Chapter 19: He Wasn’t Without Bites
These past few days, he had been somewhat “kind” to her, making her less afraid of him. But his words chilled her heart, making her not just afraid, but also heavy.
With Jiang Xiaochao by her side, his considerate and adorable nature warmed her, making her forget the cruel realities that Jiang Han had bluntly mentioned.
Hu Yao didn’t think Jiang Han was lying. If she didn’t comply with his wishes, he would truly throw her back to Hu Guifen.
What would Hu Guifen do to her then? It would be just as he said, selling her to another man.
She had even considered selling her to the old cripple.
Hu Yao felt a pang of bitterness in her heart, her eyes drooping with a reddish hue.
“I won’t go back,” she said in a slightly hoarse voice, looking up at him and shaking her head gently.
Rather than returning to the Hu family, she preferred to stay here, where Jiang Xiaochao was.
And why was she being so sentimental? She and Jiang Han had a child together. Whatever he wanted to do to her was normal, weren’t they husband and wife after all…?
He hadn’t done anything to her when her injuries were still healing, and he hadn’t deprived her of food or necessities. Her body had also recovered well.
Compared to others, he had been pretty good to her.
Sleeping with him, what was the big deal!
Hu Yao convinced herself in her heart, but she couldn’t help feeling a strange sense of panic and nervousness.
Jiang Han was quite satisfied with her compliance regarding her choice.
But seeing her with a look of resignation, he laughed again.
So she felt wronged by him? If it weren’t for him, she would have died hundreds of times over, and would she even have the chance to shed tears in front of him?
Jiang Han was indeed not a good person. He had done wicked things, dirty things, and rarely did good deeds.
One of the few good things he did was buy Hu Yao.
He, of course, thought he was doing a good deed. However, buying her wasn’t entirely selfless. He was getting older, and his brothers were all starting families. He was considered late, so he bought Hu Yao as a wife for himself.
But at that time, he had made a wrong calculation. Hu Yao, with her childish mind, was incredibly annoying. He had wanted her to do laundry, cook, and take care of the little things around the house. Even if she was foolish, wouldn’t any girl in the village know how to do things by the age of four or five? Yet, she needed him to take care of her instead. She was so noisy and annoying, not to mention Hu Guifen beating her. He wanted to beat her flat!
She was pretty, and he was a young man full of vigor. Honestly, he had only bought her because of her looks. How could he possibly do nothing?
He had touched her that very night!
Hu Yao cried and wailed, going from initial panic and bewilderment to fear and anger. She pointed her tear-soaked eyes at his nose and yelled, saying he wouldn’t let her go home and was bullying her, and that she would have her father beat him to death.
She cried and made a fuss, and Jiang Han’s head buzzed with her noise. His interest was completely gone.
She was foolish to have the guts to yell at him repeatedly.
He regretted buying Hu Yao back a few days later and wanted to return her to Hu Guifen, telling her to go back to where she came from.
But just before he was about to drive her away, he touched her.
After all, she was his first woman. He always thought women outside were dirty and afraid of getting sick. Even though he wasn’t a good person, he still had some sense of chastity.
Perhaps men are more tolerant towards their first woman. He ended up keeping Hu Yao.
And that was the time she got pregnant with his child.
Jiang Han couldn’t describe his feelings. He just raised them together.
But Hu Yao was clearly still against him. She gave birth to Jiang Fuchao, who was just as annoying as her. When he went home and saw the two of them, he felt a headache coming on. They were simply there to curse him!
Hu Yao was indeed fragile. Not only did she cry and wail when he didn’t do anything to her, but the time he actually touched her, she even got seriously ill. She was on the verge of death and had to be taken to the hospital in town. Thinking about it made Jiang Han feel ashamed, although he didn’t have much face to lose anyway.
He hadn’t touched her since then. He got annoyed whenever she cried. If it weren’t for her foolish mother and Jiang Fuchao sleeping together and plotting to go out and play, running around everywhere, he wouldn’t have bothered confining her to his room. It was simply affecting his sleep.
He also wished he could break their legs, both mother and son. When he wasn’t home, Lin Zhao-di would watch them, and they would be quite well-behaved. But as soon as he came back, they would cause trouble for him, making him restless!
But the situation was different now. Her mind was better, wasn’t it? Her father, whom she always mentioned, was dead. He was raising her just like her father, so it was time to pay back the “debt”!
Jiang Han looked at Hu Yao, who was clearly still reluctant, and his gaze swept over her exposed arm, the skin as tender as soft tofu. He narrowed his eyes.
In the past, she would follow Jiang Fuchao everywhere, playing in the mud, stealing peanuts, and stealing other people’s dogs. No matter how neatly Lin Zhao-di cleaned up after her, she would make a mess. It was a waste of her pretty face.
Now, she no longer had that arrogant air. She could clean up after herself and was “presentable.” It was much more pleasing to the eye.
She didn’t dare to talk back either, which he was particularly satisfied with.
It was just that she cried so easily.
But she probably didn’t know that her tearful and pitiful appearance made men want to bully her even more.
Jiang Han’s gaze shifted to her beautiful, flushed eyelids, his eyes darkening.
The night was quiet, with the chirping of crickets echoing loudly.
Jiang Xiaochao knew that Hu Yao wouldn’t be sleeping with him tonight, and he was a little unhappy. He asked Jiang Han if he could come over and sleep with them tonight.
“I’ll sleep with Mom and Dad, and we’ll sing you a song!”
Hu Yao’s eyes lit up slightly.
“I don’t want to hear your ghost crying and wolf howling. Get out.” Jiang Han rejected him mercilessly.
Jiang Xiaochao pouted, his small steps making a loud noise as he walked away reluctantly. Hu Yao was also disappointed.
She slowed down and folded her clothes, making sure each corner was aligned perfectly.
She dawdled, her head lowered like a quail. Jiang Han had no patience. –>>
“Folding a few pieces of clothes for half an hour, your brain is healed but your hands are clumsy?” He snorted coldly: “Come over here!”
Hu Yao was startled by his shout, already nervous, her hands trembled again, her red lips pursed. She put away the clothes, her heart in turmoil as she walked towards him by the bed.
She had already showered, the wound on her forehead had scabbed over and didn’t need medicine. There was no obvious smell of medicine on her body, but instead a clean, fragrant scent of soapwort. She had washed her hair, and the half-dried strands of hair scattered around her face had a faint, fragrant scent that reached his nose.
The scattered black hair by her cheeks hid the wound on her forehead, making her already small face even smaller.
At this moment, she was looking down with a submissive air, quite docile.
Jiang Han looked down at her, his gaze falling on her full, rosy lips, his eyes darkening.
It was strange, every time he saw her now, looking normal and docile, he wanted to bite her, to bite her lips.
They were so soft.
He had bitten them before.
Jiang Han looked at her quietly, a dangerous, invasive look gradually appearing in his eyes.
