Chapter 35: People from Home Arrived!

He Meina’s statement was similar to Liu Guosheng’s.

She said the second son’s injury was caused by him bumping into the brick himself, not by his father.

She claimed the third son’s injury was an accident, his brother was protecting her.

The police, with a dark expression, felt that He Meina and Liu Guosheng were colluding, and not very cleverly at that! They both wanted to get themselves off the hook.

Then they interrogated the rest of the He family.

These people were all defiant and unwilling to cooperate. They hadn’t seen what happened before, but they admitted to beating Li Mancang, the third son, and the second son.

The onlookers, although they hadn’t seen how Li Mancang got injured, subconsciously believed that Liu Guosheng had done it, and that He Meina had helped!

As for the second son, he had bumped into the brick while being pulled by He’s father.

The third son had been hit with a stone by Liu Guosheng once before, and after he woke up, he was knocked unconscious again by the youngest son of the He family with a brick!

The statements from the people in the courtyard were similar to those of the onlookers.

They arrived when the third son and Wu Zhiqiu were already lying down.

Then Liu Guosheng cracked Li Mancang’s head open, and the second son was pushed down by He’s father and bumped into the brick!

The case was clear. With so many witnesses, the perpetrators’ denials were useless! Now it all depended on the severity of the injuries at the hospital.

Hospital

Chunni watched as her family members were all pushed into the operating room, she was at a loss, she covered her face and squatted at the operating room door, sobbing.

Ge Daye, with his old legs, also came to the hospital. When the police came earlier, the old man had been clever and hid in the courtyard. There were so many witnesses, they didn’t need him, but they couldn’t be without anyone at the hospital.

“Chunni, don’t cry, quickly call Xingguo over, we can’t be without someone in charge here!” Ge Daye didn’t know if they were faking it, seeing them all covered in blood, he didn’t know if anyone would die! He quickly called the eldest son over.

“And your second uncle, anyone you can call, call them!” He didn’t know what was happening inside, the more people from the family who came, the better, they could discuss it together.

This was a big deal, they, the neighbors, dared not take charge!

Chunni wiped her tears, as if she had found a pillar of support.

Chunni first borrowed a phone from the nurses’ station and called her second uncle in her hometown. It was already past midnight, the phone rang for a long time before someone answered!

Her hometown was called Biandan Gou Village, because the shape of the village was like a carrying pole, and it was located between several mountains, hence the name.

The village chief’s house was close to the village office. He was awakened by the sound of the phone in the middle of the night. Someone calling at this hour, something big must have happened.

So he hurriedly put on his coat and went to the village office.

Chunni suppressed her sobs and told the village chief about Li Mancang’s situation.

Li Mancang’s second brother, the village accountant, was a close friend of the village chief. When he heard about this, he immediately agreed on behalf of the accountant.

“Second son’s wife, don’t worry, we’ll be there soon!”

After hanging up the phone, the village chief rushed to Mantun’s house and banged on the door.

Mantun’s family was startled awake!

“What’s wrong? Your brother’s family was beaten and sent to the hospital, they’re all in the hospital now!”

He closed his eyes tightly and turned to go back into the house.

Li Mantun pinched himself hard, it wasn’t a dream!

“Dare to bully Old Li’s family, I’ll kill you!” Li Mantun gritted his teeth, his eyes bloodshot, he took his four sons, and several cousins, nephews, and so on, more than thirty people, each with a stick in their hand, a shovel, their faces full of anger.

Chunni finished calling her family in her hometown and then called her own family. Chunni’s father was the village chief. When he heard that his in-laws had all been beaten to the hospital, and they were all in surgery, he was furious. He was going to settle this with the Ai family!

How would his daughter and three grandchildren live?  Chunni’s father was so angry that he also brought a few strong men to the hospital.

As for the eldest son, Ai Xingguo, Chunni didn’t know where he lived or where he worked, so she couldn’t notify him.

After more than an hour, more than a dozen people arrived at the hospital, carrying sticks in their hands.

Liu, the factory director, who had just arrived at the hospital, was so scared that his legs went weak. Ai Mancang was an honest worker, how could he have such a group of fierce relatives like bandits?

The hospital security guards rushed over to stop them.

The others waited outside.

They rushed to the operating room.

Chunni saw her family arrive and sobbed.

Although Ge Daye was there with her, she was still very scared. If her family members were all gone, she wouldn’t want to live anymore!

“How are they?” Ai Mantun asked anxiously.

Chunni shook her head, “They went in and haven’t come out, I don’t know how they are.”

If his daughter hadn’t insisted on marrying Ai Xingye, he wouldn’t have agreed to this marriage. Besides a city hukou, what else was there? None of his family members were easy to talk to, his daughter had suffered so much over the years!

Ai Mantun snorted, he was dissatisfied with his nephew.

“Xinghu, Xingyuan, you two go to the police station and ask about the situation.”

“Okay, Dad!” Ai Mantun’s eldest and second sons turned and went to the police station.

“Xingping, Xingsong, go to Xingguo’s place and bring your grandparents over!”

“Dad, let my brother and sister-in-law stay, grandparents are old, it will scare them!” Xingping, the third son, said.

“If you’re scared to death, your grandparents won’t be scared either, they have to come! Go quickly!” The old lady was known for her fighting spirit, she was a notorious shrew in the surrounding villages, she could scold people for hours without repeating herself!

The old man was full of tricks, with the old couple there, Ai Mantun felt reassured!
