Back to the 80s to Remarry and the Cold Faced Big Shot Panicked Chapter 19

Chapter 19: She felt really… comfortable!

Although those two insisted at the police station that they were engaged, they had unfortunately been caught during a crackdown.

Having relations before marriage, especially in broad daylight, they deserved to be made an example.

They were tied up, each with a sign on their chest detailing their crimes.

“Shameless! Not only did they intentionally hurt someone, but they also did that…  Disgusting!”

“I know those two. They’re teachers at a technical secondary school.”

“What?  Those kinds of people are teachers?  They’ll corrupt the students!”

“What are you worried about? The police arrested them. They’ll go to labor camp and serve several years in prison. They won’t be teachers again.”

“Justice prevails!  If people like that became teachers, one rotten apple would spoil the whole bunch!”

“Exactly, beat them! They’re no good!”

People around gossiped, throwing rotten vegetables and eggs at the couple.

Liu Xiaotong felt the disdainful gazes from all directions, her self esteem shattered. She felt incredibly humiliated.

Wang Wenqiang wept, but he opened his mouth at the wrong time, and a rotten egg landed in his mouth.

The eggshell broke, releasing a strong stench, making him vomit.

Liu Xiaotong wasn’t much better. Rotten vegetables covered her hair, and various things hit her painfully.

Suddenly, she caught sight of a familiar figure in the crowd and became agitated.

“Lin Yitang, you Bitch! Bitch!”

Unlike her messy and dirty state, Lin Yitang wore a white dress, standing out in the crowd.

Liu Xiaotong’s teeth gnashed.  Her current state was all because of Lin Yitang, who was the most vicious person!

Anger and hatred surged, and Liu Xiaotong lost control, rushing towards Lin Yitang.

Lin Yitang didn’t dodge, a smile playing on her lips, which Liu Xiaotong saw as a provocation.

“Lin Yitang, I hope you die! Ah!”

Liu Xiaotong’s eyes were bloodshot.  Before she reached Lin Yitang, a nearby police officer reacted, hitting her back hard with a baton.

Liu Xiaotong screamed in pain, failing to reach Lin Yitang, and was dragged away like a dog.

Once they were gone, the curses continued until they faded, and Lin Yitang withdrew her gaze and entered the department store.

She felt… satisfied seeing Liu Xiaotong’s miserable state!

That ungrateful viper would never appear before her again.

Humming a tune, Lin Yitang reached the second floor of the department store, which sold clothes.

She planned to buy two outfits.

She had many clothes, but several were bought to attract Yu Jingchuan’s attention; the styles were inappropriate for work.

She had only a few decent outfits. It was summer, and she wanted to buy two more, along with some undergarments.

This was Beijing’s largest department store. Although the styles might not be as diverse as in the south, there were many fashionable clothes.

Lin Yitang chose a dress, a short-sleeved pantsuit, and some underwear before going to the first floor.

The first floor sold jewelry, watches, skincare, and cosmetics.

Lin Yitang went to the skincare counter.

There were only a few skincare products: snow cream, pearl cream, and clam oil. The packaging was simple, but the prices were high.

A small jar of snow cream cost five yuan, mostly affordable for workers’ families; ordinary people couldn’t afford it.

Lin Yitang was only checking the prices for reference when selling her cream.

After browsing the first floor, she went to a nearby market and bought a large piece of pork lard, an ingredient for her cream.

Since she planned to sell the cream, she needed to make more.

Returning home with her purchases, Lin Yitang’s hands were full.

She quickly went into her space and drank some spring water, feeling less tired and hot.

She took the vegetables from the space, keeping some for herself and using some for her cold skin and noodles.

Zhang had prepared lunch. Lin Yitang ate with Chu Peilan and then went to her room for a nap.

She woke up refreshed and energetic.

Lin Yitang prepared the cold skin and noodles for the afternoon, then rendered the lard for the cream.

The small jar she made for herself didn’t contain any fragrance. This time, she bought some jasmine and rose essential oils.

The fragrant cream would be more appealing.

Zhang was surprised and curious to hear she made cream and helped her since she seemed busy.

With her help, the work progressed faster, but Lin Yitang was still busy all afternoon, wishing she had more hands.

When they finished, it was time for the steel factory workers to get off work. Lin Yitang took her things to her stall.

The weather was getting hotter, and more people were buying cold skin and noodles.  She sold out quickly.

Lin Yitang packed up and returned home, working on the cream.

Unbeknownst to her, it was time for dinner with Li Xuemei.  It was dark outside. Lin Yitang took her bag and went to Li Xuemei’s house.

Li Xuemei lived in a family housing area near the steel factory, in a two-bedroom apartment, which was very clean.

“Yitang, you’re finally here! The food is ready!”

Li Xuemei enthusiastically pulled Lin Yitang to sit down, introducing her family.

Li Xuemei’s husband was a middle school teacher, looking refined and gentle, opposite to her outgoing personality.  Their son, Erhu, was eight years old, lively and cute.

The family welcomed Lin Yitang warmly.

Erhu especially liked his pretty aunt, constantly serving her food, making Li Xuemei speechless.

“This brat, I’ve never seen you so well-behaved!”

Erhu was embarrassed.  He was reluctant to let Lin Yitang go after dinner.

Lin Yitang patted his head, promising to visit again.

Li Xuemei walked Lin Yitang to the family housing area entrance before returning.

Lin Yitang strolled home, feeling full.  The evening breeze felt pleasant.

The sky turned dark, the moon hidden behind clouds.

Several people hid in the trees near an alley, observing the area.

“Commander Yu, Wang Hu hasn’t made a move. Will he really come back?”

Chen Xiuyuan scratched his mosquito bites, doubtful.

Wang Hu hadn’t appeared for a long time.

“His wife and children live here. He’ll definitely return before leaving the country.”

Yu Jingchuan was confident in his judgment. His eyes were sharp, constantly observing the surroundings.

Time passed. Just as many thought Wang Hu wouldn’t appear, Yu Jingchuan spotted a figure in the distance and signaled the others to be alert.

Chen Xiuyuan and the others fell silent, more vigilant.

The figure approached, and they recognized Wang Hu, the fugitive!

Seeing him sneak into the courtyard, Yu Jingchuan signaled, deploying their plan…
