?”
“Do you have any idea how it happened, you jerk!” Du Ximei couldn’t help but hit him again: “It’s from another man! You just take care of your dog son!”
“…”
Her temper had always been erratic before, and it had been even more unpredictable these days. Song Sikai hadn’t thought much of it at first, but now that he knew she was pregnant, he felt it was normal.
His brother Han had said that Hu Yao’s temper had gotten a lot worse after she got pregnant.
No wonder his wife was hitting and scolding him! It was normal for a pregnant woman!
“Wife, do you still want to hit me?” He started to laugh foolishly, bending down and leaning towards the other side of his face that she hadn’t hit.
Du Ximei remained silent, watching him lean close with a silly, smiling expression, her eyes unconsciously tinged with amusement.
Humph, she knew he still wanted children!
Liar! He even dared to use a dog to appease her.
“Hit you at home!” She said in a bad mood, pushing his face away.
“Okay, okay, let’s go home!” Song Sikai nodded repeatedly, extremely cooperative.
Knowing she was pregnant, he quickly helped her up, afraid that she might have an accident.
“I can walk by myself.” Du Ximei felt uncomfortable with him holding her hand.
“Wife, you have to walk slowly from now on, don’t run around like you used to, what if you fall? And don’t fight with anyone, if you want to hit someone, come tell me, you can hit me at home.” Song Sikai was already worrying, rambling on: “I saw Han doing the same thing with his wife.”
“My belly isn’t as big as my sister’s yet!” Du Ximei squinted at him.
“Oh yeah! Han used to carry his wife directly!” Song Sikai looked at her, eager to get his hands on her.
Du Ximei slapped him away. Her situation was different from Hu Yao’s. Hu Yao had experienced several miscarriages, so Jiang Han was naturally anxious, wanting to even walk the path for her. But the one in her stomach was strong, the doctor said it was healthy.
If Song Sikai really learned from Jiang Han and did the same to her, she would be miserable.
“Don’t touch me! Hold your own food!” She glared at him.
He said he wanted to carry her, but since he knew she was pregnant, he had dropped the food he was carrying several times.
“Wife, my mother said…” Song Sikai was about to say something.
“Mom didn’t say anything!” Du Ximei interrupted him.
…
Tang Haofei had been running to the pastry shop every day, shamelessly trying to win over Qiu Yingwen and Qiu Yarong. Qiu Yingwen was annoyed to death, but he was still thick-skinned enough to call her “Wenwen” like he used to.
Qiu Yingwen wanted to rip his mouth off. Hearing him call her that way again after all these years, she felt a disgust she had never felt before. She felt like her name was no longer clean.
He was like he had nothing to do, running here every day, making a lot of noise.
Qiu Yingwen had even reported him to the police, but she couldn’t do anything about him. Seeing him being so shameless every day almost drove her crazy.
If it wasn’t for Du Ximei beating him half to death last time, leaving him still injured, Qiu Yingwen would have already taken action.
“Wenwen, this is some dried bamboo shoots for you!”
That day, Tang Haofei came again, smiling and flattering as he approached Qiu Yingwen, completely unfazed by her cold face.
He had been bringing her all sorts of good food, fun things, and useful things, but she didn’t even give him a glance, either telling him to scram or to get lost, completely ignoring him.
His former arrogance had vanished in her presence.
To get her to talk to him for a few more words, he had used all his tricks. She didn’t want the things he gave her, but she wanted Hu Yao’s! So he spent the last two days specifically “stealing” things Hu Yao wanted to give to Qiu Yingwen, running errands for her.
Jiang Han and Song Sikai had been busy like dogs these days, repeatedly urging him to work.
Ha! He hadn’t even recovered from his injuries, how could he work? He had done all the work for them before, letting them stay home happily with their wives, why didn’t they say anything then? Now he couldn’t even win over a woman! They were happy holding their wives, how dare they ask him to work!
He still didn’t have his own happiness, how could they ask him to work when they were happy themselves!
“Put it there.”
Hearing that it was from Hu Yao, Qiu Yingwen finally spoke to him, then continued to arrange the freshly baked pastries.
The pastry shop had been open for a while, and those who had tasted it knew it was delicious. The previous trouble had faded, and gradually, there were more repeat customers, and business was getting better.
Tang Haofei smiled and agreed, placing it on the counter at the front desk, then actively approached her: “Let me help you arrange it, Wenwen.”
“Get out!” Qiu Yingwen didn’t even look at him, pointing to the direction of the door.
Tang Haofei’s eyes flashed with disappointment, looking at her cold, white side profile, he was slightly lost in thought.
After all these years, she had become even more beautiful, and she was in great shape. Even without him and his daughter, she was still strong and self-sufficient.
But she had once searched for him for so long, enduring hardship, without him knowing.
Thinking about it, Tang Haofei’s heart ached.
He stood there staring at her, his eyes hard to ignore. He would often stare at her like this, Qiu–>>
Yingwen rolled her eyes and turned to leave.
She was getting increasingly annoyed by his relentless pursuit, about to tell him to scram, when another unfamiliar, syrupy voice cut through the air.
A woman with a delicate, alluring face stepped into the room. Upon seeing Tang Haofei, she rushed towards him excitedly.
“Fei Ge, you’re really here!”
She called out sweetly, her voice loud enough to draw attention. She immediately threw her arms around Tang Haofei’s arm, as if trying to meld her body into his.
“Why haven’t you come to see me in so long? I saw Kai Ge yesterday and asked him about you for ages, but he wouldn’t even talk to me, so annoying!”
“And, he even hit me! So annoying, you have to help me get justice!” The woman kept shaking Tang Haofei’s arm, whining and feigning anger.
Thinking about how Song Sikai had dared to kick her in the street without any mercy, she was truly furious! She had been trying to seduce Tang Haofei, even though he was already with someone else, but he was oblivious, constantly talking about his wife and some “Ximei Meizi” or whatever!
