Chapter 94: Not Enough Energy to Raise Another One Like Her

Jiang Han’s words, with each sentence, made Jiang Guihua and her son’s faces grow increasingly ugly, until they were twisted with anger.

His blunt, even insulting words, jolted them awake.

Jiang Guihua forced a smile, unable to believe that Jiang Han, who had been sending her money for so many years, would be so cold towards her.

“Han, is there some misunderstanding? Did your wife say something to you?”

Jiang Han was too tired to argue with them. If Hu Yao had really gone to him to complain, he would have been happy to see it. But she was a mute! She would take out her frustration on him when others bullied her! What a good one!

“Get out! Take your junk and get out of here!”

“Don’t you want to live in that old house? Your older brother sold the deed to me before he died. Get out!”

Jiang Guihua was stunned. She had searched the old house high and low but couldn’t find the deed. She had thought that since Jiang Han was so rich now, he could build a good house for them. If they didn’t want to live in his new house, they wouldn’t. She had planned to ask him to renovate the old house and build a new one for them, which would be even more comfortable!

But now things had turned out like this!

Jiang Guihua began to regret and feel remorse. When she came, she had been clear-headed and said she would curry favor with Jiang Han. But somehow she had gotten carried away, intoxicated by the flattery of the neighbors, and underestimated Hu Yao’s position in Jiang Han’s heart!

It was all those busybodies! They had told her that Jiang Han looked down on Hu Yao, his wife, and that his kindness to her was only because she had given him a child.

Those old women had been trying to harm her!

Jiang Guihua gritted her teeth. Seeing that Jiang Han wasn’t lying, she panicked. “Ah Han, you can’t kick us out! My father-in-law’s hometown was flooded, and we barely escaped with our lives. What are we supposed to do if we go back? We can’t survive! We have nowhere to live!”

“It’s not my problem if you can’t survive. If you have no place to live, go beg on the street.” Jiang Han was utterly cold and slammed the door shut.

Hu Yao heard their conversation inside the house and her fingers curled slightly.

“Mommy, Daddy yelled at them for you!” Jiang Xiaochao, who had also heard everything, clenched his small fists and hummed to her.

Hu Yao rubbed his little head.

“Why do they always say Mommy was bought? I was bought by Daddy too! How much am I worth?” He mumbled curiously, then covered his face. “I’m so good, Daddy spent a lot of money to buy me!”

“You were picked up from the side of the road, squatting with a dog, how much could you be worth! Don’t be so full of yourself!” Jiang Han came back and heard him say this, he was annoyed. “Your mother is the one worth money, your father has been piling up gold for her until now!”

Hu Yao didn’t say anything, and she couldn’t really refute him.

He was willing to talk to her now, no longer making Jiang Xiaochao awkwardly relay messages. He strode over and directly put the bracelet that Jiang Xiaochao was still holding onto her right hand.

She already had one on her left hand. He had given it to her before, and she always wanted to take it off, but he wouldn’t let her.

“Don’t say those stupid things anymore! Don’t run away, you know? I’ll really break your legs!” His words were still not very nice.

“Don’t let people bully you to your face. Don’t give anyone face! I bought you with money, but if it were really like those gossipy mouths say, you would have been gone a long time ago! How could you have the time and opportunity to be so smart?”

“Don’t think about random things and come whine to me! You’re my wife, you know? You’re a real wife. Learn from your past self, learn from Jiang Fuchao’s arrogant ways, see who dares to gossip about you!”

“Our Jiang family has never divorced! If you dare have such thoughts, I’ll flatten you and bury you next to Jiang Fuchao’s grandparents! Understand?” He bent slightly, his large hand cupping her face, his magnetic, low voice serious, but he still ended with his usual threats and intimidation, afraid she wouldn’t take it to heart.

“I’m your man, not some stray cat or dog. What are you doing being a mute all day? If you’re unhappy, go beat up Jiang Fuchao to vent your anger. Don’t hide it and torment me! Are you happy being a doormat? I’ve never hit you, even when you hit me in the face. You stupid woman! Be proactive and tell me what you want!”

Jiang Han was still compromising with her. He couldn’t help but tell her plainly that he was spoiling her. He was a big man, all that lovey-dovey stuff was too mushy for him. What wasn’t he doing for her! He earned so much, he didn’t live as well as she and Jiang Xiaochao! They had good food and clothes, and they had nothing to do but play with cats and dogs!

She was his wife, and the Jiang family had always been known for being good to their wives! If something went wrong with her, he wouldn’t be able to explain to his parents!

He just didn’t want her to know that he would spoil her and let her walk all over him!

Hu Yao’s eyes flickered. She looked at his face, close at hand, with his unshaven beard, but his eyes were serious and deep, his clear pupils reflecting her image.

A strange feeling swept through her heart. She looked at him, clenching her fist, and slowly nodded. “I understand.”

“Are you still going to pay me back and leave?”

Hu Yao shook her head gently.

Jiang Han was finally satisfied, his face relaxing a little.

“You, you can’t keep me locked up in the house.” Hu Yao said softly.

“Fine! Go wherever you want after you report to me!” Jiang Han agreed.

“I can’t be stopped from doing what I like…” Hu Yao hesitated and said again.

“Fine!”

“Don’t yell at people for no reason, we have to be reasonable.”

Jiang Han gritted his teeth. “Fine! Be reasonable!”

“If you don’t want me anymore, you have to tell me, don’t stop me from seeing Chaochao.” Hu Yao’s voice was even lower, she said the last sentence, still not very confident.

Jiang Han paused, then laughed again, lifting her head that was slowly drooping, his eyes narrowed. “Be prepared to be buried in the Jiang family’s ancestral grave with me!”

He didn’t have the energy or the desire to raise another woman like her! Raising her was already a headache! Plus Jiang Fuchao and the unlucky egg in her belly!

Jiang Xiaochao saw them–>>

They kept “arguing” and “arguing” getting closer and closer. He couldn’t understand what they were saying anymore, but he could feel the atmosphere between them was much better.

Hearing Jiang Han’s last words, he widened his wet eyes in surprise and rushed forward to interrupt: “Why did Mom and Dad get buried in the mountain? Did Grandpa and Grandma call them?”

“What about me? What if I want to see them? Should I dig them up?”

“…”

His words made Jiang Han speechless again. He kicked him away: “Go up! I’ll bury you first to meet your grandparents!”

He knew this rascal didn’t remember what happened before! He really had the idea of digging up the ancestral graves!

“Jiang Fuchao! If you dig up my grave when my wife and I die, I’ll bury you in advance! I’ll save you from the misfortune of our family!” Jiang Han was very worried.
