Chapter 133
The blade of the “One Slash” fell, and what was still shattered was the Moon Shadow clone of the Frost Night Fighting Wolf.
The technique of slicing through webs and using shadow manipulation to limit techniques like Shadow Hunt requires meeting various conditions to be executed, so it’s impossible to replicate with every strike.
White Fang intentionally adjusted the landing point of the shadow beneath its feet to minimize the impact of the webs.
The “One Slash” unleashed by the Type I Armor had immense power, rivaling an A-rank attack skill. The sharp blade light continued endlessly, and after cutting down the first Moon Shadow, it immediately surged toward the second one.
The tail of Vebres shot out silk threads, shifting its position mid-air. White Fang immediately swapped positions with another Moon Shadow clone, and in the next moment, a barrage of bullet-like “Silk Thread Shots” descended.
The Frost Night Fighting Wolf kept running forward, narrowly avoiding another wave of silk threads.
The Vebres, in perfect synergy, was like a seasoned warrior. Its skills not only released hidden energy but also embodied many techniques, making it especially difficult to defend against.
White Fang felt the familiar sense of pressure. In the “Training Ground,” when sparring with Senior Ellen, it often experienced this overwhelming, breathless challenge.
It was tricky and uncomfortable, but it had long since gotten used to advancing while bearing such pressure.
The Fang Soldier merged with the shadow of the Frost Night Fighting Wolf’s swift movement, emitting a subtle clicking sound.
“Click.” (This time, you take the lead, little dog.)
“Awoo!” (Leave it to me, Senior Ellen!)
White Fang twisted its body and charged again toward Vebres’s position.
Four Moon Shadows split off from its side, continuously pouncing on the mechanical white spider hanging in mid-air.
Lin Fei frowned slightly, watching. Was this reckless assault, with no regard for lessons learned, the full extent of Mu Huiyue’s tactics?
“One Slash!” he barked sharply, determined that this strike would eliminate the Frost Night Fighting Wolf’s main body.
Vebres raised its sharp limbs once again, slashing out countless chilling beams of light.
Some of these slashes flew toward the webs, while others aimed at the Frost Night Fighting Wolf. No matter which direction it shifted, there was no escaping this round of attacks.
However, White Fang did not dodge or avoid; its main body stepped into the densest shadow and charged forward, facing the challenge head-on.
The Fang Soldier’s figure appeared in front of it, wielding two pitch-black bone blades, and similarly unleashed countless sharp beams of light.
Hidden energy clashed violently in mid-air, and the beams of light flying toward the webs were all countered by the sharp beams from the bone blades, causing a series of explosive sounds.
Ellen flashed forward through the shadows, the bone blades in his hands cutting toward the opponent like lightning, intercepting Vebres’s downward swinging scythe-like limbs.
When it came to experienced warriors, this battlefield was not just about the “Type I Armor.”
The mechanical white spider moved with incredible speed, its forelimbs almost leaving afterimages. However, the bone blades in the skeleton’s hands maintained the same speed and frequency, blocking every attack that descended.
Sharp piercing sounds filled the air, and the harsh explosive bangs from the clash of sharp weapons echoed as both sides exchanged dozens of strikes in the blink of an eye.
Lin Fei, witnessing this scene, widened his eyes slightly.
Unlike the fragile skeletons that shattered with a single touch before, this was clearly the true form of the Fang Soldier.
It simultaneously used two “Bone Blade Piercings” and enhanced them with “Calcification.” After discovering that “Underworld Flame” had no effect on the Type I Armor, it even coated the bone blades with the aura of “Intimidation,” further boosting the skill’s power.
In the calculation scenario of [Gabriel], the Type I Armor’s “One Slash” even easily defeated the ace of Jingzhou University’s Combat Department, the Mantis known for its own “One Slash.”
Yet now, it was blocked by the bone blade of a mere skeleton.
Why did a low-level monarch species like the Fang Soldier, from the clumsy and brainless skeleton family, possess such exquisite combat techniques, able to single-handedly withstand Vebres’s power after the [Synergy] fusion?!
On the battlefield, White Fang swiftly reversed its body at the last moment, stepping onto the shadow and landing steadily on the ground.
