Back to the 80s to Remarry and the Cold Faced Big Shot Panicked Chapter 5

Chapter 5: I won’t bother you anymore

As dawn broke, Yu Jingchuan got out of bed with a dark expression, took the sheets to the bathroom to wash them, and hung them on the second floor balcony before anyone else woke up.

Just as he came back from the balcony, he saw a figure yawning in the distance.

The woman wore a white cotton and linen dress with small flowers, revealing her slender, straight legs. She wore sandals, her feet small and white, her toes round and cute.

Because of the heat, Lin Yitang hadn’t buttoned her collar tightly, leaving two buttons undone, revealing a patch of white skin, her soft curves subtly visible as she walked.

She was clearly still sleepy, her hair a little messy.  She walked towards him in a daze, and jumped when she suddenly saw him, instantly becoming more alert.

Her pale little face held a dazed expression, somehow cute.

Yu Jingchuan’s barely extinguished desire flared up again, churning within him.

His brows furrowed, he said in a low voice, “What are you doing wandering around outside dressed like that?”

“The bathroom in my room is leaking, I came out to use the toilet.”

Lin Yitang didn’t know why the bathroom had suddenly broken.  Thinking it was still early and probably no one was around, she came out in her nightgown to use the toilet in another guest room on the second floor.

Who knew she would run into Yu Jingchuan? She pulled her collar higher, covering herself more.

This action, however, had a hint of coyness. A gentle breeze blew through the hallway, the thin dress clinging to Lin Yitang’s body, outlining her perfect figure. A faint fragrance wafted over, indescribably alluring.

Yu Jingchuan’s Adam’s apple bobbed, a flash of irritation in his eyes.

He thought Lin Yitang was doing it on purpose, deliberately dressing like this to seduce him. Otherwise, why such a coincidence?  Saying the bathroom was leaking was probably a lie!

Lin Yitang had left a very bad impression on him, so Yu Jingchuan wasn’t polite.

His lips were pressed together, his voice carrying a chill, “Lin Yitang, I advise you to stop playing these little tricks. I’m not interested in you, and I will never like a woman like you.

I didn’t hold you accountable for drugging me last time because of your father. He was a martyr who sacrificed for the country, and shouldn’t be talked about because of his daughter.

If you want to continue staying in the Yu family, then be honest and obedient. If I find you using those underhanded tactics again, I won’t be lenient.”

The man’s words caused Lin Yitang’s face to fall. A sarcastic smile appeared on her face, whether mocking Yu Jingchuan or her past self.

Yes, Yu Jingchuan had always disliked her. After they married in her previous life, he had tormented her in bed, and she would need two days to recover each time.  That was probably his only way to vent his disgust towards her.

Fortunately, her rebirth was perfectly timed, otherwise, wouldn’t she be bound to Yu Jingchuan again?

Her eyes turned cold, she said word by word, “Rest assured, I won’t bother you anymore. Actually, you’re not worth liking.”

Lin Yitang spoke calmly, then left without even glancing at him.

Yu Jingchuan was stunned, then remembered Lin Yitang’s conversation with her cousin Liu Xiaotong. Could this also be a tactic of playing hard to get?

He pursed his lips, his eyes coldly glancing at Lin Yitang’s back.

Thinking this method would get his attention?

He wasn’t blind.  He could never develop any fondness for a woman who was only beautiful on the outside, vain and calculating on the inside.

Lin Yitang wasn’t affected by Yu Jingchuan.  After using the toilet, she went back to sleep, not waking up until after eight o’clock.

When she went downstairs, Yu Jingchuan was gone.  Only Chu Peilan was having breakfast. Lin Yitang wasn’t very hungry, so she only drank a bowl of porridge.

After breakfast, she pushed Chu Peilan out to sunbathe.

She had only been in the Yu family for a month. Before, she had focused all her attention on Yu Jingchuan, so she wasn’t very familiar with Chu Peilan.

In her past life, her mother-in-law Chu Peilan had actually been quite good to her. Although she had married into the Yu family through improper means, Chu Peilan hadn’t made things difficult for her and had accepted her as her daughter in law.

