Chapter 13 The Secret of Old Lady Luo
After fiddling around on the mountain for a while, Luo Xingci finally cleaned up the bloodstains. It wasn’t completely spotless, but it wasn’t as obvious as before. With these wild boars, she could deliver them and earn some money. She planned to buy a bicycle, which would make it much easier for her to get around.
Old Lady Luo thought about it at home and then went to the village office. Arriving at the village office, she dialed a number she had memorized. Soon, the call was answered. “Hello!” A steady and mature voice came from the other end. Old Lady Luo almost burst into tears upon hearing the voice, but she had business to attend to. This wasn’t the time for reminiscing. “Ah Ming, it’s like this. You said before that you couldn’t marry off that little bitch Luo Xingci so quickly, right? I’m calling to ask when you’ll be able to do it. If you don’t hurry up and marry her off, the whole Luo family will be turned upside down by her.” Old Lady Luo embellished the story, telling the person on the other end of the phone about all of Luo Xingci’s actions in recent days. The person on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before speaking slowly, “She’ll be married off soon. One of the leaders here has a son who’s a bit simple, and he also beats people. He’s been married once before, and his first wife was beaten to death. So, in a few days, I’ll have the leader come over. If this works out, I’ll be firmly established.”
Old Lady Luo immediately agreed. “It’s her good fortune to be able to help you. The sooner you use her value, the better. Anyway, it doesn’t matter to us whether she lives or dies after she gets married. Don’t worry, when your leader comes, I’ll buy some medicine for that dead girl to eat. Once the deed is done, I don’t believe she won’t be obedient.” The two chatted for a few more sentences before hanging up the phone. Old Lady Luo seemed to have thought of something, her eyes narrowed, and she strode out of the village office.
The person on the other end of the phone was her eldest son. But she had told everyone that her eldest son had died long ago. In reality, her eldest son was never dead. He was switched with a child from a wealthy family at birth. Back then, she had suffered a hemorrhage when giving birth to her eldest son. Old Man Luo took her to the town hospital. Coincidentally, there was another woman in the hospital that night. Perhaps it was fate, but there weren’t many wards in the hospital that day, so the woman was staying in the same room as her. At the time, she saw the woman wearing a bracelet, dressed completely differently from the country folk, and her appearance was well-maintained. She knew that the woman in front of her must have married into a wealthy family. Through their interactions, she learned that the woman’s husband was actually from the richest family in a certain city. She was filled with resentment. She wasn’t bad-looking either, why couldn’t she marry someone like that? Moreover, the woman’s husband loved her very much and never left her side. Looking at the refined and mature man, she was very attracted to him. But the man never looked at her, his eyes were only for the woman.
The next day, both of them gave birth. The woman fell into a coma for two days, and the man was very worried. Old Lady Luo went forward to comfort him, but the man never looked at her once. She asked him to take her away, saying that she was beaten by her husband and tormented by her mother-in-law, but the man remained unmoved. Even if she became his maid, the man wouldn’t budge. Gradually, she hated the man. On the third night, with the right time, place, and people, an accident happened at the hospital. Someone came to make trouble, almost causing a loss of life. She held her child and swapped it with the woman’s child. When she saw the man holding her son with a look of love, she felt immense satisfaction. What did it matter if the woman married him? She was still raising his son.
She secretly took the woman’s son back. In the middle of the night, she abandoned the child in the deep mountains. When she went to check the next day, the child was gone. It was probably eaten by wild animals. She didn’t regret it at all, but her son didn’t seem to get along with the man and the woman. Whenever her son asked them for help, they always said that he had to start from the bottom and couldn’t use the family’s name to do things outside. Fortunately, her son was ambitious and is now the director of the machinery factory. This time, he might become the deputy director. If the factory director’s son marries Luo Xingci, then the position of deputy director would be his for sure. If it weren’t for her son saying that Luo Xingci was useful, and for what Luo Fangfang had told her, she would have sold Luo Xingci to a remote mountainous area long ago. Moreover, no one knew this secret. The family’s property must be hers. It’s just a pity…
Luo Xingci didn’t know that a conspiracy was about to befall her. At this moment, she was exercising in the space, practicing not only flexible chopping and slashing but also dodging. Her punches were getting faster and faster, and her body was becoming more flexible. The spiritual spring water could enhance her physique and quickly heal wounds, but it couldn’t make her a martial arts prodigy. There was a place in the space filled with stakes. Every ten meters or five meters, there was a wooden stake. At first, she was slow as she moved between the stakes, but now her speed had increased significantly. When she got tired, she would eat and rest in the space.
Wu Haihua learned that Luo Jiapeng had been taken away by her mother. Old Lady Luo slapped her. “You useless bitch, you can’t even take care of your own son. What use are you? I told you before not to let your son go to your mother’s house. Now, you don’t even know where your mother took him. Where are you going to get me a grandson?” If it were her granddaughter, it would be fine. But this was her grandson, whom she had raised in the palm of her hand. Although the grandson wasn’t close to her, it was because he was young and had been corrupted by Luo Xingci. If he returned to her side, she would definitely teach him well.
Wu Haihua covered her face, feeling wronged. How could she have known that her own mother would take her son away without her consent? She had thought that Old Lady Wu simply disliked her, but she never imagined that she would even take her son away, and she didn’t even leave an address. “Mother, do you think I wanted this? I also want to keep my son by my side. Before, I said that you would help me raise him, but what did you say? Wasn’t it my mother who helped me raise him? Now, my mother has taken him away and you’re blaming me. Wuwuwu, what have I done to deserve this?” Seeing her crying so sadly, Luo Jianmin didn’t blame her. “Mother, it’s not Haihua’s fault. It’s all that little bitch Luo Xingci’s fault. She must have been instigating Jiapeng behind the scenes. Let him go. I’ll have a son who listens to me soon.” For some reason, although he loved Luo Jiapeng, he didn’t have a deep affection for him. After all, he hadn’t grown up by his side. When he grew up, he didn’t listen to him and was better to that little bitch Luo Xingci than he was to him. What was the use of having such a son?
