Back to the ’80s: Sweet and Spicy Military Wife Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Early in the morning, the first ray of sunlight fell gently on Ye Qianqian’s face, making her still-beautiful, if no longer youthful, features glow warmly.

A large, bronze-toned hand softly stroked her body, followed by a kiss that landed near her lips.

“Ah Qian, it’s morning. We’re going to get our marriage certificate today.”

Yes… after more than a decade of twists and turns, they had finally ended up together.

Ye Qianqian sat up, but the discomfort all over her body was a clear reminder of last night’s wild passion. She had nearly thought she was going to be devoured alive.

The man beside her got out of bed and changed into a military-green uniform. He looked upright, disciplined, and serious—yet last night, he had been like a wild beast from the mountains, completely unrestrained.

He was in his thirties now, yet it had been his first time acting like a teenage boy in love.

It was rare and precious that, after all these years, he still held on to his pure heart. She, on the other hand, felt somewhat unworthy of it.

“Having second thoughts?” he asked as he finished getting dressed and warmed up breakfast, only to see Ye Qianqian still lying in bed. There was already a hint of irritation in his voice.

His temper was still pretty fiery.

“Zhao Haichuan… I’m just… sore.”
She was clearly no young girl anymore, but in front of this man, she still couldn’t help but act coy.

Zhao Haichuan walked over, scooped her into his arms, dressed her with gentle care, and even fed her breakfast with his own hands.

“Even if it rains knives from the sky today, you’re marrying me.”
He looked like a domineering villain forcing a woman to marry him.

“Mm.” Ye Qianqian nodded obediently, and after finishing breakfast, was practically dragged to the Civil Affairs Bureau by Zhao Haichuan.

Before long, they were holding two little red marriage certificates, hand in hand as they walked out.

So happy…
If only time could freeze right here.

But suddenly, a man appeared, leading a crowd of reporters and police officers. He pointed directly at Zhao Haichuan and shouted:

“That’s him! Arrest him! This man is a soldier and has committed bigamy!”

Ye Qianqian’s eyes widened as she stared at the man who had made her suffer for more than a decade—her ex-husband. Her jaw clenched tightly, and her eyes turned red.

“What are you talking about? Didn’t we already get divorced?” she yelled.

Shen Congyun let out a creepy laugh.
“Why would I divorce you? All that property should be mine too.”
Next to him stood a woman dressed provocatively, who sneered:

“Sister, now that you’ve committed bigamy, it’s jail time for you. And all your assets? Rightfully ours.”

It was a trap.

Back then, Shen Congyun had told her he’d arranged the divorce through someone else, even showed her a divorce certificate. But it turned out to be a setup—he had known she was going to remarry Zhao Haichuan.

It was one thing for her to be ruined, but Zhao Haichuan had a promising future. He was on track to becoming a major leader—
And now he might be destroyed by their scheme?

They had already ruined her life once. In the name of love, they made her give up everything—
And now, at her happiest moment, they wanted to drag her and Zhao Haichuan to hell?

Fine.
If that’s what they wanted… then she wouldn’t let them off easy.

As the officers moved in to arrest Zhao Haichuan, Ye Qianqian suddenly lunged forward. She grabbed the scumbag and the woman, one in each arm, and shouted fiercely:

“You want to ruin us? Then let’s die together!”

She had seen a large truck approaching, and in that split second, she made her choice.
As the truck slammed into them, she saw the gruesome outcome clearly:

One of the wheels crushed the man’s head.
The woman’s body was mangled from the waist down.

No way they survived.
Good. She should’ve done this long ago.

But then, she heard Zhao Haichuan’s terrified cries—
And regret hit her like a knife.

The person she let down the most…
Was this man.

Only one anguished voice cried out:
“Ye Qianqian, how could you be so foolish? Don’t leave me. I’ll take you to the hospital right now!”

Everyone nearby was stunned—no one brought up the topic of bigamy again.

“Zhao… Zhao Haichuan, I’m sorry… If there’s a next life, I promise I won’t break up with you. Let’s live a good life together, okay?”

“Alright, alright, I’ll do whatever you say.”
That shade of army green looked especially good in Ye Qianqian’s eyes at that moment.
Why hadn’t she thought that way before?

She smiled—but the smile froze on her face.
“Give me the marriage certificate.”

Zhao Haichuan handed her the marriage certificate.
Ye Qianqian clutched it tightly to her chest and closed her eyes.

Maybe her resentment was too strong—because she was reborn.
Reborn at the moment when Shen Congyun pushed her with disgust into a drainage ditch.

She struggled to stand up, choking on a few gulps of dirty water as she coughed violently.
Her clothes were soaked and heavy with muddy water—it took a lot of effort just to steady herself.

In her ears rang Shen Congyun’s cold and disdainful voice:
“Can you just stay away from me from now on?
Whatever you like about me, I’ll change, alright?
But what you’re doing is absolutely shameless.”

As he finished speaking, he threw the clothes she had made to the ground, looking at her as if she were a stranger not to be approached.

There were also a few women from the same village nearby, but none of them helped her.
Instead, they mocked:

“Wow, using the excuse of delivering clothes just to get close to him? Shameless.”

“She’s never done anything dignified in her life. Always throwing herself at him. Doesn’t she know her own worth?”

“Exactly! So fat her eyes are just slits, and she eats like a pig—who would like someone like her?”

Ye Qianqian listened to all of it.
In her past life, she would’ve cried softly.
But now, she climbed up coldly, step by step.

Her head throbbed.
She could feel the part of her brain obsessed with romance slowly being crushed.

When she looked at Shen Congyun again, her face was calm, but inwardly she was sneering.
So what if he was a little paler than others and wore glasses?
Just a pretty boy. Worthless.

She was about to snap back at him—
Then suddenly remembered:
Today was the day he introduced Zhao Haichuan to her.

She couldn’t speak just yet.

At that moment, a large hand reached down and pulled her up.
The man asked with concern, “Are you alright?”

Ye Qianqian looked up.
That army-green uniform now gave her a sense of security and made her heart flutter.

Looking at the younger Zhao Haichuan again,
She noticed how upright and dignified his features were.
He had an air of discipline and masculinity—somewhat restrained and sharply defined.

Not the trendy pretty-boy type,
But a real man—tough and solid.

Why on earth had she broken up with him after less than half a year in her past life?

No need to ask. The answer was: she had no brain.

Ye Qianqian shook her head lightly and said gently,
“I’m fine.”

Even though she weighed 160 pounds now, her voice was still sweet.

She decided to use that to her advantage and earn some goodwill.

Then she walked over to pick up the clothes on the ground, patted off the dust, and said:
“You misunderstood. These weren’t for you. I just noticed your build is about the same as my dad’s, so I thought you could try them on for him.”

Shen Congyun lifted his chin, clearly skeptical.
He gave the new clothes a fleeting glance, then looked away.

In her past life, after humiliating Ye Qianqian, he had ignored the clothes.
Later, he used the excuse of not wasting them to ‘take’ them and wear them himself—typical two-faced behavior.

In this life, there was no way she would let that scumbag benefit again.
