Back to the 80s to Remarry and the Cold Faced Big Shot Panicked Chapter 35

Chapter 35: What if I said I could make her disappear?

Yu Jingchuan glanced at her profile. This was what he wanted, yet a strange discomfort lingered.

He pursed his lips, driving to the police station.

They arrived shortly before Wang Xiulian and Liu Dayong were brought in.  Wang Xiulian’s eyes burned with hatred and panic at the sight of Lin Yitang. Liu Dayong remained stoic and meek.

“You know why you’re here. Tell the truth!” the officer demanded.

Wang Xiulian trembled but wouldn’t speak.

Zhang Qiang and his wife, however, cried innocence, blaming Wang Xiulian and Liu Dayong.

“Thinking silence will help? Comrade Lin Yitang is a martyr’s family member! Your actions warrant public shaming!”

The officer slammed his hand on the desk, his glare intense.

Wang Xiulian knew there was no escaping.  Her face darkened, her hatred for Lin Yitang unconcealed.

“Lin Yitang sent my daughter to prison! She ruined her life, shaming our family! I just wanted to teach her a lesson! I did nothing wrong! It’s her fault!”

They’d visited Liu Xiaotong in prison; she was a wreck.

Prison life was far harsher than imagined. Liu Xiaotong cried, begging them to get her out, but they were helpless.

Wang Xiulian’s heart ached. She hated Lin Yitang for living so smoothly.

Her daughter’s reputation was ruined, and she wanted Lin Yitang to experience the same.

She hadn’t expected Zhang Qiang to be so useless, revealing everything so quickly.

Liu Dayong explained, “I didn’t want this, but I couldn’t stop her! Yitang, I’m your uncle. Can we let this go? I’ll keep an eye on your aunt. She won’t bother you again.”

His eyes held guilt.

Lin Yitang scoffed inwardly.

In this life, she’d seen people clearly, including her uncle.  Liu Dayong’s meekness was a facade; he used Wang Xiulian as a shield.

Now he was playing the good guy, hoping she’d forgive them.  Clever.

In her past life, she might have hesitated due to family ties, but not now.  These relatives were ungrateful.

Lin Yitang ignored Liu Dayong and told the officer, “They slandered me. Please deal with them seriously.”

“We will.”

They would be detained, including the Zhangs.

“Lin Yitang, you heartless woman! You harmed Xiaotong and now us? Do you want to see our family destroyed? You’re cursed! No wonder your parents died young!”

Lin Yitang turned back.  Her cold gaze was intense.

She grabbed Wang Xiulian’s hair and slapped her twice.

“You deserve this! Don’t mention my parents again, or I’ll tear your mouth apart!”

Her aura was sharp.  If not for the police station, she wouldn’t have stopped at two slaps.

Wang Xiulian screamed.  Officers intervened and took them away.

Lin Yitang left the station, Yu Jingchuan following silently.

She spoke first. “Let’s go to the hospital.”

“No, it’s just a scratch. I don’t need your money. I protected you because my parents asked me to. Don’t overthink it.”

Yu Jingchuan’s tone was indifferent.

It was late at night. Xia Zhuixin was sleeping soundly when she heard a knock on her window.

She thought she’d misheard, but the knocking continued.

Who could it be?

She was hesitant to open the window when it was pried open, and a large figure squeezed in.

Xia Zhuixin screamed.

“Don’t shout, it’s me!”

The person was heavily clothed, their face covered.  She removed the mask, revealing a familiar face.

Xia Zhuixin recognized her.

“It’s you? How did you find my place? I already paid you!”

It was the woman she’d paid to push Lin Yitang into the water.

Xia Zhuixin was wary.

“You paid me, but you caused me trouble! Dr. Xia, you must help me, or I won’t let you go!”

He Chunhua’s face was fierce, her tone threatening.

“What do you mean? What do you want me to do?”

Xia Zhuixin was confused.

He Chunhua smiled. “Dr. Xia, this helps you too. Don’t you hate Lin Yitang? What if I said I could make her disappear?”

Xia Zhuixin’s eyes lit up.

“Are you serious?”

“Of course, but you have to help us.”

He Chunhua stated her conditions.  They looked at each other in the darkness, like two venomous snakes…