However, Lin Yitang in her past life couldn’t see anything, only Yu Jingchuan was in her heart.  She was instigated and insisted on moving out of the Yu family’s old house, hurting Chu Peilan’s feelings, though Chu Peilan didn’t hold it against her.

Thinking back, she had made many mistakes in her past life.

Since she was in the Yu family and receiving their salary, she should take good care of Chu Peilan.

Lin Yitang chatted with Chu Peilan while pushing her wheelchair in the sun.

At that moment, she heard a clear, pleasant voice in the distance.

“Mom!”

Looking in that direction, a girl in a pink plaid dress with two pigtails ran over.

This was Chu Peilan’s youngest daughter, Yu Chengyu, Yu Jingchuan’s only sister.

“Chengyu, why are you back?”

Chu Peilan looked at her daughter with surprise.

“I don’t have classes today, so I came to see you. I missed you!”

Yu Chengyu affectionately put her arm around Chu Peilan and leaned close.

Chu Peilan’s face lit up. She spoiled her youngest daughter the most.  Those two sons weren’t nearly as considerate!

Yu Chengyu smiled, but when she saw Lin Yitang, her smile disappeared, replaced by a snort.

Lin Yitang showed no expression. She knew Yu Chengyu disliked her because, in Yu Chengyu’s heart, Xia Zhuxin was the most suitable person for her brother Yu Jingchuan.

In her past life, she and Yu Chengyu had many conflicts. She had genuinely disliked Yu Chengyu, but in this life, looking back, Yu Chengyu was just being used by Xia Zhuxin.

Lin Yitang’s indifference angered Yu Chengyu even more. She turned away from Lin Yitang and pushed Chu Peilan towards the house.

Along the way, Yu Chengyu chattered to Chu Peilan about school. She had good grades, had just entered Tsinghua University last year, majoring in English, and was always working hard.

Chu Peilan was very pleased, but her brow furrowed tighter, beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and her lips turned pale.

Yu Chengyu worriedly asked, “Mom, are your legs hurting again?”

“It’s nothing, it’s an old problem. I can bear it.”

Chu Peilan said lightly, but Yu Chengyu knew how serious her mother’s leg injury was. Chu Peilan’s paralysis was caused by nerve damage in her legs.

Since the injury, her legs often ached and swelled, a pain that not everyone could endure.

“Mom, I’ll take you to the hospital for a massage!”

Yu Chengyu was about to push Chu Peilan to the hospital.

Chu Peilan quickly waved her hand, “No need to bother. Massages don’t help much. I’m fine.”

Her voice was soft, as if she was trying to endure the pain.

Lin Yitang saw the large beads of sweat rolling down her face and spoke, “Aunt Chu, I know acupuncture for pain relief.

Let me try acupuncture for you?”

Her grandfather was a barefoot doctor, skilled in acupuncture, saving many lives with it.  Their ancestors were said to have included imperial physicians.

Lin Yitang had lived with her grandfather for a while and learned some acupuncture from him.

Before her grandfather died, he passed on his ancestral needles and medical books to her.

Though Lin Yitang had never treated others, she had given her father acupuncture several times.

Her father also had old injuries, sometimes in unbearable pain, and her acupuncture helped alleviate it.

Before Chu Peilan could say anything, Yu Chengyu snorted, “You know acupuncture?

Lin Yitang, do you think you’re like Sister Zhuoxin, a talented graduate of medical school!”

She rolled her eyes, clearly disbelieving Lin Yitang’s ability.

“Chengyu!”

Chu Peilan scolded her daughter, and Yu Chengyu pouted aggrievedly.

Lin Yitang explained to Chu Peilan, “Aunt Chu, my grandfather was a doctor, and I learned some from him. If you trust me, you can let me try.”

Chu Peilan was surprised that Lin Yitang knew acupuncture, but after hesitating, she agreed, “Then I’ll trouble you.”

“Mom, you really believe her! What if she injures your legs?”
