Chapter 28: Don’t Do It If You Don’t Want To

No matter what feelings Jiang Han had for Hu Yao now, he definitely had a possessive desire for her. When would it be anyone else’s turn to control his woman?

If it weren’t for the fact that Song Sikai had been his brother for so long, and was one of the few who was truly loyal to him, he would have flipped out long ago.

“I didn’t find anyone, did I? My mother said you can’t just find a wife casually!” Song Sikai was clearly drunk, his tongue thick and his speech slurred.

Jiang Han was twenty-six this year, and he was two years younger than Jiang Han. He was considered an older bachelor. In this day and age, besides those who were extremely poor and couldn’t afford a wife, which man in his age wasn’t already married with children?

Song Sikai wasn’t short of money, in fact, he had been saving up for a wife for a long time, but he hadn’t found anyone he liked.

“Did you hear wrong? Your mother told you to just find someone, anyone who likes you, and get married quickly.” Jiang Han glared at him.

“Really? Did my mother say that?” Song Sikai looked confused.

“…” Hu Yao quietly cleaned up the dishes. For some reason, she found the scene a little funny.

Song Sikai’s reputation was no better than Jiang Han’s. They were both notorious hooligans and villains, and everyone avoided them.

But it turned out he was very obedient to his mother.

Song Sikai was also a big eater. She didn’t know he was coming, so she didn’t cook much for him.

Fortunately, there were a lot of pumpkin cakes.

Although Song Sikai disliked Hu Yao, he enjoyed the food she made. He staggered away, not forgetting to take a few pumpkin cakes with him.

“Pour me a glass of water.”

Hu Yao paused, silently poured a glass of warm water and handed it to him.

Jiang Han wanted cold water.

But the only water available was warm.

He was reeking of alcohol, and his expression was becoming impatient.

But this time, he didn’t yell at her. Instead, he went to the water tank and scooped up a ladleful to drink directly.

The drinking water in the village was all mountain spring water from the mountains, clear and clean. It was safe to drink directly, but Hu Yao was used to boiling it first.

She withdrew her gaze and continued washing dishes.

Jiang Han didn’t seem to be going out tonight. He had drunk a lot, but he was still sober, and he didn’t act crazy like Hu Yao had thought he would.

He just went to sleep after getting drunk, very obediently.

Hu Yao was surprised, and a little uncomfortable.

The sky was dotted with stars, and the moon was bright.

It was getting late, and Jiang Xiaochao hadn’t come back yet. Hu Yao washed up and went out to find him.

He was still happily playing hide-and-seek with his friends. When Hu Yao went to find him, the other children’s parents were calling them home as well.

Jiang Xiaochao obediently crawled out of the bushes and went home with her.

He was covered in dirt, but his little smile was bright. He held her hand and skipped along, his little voice cheerful.

Hu Yao couldn’t help but laugh with him.

After giving him a bath, he went to bed obediently, without needing anyone to coax him to sleep.

Jiang Han was also sleeping soundly in the room. He hadn’t showered yet, complaining about the heat, and was only wearing a pair of pants.

Hu Yao picked up his clothes that he had thrown on the floor and put them away. After hesitating for a long time, she blushed and went to wipe him down with a wet towel.

Although she had been intimate with him, she still wasn’t used to touching a man’s body. She just wiped him down quickly and poured the water away.

She slept on the inside, but he was lying in the middle, taking up half of her space.

Wiping his face seemed to have startled him. Just as Hu Yao hesitated about getting into bed, he woke up and looked at her with a dark and ambiguous expression.

Then, he got up with a dark face and unceremoniously kicked her out.

The door slammed shut in front of her with a loud bang.

Hu Yao was stunned.

She clenched her fists and went to Jiang Xiaochao’s room, feeling frustrated.

She didn’t really want to sleep with him anyway, so this was fine!

She slept soundly in the middle of the night, holding Jiang Xiaochao’s soft and milky body, when she was suddenly carried back to the main room.

Jiang Han was angrily questioning her about why she went to Jiang Xiaochao’s room without his permission.

He had completely forgotten that he was the one who had kicked her out!

Hu Yao was still sleepy, her eyelids were heavy, and she looked at him with a dull gaze. She reached out and covered his mouth with her hand.

Jiang Han was amused. Was she complaining that he was too noisy?

Before he could say anything, she was too sleepy and fell asleep in his arms.

When Hu Yao woke up again, it was already dawn. She was curled up in his arms, with his arm as a pillow.

She usually slept flat on her back, and this position made her uncomfortable. Her neck felt stiff, and it hurt to move it.

This was the first time in all these years that she had slept with a stiff neck.

While making breakfast, she couldn’t help but massage her neck.

The “culprit”, Jiang Han, was completely unaware. As he passed by her, he reached out and rubbed her neck.

Hu Yao’s eyes welled up with tears.

Jiang Xiaochao noticed something was wrong and ran over, worried: “Yaoyao, why are you crying?”

Jiang Han stopped in his tracks, turned around, frowned, and strode back to her, lifting her chin.

“What are you crying for?” he asked, his tone a little heavy.

He hadn’t hit her or scolded her.

Hu Yao hurriedly patted his hand, feeling her neck hurt even more. Tears kept streaming down her face. “Let, let go, it hurts, my neck.”

Jiang Han realized what was going on and let go of her hand. He looked at her neck again and understood.

“Pretty bad, sleeping like that,” he said sarcastically.

Hu Yao couldn’t speak, she took a deep breath, her eyes filled with resentment.

She had been sleeping soundly, all because of him! His hand was not comfortable to rest on, harder than a rock.

Jiang Han had no guilt about this, but he didn’t let her go pick tea anymore, and made her stay at home.

There were still a few pieces of pumpkin cake left from yesterday. Jiang Xiaochao loved to eat them, he ran out to play and stuffed two pieces in his small pocket, breaking them to share with his friends.

Today Song Sikai came over to mooch off their food again. He didn’t know that Hu Yao had a stiff neck, and when he saw Jiang Han teasing her with interest, she got angry and refused to cook, he was unhappy and started badmouthing Hu Yao to Jiang Han.

This time Jiang Han told him to get lost and go back to his own woman to cook.

But Song Sikai didn’t have a woman at the moment, and he felt that Jiang Han was too lenient with Hu Yao.

“My mother said! This…”

“Get out!” Jiang Han had heard his mother say “My mother said” so many times that he was tired of it, and impatiently chased him away.

“What are you messing around with, don’t you want your head or your neck anymore?” He still held Hu Yao’s head, looking down at her red-rimmed eyes, softening his tone slightly.

It was strange, he wanted to make her cry when she wasn’t crying, and he found it unpleasant when she actually cried.

“Don’t want to do it, then don’t.”

“Want some watermelon?”

He was in a pretty good mood today, after teasing her, he still had the patience to coax her a bit.
