Chapter 46: A Wicked Thought
On the way home, Hu Yao ran into someone she hadn’t seen in a long time, and a little incident happened.
It was Hu Qiao.
Hu Qiao was only a year younger than Hu Yao.
A few months after Hu Yao was knocked silly, Hu Qiao got married. She married a young intellectual.
The young intellectual she married was from the county. It was said that she hadn’t been living well in her husband’s family for the past four years. Her in-laws didn’t like her, and her husband didn’t treat her well either.
After getting married, it was different from being a girl. Hu Qiao was also raised by Hu Guifen, and she was somewhat spoiled. But after getting married, her temper was suppressed.
Perhaps Hu Qiao really liked her husband and was willing to suppress her nature and temper to please him.
However, her accommodation didn’t bring her anything good.
She hadn’t had any children in the past few years of marriage.
Perhaps because she was looked down upon in her husband’s family, Hu Qiao often went back to her mother’s house. Hu Guifen loved her and was angry at her husband’s family for treating her like that. But her daughter had married into another family, and it was a high marriage. She couldn’t say much, worried that Hu Qiao wouldn’t be happy if she said too much.
Hu Qiao ran into Hu Yao, her face wasn’t very good, but she still greeted her.
“It’s such a coincidence, sister. I just came back and ran into you and Xiaochao.” The hatred in Hu Qiao’s eyes for Hu Yao was real and couldn’t be concealed. Her words were full of familiarity, but the contradiction was strange.
In the past, Hu Qiao had some good face for Hu Yao. Now, four years later, her disgust towards her was more obvious, and the slightest bit of sisterhood was nowhere to be seen.
Hu Yao’s eyes turned cold, and she ignored her.
Obviously, this accidental encounter wasn’t accidental, Hu Qiao was specifically looking for her.
Seeing that she didn’t pay attention to her, she followed her closely and spoke to her again.
“Sister, are you angry that I haven’t come to see you for so long after you’ve gotten better? Don’t be angry, it’s because I don’t have time. I came to see you specifically today…” Hu Qiao gritted her teeth and endured, suppressing the resentment in her heart, and put on a smile, softly taking Hu Yao’s hand.
She looked at Hu Yao’s nourished and beautiful face, and a trace of jealousy flashed in her eyes. She and Hu Yao were sisters, and they looked somewhat alike. But she looked more like Hu Guifen, while Hu Yao looked like her father!
Hu Qiao felt resentful again, then looked at Jiang Xiaochao, who looked like her, and put on a smile again: “Sister, don’t blame Mom either. At that time, with your situation, she was forced to marry you to Jiang…brother-in-law.” Hu Qiao changed her address.
“Brother-in-law is also very good to you. Now he has great abilities, and he gives you and Xiaochao a good life. It’s good that we made that decision for you. No one could have imagined that brother-in-law would be doing so well now.”
After she finished speaking, she even turned the matter of selling her into a good thing.
You know, they wanted to sell her to, not Jiang Han! But an old, crippled man in his fifties! If Jiang Han hadn’t intervened, would it have been a good thing for her now? Maybe she wouldn’t have lived to this day!
Hu Yao’s face turned cold, she looked at her silently, and slowly pulled away her hand.
“Good for me? Sister?”
“Hu Qiao, have you ever treated me as your sister?”
“Do you really think I don’t know anything? I ignored you just now, you should know better than to follow me!” Hu Yao said coldly.
Hu Qiao gritted her teeth, but she still held on to a forced smile and grabbed Hu Yao’s hand again: “Sister, what are you saying? Did someone say something to you? We are sisters from the same father and mother, you are closer to me than Yao Guo. How could I not treat you as my sister! I was young before, and I did some things that made you sad, but I won’t do it anymore. We are sisters!”
“Sisters!?” Hu Yao raised her voice, shook off her hand, and her tone became heavier: “I don’t have a sister like you who wants to kill me!”
“Sister! It’s really someone who said something to you! It’s not my fault that you hit your head this time! I was at home that day, but I…”
“I’m talking about four years ago!” Hu Yao interrupted her, her body tense.
“Do you really think I’m so stupid that I can’t remember who pushed me after I recovered?”
Hu Qiao’s face changed, and she instinctively defended herself: “No, sister, I didn’t push you on purpose. It was too dark that night, I didn’t see you, I didn’t know you would be there.”
“Didn’t know?” Hu Yao couldn’t help but laugh.
“You’ve been using my name to deceive Luo Chuming. I guess the Luo family wouldn’t like you, and Luo Chuming would hate you, it’s definitely not just those things. Hu Qiao, you are so vicious and cruel! Don’t talk to me about sisters anymore! From the moment you pushed me to the moment you conspired to sell me, we have no relationship!”
“I survived, and I won’t forget you pushing me. The Luo family treats you like this, it’s your retribution! It’s already my last bit of affection for you that I didn’t step in. You came to me today, you must have something you want me to help with, right? How dare you?” Hu Yao knew Hu Qiao’s character too well. She was being so humble to her, she must have something to ask for.
Thinking back to her childhood, she and Hu Qiao had a good relationship for a while. She called her sister and was close to her, even sleeping together. But as they grew older, their relationship became worse and worse, and they became more and more estranged. She still considered her a sister and tolerated her in every way, but Hu Qiao had stopped treating her as a sister long ago! She could even be so vicious as to harm her for a man, and she still didn’t show any remorse! Hu Guifen even shielded Hu Qiao everywhere!
Hu Yao didn’t want to get entangled with her anymore. She didn’t want to talk about the past, and she didn’t want to think about it anymore. She treated it as repaying Hu Guifen’s kindness for raising her with her life in the past ten years, and she didn’t want to have anything to do with them in the future!
Jiang Xiaochao had seen Hu Qiao, but Hu Qiao didn’t act as obviously annoying as Hu Guifen in front of him. He didn’t like Hu Qiao, but he wasn’t as disgusted with her as he was with Hu Guifen.
It’s just that he was surprised by Hu Yao’s rare cold tone and expression now. Realizing that Hu Yao didn’t like Hu Qiao, he immediately frowned and didn’t like her either.
Looking at her again, he found that she was glaring at Hu Yao. Jiang Xiaochao pursed his lips, his eyes narrowed, and he looked around for stones.
Before he could find one, Hu Yao pulled him away.
“Mom, I need to pee.”
He puffed out his cheeks, his small voice soft.
He had to do what he had in mind, he wouldn’t be able to bear it if he didn’t.
“We’ll be home soon, Chaochao, can you hold on a little longer?” Hu Yao faced him, her emotions calming down considerably, her voice as gentle as ever.
“It says it can’t hold on! Let me show you.” Jiang Xiaochao tugged at his little pants, pulling them open to show Hu Yao.
Hu Yao paused, pressed down on his little hand, and with a smile and a touch of helplessness, told him to go pee by the tree on the side of the road.
Jiang Xiaochao nodded, but he was a little shy, so he ran back to the alley behind them, taking a detour.
Hu Yao smiled, waiting for him in place, completely unaware that he had a bad idea and was going to do something bad.
