Chapter 12 : Her almost thirty-year-old son is going to be a father?
After finally getting her to stop crying, Shen He didn’t care about buying anything and rode his bicycle to take her home.
However, on the way back to the city, the bike was incredibly slow. As if they were afraid of bumping her, the bike was very stable all the way.
And Su Ranran, who was on the bike, was still lost in thought about her previous life. Her hand subconsciously stroked her belly, and the expression on her face was very strange. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, and sometimes deeply self-blaming.
When she returned home in a daze, she happened to run into the Shen family, who had just gotten off work and were having lunch. When they saw them, the once lively dinner table suddenly became quiet.
Seeing the two of them come back together as if nothing had happened, everyone’s jaws almost dropped to the ground.
It took a long time for them to come back to their senses.
In this strange silence, Shen’s father finally spoke.
“Are you back? Hurry up and wash your hands and eat.”
His attitude was so natural, as if her hunger strike for divorce a few days ago had never happened. But his calmness didn’t mean that others could be as indifferent as him.
“Oh, the sun is rising from the west, and some people aren’t acting like big girls anymore?”
The second son’s wife, Gao Fangxia, rolled her eyes, but she was immediately pushed by Feng Yue, who was next to her.
“Say less.”
It wasn’t easy for the eldest sister-in-law to stop making trouble, but she had to make trouble. Did she think that her eldest brother wasn’t big enough?
Hearing this, Gao Fangxia still looked a little unconvinced, but she didn’t say anything else.
Although she kept quiet, the children were still looking at Su Ranran curiously.
“Auntie, aren’t you going to sleep?”
Little Doudou, the third son’s child, blinked and looked at Su Ranran curiously.
In her three-year-old world, she couldn’t understand too many complicated things. She only knew that her aunt hadn’t gone out for several days, and her grandmother didn’t let her disturb her.
Facing the child’s clear eyes, Su Ranran couldn’t help but blush, feeling very embarrassed.
“Your aunt was not feeling well a few days ago, but she’s fine now.”
Shen He explained to her in a low voice.
But who knew that the little one’s mouth would instantly deflate when she heard his voice.
“Woo wow… I’ll be obedient, don’t catch me, soldier uncle!”
Shen He:…
Seeing his frustrated look, Su Ranran was a little amused. She squatted down and habitually wanted to pick up the little one to comfort her, but was stopped by Shen He.
“Be careful of your body.”
Hearing this, Su Ranran also realized that she was heavier now and wasn’t really suitable for holding a child.
Pan Shuifang, who had just come out of the kitchen, happened to hear this and was stunned. Then, as if she had thought of something, she walked toward them with an excited look on her face.
“Big brother, what did you say just now? What about being careful?”
As she spoke, her eyes fixed on Su Ranran’s belly. Was her nearly 30-year-old eldest son finally going to be a father?
“Mom, we just went to the hospital. Ranran is pregnant, and the days are still early.”
These words were like a bomb.
The people who had started eating again in the yard were quiet at first, and then lively congratulations followed.
“Brother, congratulations,” the second son, Feng Yue, said with a beaming face.
His son was already in elementary school, but his brother had never married. Their mother had been so anxious that her mouth was bubbling, and she finally agreed for Su Ranran to marry him.
Then, after coming home, everything was chaotic.
Now that there was a child, the eldest sister-in-law shouldn’t make trouble about returning to the city in the future, right?
The third son, Shen Ping, also congratulated his eldest brother with a happy face.
Pan Shuifang came forward to support Su Ranran with a nervous face.
“Come and sit down, eat first.”
Her caring look didn’t show that she had scolded her just the day before yesterday.
“Thank you, mom.”
Su Ranran lowered her eyes, still a little unaccustomed to her closeness. After marrying into the Shen family for more than a year, her mother-in-law’s attitude toward her could not be said to be good or bad.
But compared to other mothers-in-law who specialize in torturing their daughters-in-law, she was considered a good one in other families.
If she hadn’t gone back to the city on a hunger strike a few days ago, she wouldn’t have scolded her like that.
Gao Fangxia looked at her mother-in-law, who looked like she was facing a great enemy, and couldn’t help curling her lips again.
“As if anyone can’t get pregnant.” As she spoke, she leaned over to the third son’s wife, Xu Huilian, and said, “Huilian, aren’t i right?”
Xu Huilian forced a smile, and her face wasn’t very good.
Su Ranran heard it, but she didn’t take it to heart. After all, the relationship between sisters-in-law is very delicate.
Usually, if you eat one more bite and I eat one less, it can cause resentment. Not to mention, the mother-in-law wanted to worship her at this time.
Shen He took out the dishes that had hardly been touched from the bike and put them on the table.
When the others saw the pots of meat, they were all stunned. And the children were instantly bubbling with excitement. They didn’t care about their fear of their uncle and all gathered around.
“There’s meat!”
Shen Zhengming, the youngest son of the second son, said excitedly, smelling the aroma of the meat in the air.
“It’s braised!”
Shen Zhengjiang, the eldest son of the third family, drooled and eagerly looked at the pot of bright red fish.
But before he could take a few more glances, he heard his grandmother impatiently say “Go away, these are for your aunt.”
Pan Shuifang waved her hand, trying to drive them away.
She didn’t know what had gotten into her, the eldest daughter-in-law, a while ago, to put herself in this state. Now that she’s pregnant, how could she not take good care of herself?
Seeing their children being driven away, the two sisters-in-law looked unhappy. She, Su Ranran, wasn’t a glutton, could she finish these big pots of food?
Su Ranran naturally couldn’t finish it all, and she liked the children at home very much. Usually, they would give her any good things they got.
Sometimes it was roasted grasshoppers, sometimes bird eggs, and the most common thing was wild fruits.
“Mom, we just brought it back specially for everyone to eat together. It’s hot now, and it will go bad if we don’t finish it by night.”
Hearing this, Pan Shuifang’s face relaxed a little.
After all, the family really hadn’t eaten meat for a long time. It wasn’t right to share so many meat dishes with others.
“Okay, Mom will get a basin to fill some for you, and heat it up later, and you can eat it at night.”
Hearing this, the children cheered.
“There’s meat to eat!”
“There’s meat to eat!”
The two sisters-in-law looked at each other, and their faces were a little embarrassed.
People… don’t seem to have the intention of eating alone.
Hearing what her mother-in-law said, Su Ranran didn’t refuse again, but when she was trying to fill herself with meat, she still stopped her. Seeing that she wanted to pick up more fish, Su Ranran was about to speak to stop her, but she heard Shen He say, “Mom, Ranran can’t eat fish.”
Hearing this, Pan Shuifang had to give up.
Just like that, she still filled the medium-sized bowl.
Seeing Pan Shuifang take the bowl away, the others couldn’t help but start picking up dishes.
“This meat is sour and sweet and delicious.”
Unsurprisingly, the tenderloin became the favorite of the children. Soon, several large bowls of meat were swept away.
Only Su Ranran’s bowl still had a few pieces left that Shen He had picked for her.
After lunch, everyone went back to the house to rest one after another, after all, they had to go to work in the afternoon.
When Su Ranran returned to the house, she suddenly remembered that she hadn’t bought a ticket yet.
