Chapter 26: What’s there for me to like?

Unlike the last close-fitting undergarment he had seen, this one had a much bolder design. Just from its shape alone, one could tell how alluring it would look when worn.

Yu Jingchuan immediately felt his throat go dry, the small piece of fabric in his hand suddenly felt scalding hot. His whole body flushed as a surge of desire rushed through him.

Yu Jingchuan’s face darkened like the bottom of a pot. Just as he was about to throw the thing away, Lin Yitang hurriedly rushed in.

She instantly spotted the undergarment in his hand and quickly snatched it back.

“I accidentally left it here.”

She had only noticed one piece missing when she was doing laundry earlier and realized it might have been left here, so she came looking.

Yu Jingchuan let out a cold snort. “You’d better mean that, because that’s exactly what I want to hear!”

Lin Yitang couldn’t be bothered to argue anymore. She grabbed her things and turned to leave.

She had originally planned to set up her stall today, but after falling into the water and getting tangled in this mess, she didn’t feel like doing business anymore. It wasn’t until the next day that she returned to the gate of the steel factory.

By the time she arrived, it was nearly closing time at the factory, and many regular customers were already gathered at her stall.

Someone eagerly asked, “Yitang, why haven’t you been out selling these past couple of days?”

“I had something to take care of!”

Lin Yitang replied cheerfully as she sold cold noodles.

Han Xiuxiu stared at her fair skin, a look of envy appearing on her face.

“Yitang, you’re so fair! I’ve seen you standing under the sun too, but you haven’t tanned at all!”

Lin Yitang’s lips curved up into a smile this was the perfect opening she had been waiting for.

She had been wondering how to promote her homemade cream!

“My skin used to be a little sallow, but I make some whitening and moisturizing cream myself. I use it regularly, and it makes my skin look fairer.”

“You can make cream?” Han Xiuxiu was surprised.

“Of course! It’s a recipe passed down in my family. I brought a few jars with me today, planning to see if anyone would be interested in buying them.”

As she spoke, Lin Yitang pulled out the jars of cream she had prepared over the past few days.

They were in simple plastic containers, but they looked very clean.

“Does this… really work?”

Han Xiuxiu was skeptical.

Lin Yitang patted her chest confidently. “This cream doesn’t just whiten and brighten it can also reduce spots and wrinkles. You can use it for a week, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll give it to you for free!”

After she bought one, two other female workers from the steel factory also decided to buy a jar each.

After selling all her cold noodles and jelly noodles, Lin Yitang packed up and went home.

After dinner, she went out again.

Lin Yitang returned to the spot where she had fallen into the water yesterday.

She remembered clearly what the woman who pushed her looked like, and she was certain she didn’t know her.

That meant the woman must have been acting on someone else’s orders. Lin Yitang had nearly lost her life there was no way she was going to let this go so easily.

She was determined not only to find the woman who pushed her but also to uncover who was behind it!

She had thought it through at that time yesterday, most people would have been at home resting after lunch. Nobody would just be wandering around the park for no reason, which meant the woman who pushed her likely lived nearby.

If she asked around the area, she might be able to find the plump woman.

After dinner, many locals came out to the park to cool off and stroll around, making it quite lively.

Lin Yitang’s luck was good after asking only a few people, she found out about the woman.

An older aunt looked at Lin Yitang curiously and asked, “You mean He Chunhua? Young lady, what do you want with her? She’s a well-known matchmaker around here!”

Lin Yitang just smiled without answering. After getting He Chunhua’s address, she went straight there.

When she arrived, the gate was open. A young girl was washing clothes in the yard, while a stream of curses came from inside the house.

He Chunhua’s fat body loomed over the young girl. Hands on her hips, she spat as she shouted, her flesh jiggling with every word.

The girl doing laundry was crying silently, looking utterly pitiful.

She strode into the yard, immediately catching He Chunhua’s attention.
