Chapter 197: Can’t Be Too Partial to Xiaoya
On the fourth night, Qiu Yingwen and Hu Xiujie also came. The four of them gathered together, happily playing mahjong, transitioning from being unfamiliar to getting into the groove and getting excited.
Du Ximei and Qiu Yingwen, the two masters, taught Hu Yao and Hu Xiujie very well.
Hu Yao and Hu Xiujie, the two newbies, won a large sum of money from Qiu Yingwen and Du Ximei.
They played mahjong at home for an afternoon, and the two little ones, along with Jiang Fuheng, were taken outside by Tang Haofei.
Don’t underestimate Tang Haofei’s carefree demeanor; Jiang Fuheng enjoyed being held by him.
Hu Yao initially wouldn’t give Jiang Fuheng to him, but he snatched him away. He was very eager to help her with the child, saying that she was his sister-in-law and this was his duty.
He was quite adaptable. After expressing his determination to reconcile with Qiu Yingwen, he became incredibly obsequious, lowering his stance significantly. Where was the arrogant, disdainful attitude he had before?
He used to brag about how obedient and submissive his women were. Now, if anyone mentioned him having other women, he would act like he was about to die, afraid of leaving a bad impression on Qiu Yingwen.
Not to mention that Lu Juntao was now divorced and had his eyes set on Qiu Yingwen.
Dealing with him wasn’t difficult. Even though Lu Juntao was somewhat related to him, so what? It was just that Qiu Yingwen hadn’t seen through Lu Juntao’s true nature as a wolf in sheep’s clothing and was protecting him.
Tang Haofei was both angry and annoyed by this. She really had terrible taste in men!
Lu Juntao claimed to be his cousin, but he was actually his uncle and aunt’s adopted son. His biological mother was a woman his uncle had a brief relationship with in his youth. The woman’s husband died, and before she died of illness, she brought Lu Juntao to his uncle. His uncle and aunt felt sorry for them and took Lu Juntao in as their adopted son.
Tang Haofei had seen through that guy from a young age, knowing he wasn’t someone with a pure heart. He thought that since his uncle and aunt only had a daughter, he, as the adopted son, could take her place.
He often took advantage of his poor health, secretly doing all sorts of things. At the age of seven or eight, he dared to push his cousin into a pond and kill her cat.
He even tried to blame it on Tang Haofei! He must have had a tumor in his brain to dare provoke him.
Lu Juntao’s biological mother, after all, wasn’t a proper wife from a good family. She was just someone’s mistress, and Lu Juntao was just a bastard child.
He dared to provoke Tang Haofei and even push his best friend, his cousin, into the water. Of course, he hit a wall. He was lucky that Tang Haofei even bothered to give him any face!
Later, Lu Juntao was sent away by his uncle and aunt, thanks to a few words from Tang Haofei. He was sent to live with a relative of his aunt’s family.
Even though he later couldn’t resist the temptation and tried to find opportunities to go back to the Li family, he didn’t get his wish.
The relative of his aunt’s family who adopted Lu Juntao was good to him. They didn’t have children and treated him like their own son.
But people are greedy. The Li family had served in the military and government for generations, accumulating many achievements during turbulent times. He dreamed of being able to bear the Li family name.
However, his dream was shattered by Tang Haofei. Everyone knew his true background.
When he was ten years old, he went to another place with his adoptive parents. Later, he traveled everywhere for treatment.
Tang Haofei was a mischievous little devil from a young age, making many enemies. Who was Lu Juntao? It had been so many years, he didn’t even remember it.
He didn’t expect that Old Master Tang would make him take Lu Juntao’s name and go to the countryside. Only now did he understand that Lu Juntao had been scheming against him all along, holding a grudge.
At that time, he hadn’t considered telling Qiu Yingwen his real name. But she was so close to Yang Fan, and they hadn’t been so trusting of each other back then.
More importantly, he didn’t trust Yang Fan. He wasn’t sure if Yang Fan would expose his true identity if he found out, which would implicate the Tang family and the Li family.
So he hesitated.
Because of his hesitation, misunderstandings arose later on.
In his youth, he was arrogant, impulsive, and easily angered.
Qiu Yingwen was his first woman. He truly loved her, but after he got her, he felt he was losing control of her.
Their relationship started with her showing kindness, and he was no exception.
Seeing her close contact with Yang Fan, he became increasingly insecure, even though she had explained herself.
No man would be indifferent to another man constantly hanging around his woman. At that time, he wanted to find Yang Fan one night and beat him up.
He didn’t believe that she would run away with Yang Fan for no reason. When he went to find her before returning to the Tang family, he saw them together, seemingly talking about leaving together, saying sorry to someone.
He didn’t pay much attention at the time, only focusing on their entanglement, consumed by anger.
Later, he returned to the Tang family for three months. When he went back to find her, she was gone. He only realized later, recalling what they said that day. Everyone around him also said that she had eloped with Yang Fan.
He didn’t want to believe it, and he didn’t want to believe it, but he couldn’t get any news about her. He hadn’t seen Du Ximei, her close friend, either during their relationship or after she left.
After she completely disappeared, he gradually gave up hope, and his relationship with her became a thorn in his heart.
“Uncle Haofei, we’re going home with little brother. Little brother wants to drink milk.”
Jiang Xiaochao and Tang Haofei had played outside for an afternoon and eaten a lot with Qiu Yarong, their bellies full. They grabbed his wrist, checked the time, and reminded him that it was time to take them home. Hu Yao usually let them play until this time.
Tang Haofei hummed in agreement. He patiently wiped Qiu Yarong’s mouth clean. Seeing her cute pout as she cooperated with him, his heart softened.
His daughter was getting cuter and cuter!
“Does Sister Rong want anything else?”
“I want to buy beautiful hair flowers for Xiaoya!” Qiu Yarong said without hesitation. She couldn’t forget her big wife, Xiaoya, no matter what.
“Buy! I’ll buy them for Sister Rong too!” Tang Haofei was very generous.
During the days when Qiu Yingwen was sick,
He was explicitly forbidden from playing with his daughter, so he naturally took on the responsibility of taking care of her. Their father-daughter relationship has made great strides in recent times.
Qiu Yarong mainly changed her attitude towards him because of his meticulous care for the sick Qiu Yingwen.
Regardless of the reason, Tang Haofei was ecstatic that they, mother and daughter, were willing to acknowledge him.
“Chao Chao, do you want a headband?” Qiu Yarong asked Jiang Xiaochao, the little wife, treating them equally. She felt that she couldn’t be too partial to Xiaoya and had to be fair.
“I don’t want one.” Jiang Xiao Chao finished the last bit of tea egg in his hand and shook his head. He wasn’t a girl.
“Then I’ll give you my egg.” Qiu Yarong took the tea egg that Tang Haofei had bought for her out of her small pocket.
She had another sugar figurine in her hand, which she was going to give to Xiaoya later. Xiaoya didn’t come out to play with them today.
“Is that annoying guy coming back? I saw him fighting with other kids last time. They called Aunt Xiu Jie names, and the annoying guy beat them up.” Qiu Yarong remembered Qin Siyuan and thought that he was a little bit repentant and protective of his mother. She also felt that he was a little pitiful for being ostracized by them for a while.