According to Senior Ellen’s plan, forcing this mechanical spider into close combat with White Fang’s blade would make it difficult for it to move, and it would have no time to use long-range skills like [Silk Thread Shot] or [Venom].
As for whether Senior Ellen could block the “One Slash,” White Fang was more confident than anyone.
After all, it had fought with Ellen more than anyone else in the [Training Ground].
Senior Ellen’s true strength had already shown signs during the [Bone Spike Assault]. His attacks, compared to simple energy release skills, resembled a finely honed [Sword Style], often unleashing power and technique beyond the skill’s rank.
After evolving, the [Bone Blade Piercing] further displayed this characteristic, as what he gripped was not just a sharp bone, but the [Longsword] of a knight, unyielding and resolute.
White Fang could feel that, in the [Training Ground], Senior Ellen had never truly exerted his full strength. The [Bone Blade Piercing], now clashing against both a single unit and the [Synergy] fusion of two beast companions, was just the tip of the iceberg of his true power.
The enormous white wolf tilted its head, looking up at the fierce battle hanging in mid-air. Four identical Moon Shadow clones appeared beside it.
To fully control the energy and movements of the clones, four was the perfect number that White Fang could manage with precision.
At the same time, in the shadow behind the white wolf, an equal number of pale white skeletons materialized.
The Moon Shadow clones and the skeletal undead stood together in a bustling group, making the entire battlefield feel unexpectedly lively.
A hint of a smile appeared in Mu Huiyue’s eyes as she looked toward the two beast companions still locked in combat in mid-air.
The concert carefully prepared for the Cloud Dream Bear began, starting with the prelude.
“Ellen, Soul Tremor!”
The skeletal undead opened their jawbones in turn, emitting silent soul-screeches.
In mid-air, White Fang’s main body simultaneously unleashed a powerful aura of intimidation, wrapped around several waves of Soul Tremors, sweeping toward Vebres.
The mechanical spider’s movements faltered for a moment, but the soundwaves, affecting the soul, had limited impact on the Type I Armor. Soon, its sharp scythe came slicing through again.
Ellen swung the bone blade to block, half of his skeletal frame falling into the shadows, with thick death mist swirling upward, supporting his efforts to contend with Vebres.
The skeletal undead did not stop their Soul Tremor, and Mu Huiyue waved her hand again, playing the main tune.
“White Fang, maximum power, Eternal Night Echo!”
The Frost Night Fighting Wolves formed by the Moon Shadows howled in unison, creating four staggered waves of Eternal Night Echo. The entire battlefield darkened, as if it had transformed into a cold river under the extreme night.
Vebres seemed to shudder in the deepening cold, its spider legs moving rapidly to support its body.
The distant wolf howls reverberated through the venue, followed by the final strike, the Eternal Night Echo released by White Fang’s main body.
Dark energy wildly gathered in its mouth, faintly producing a wolf-like howling sound as it built up. This was the ultimate killing tactic, using both [Lunar Eclipse Impact] and [Eternal Night Echo] at the same time!
“Type I Armor, dodge!” Lin Fei shouted.
In the standoff, the white spider’s tail released a web of silk. After taking a direct hit from a bone blade thrust, it was propelled by inertia and moved from its original position. The next moment, the energy wave from the Lunar Eclipse Impact pierced through its previous location, tearing apart the [Web] that enveloped the battlefield, and shot straight into the sky.
Boom—!
The spider webs on the battlefield shattered, and the protective system in the spectator area activated. The aftershock of the skill slammed into the protective barrier, creating a piercing, thunderous noise.
Many people instinctively covered their ears. The combined effect of the Soul Tremor and the Eternal Night Echo felt as though a large bell had been struck deep within their souls, causing a sudden tremor in their brains, with their bodies trembling from the lingering reverberations.
Everyone turned their gaze toward Vebres on the battlefield, wondering how the Cloud Dream Bear, who was directly facing the impact, was faring, considering even the spectators had been affected by it.
At the moment of the loud crash, the white spider’s form flickered slightly, like an old television with a poor signal, flickering and distorting with static.
Even though it avoided the energy wave from the Lunar Eclipse Impact, Vebres’s projection was still affected by the invisible sound waves.
The static points multiplied, and the white spider’s shape became increasingly blurry, finally retreating into a misty cloud form.
The small Cloud Dream Bear, resting on the misty cloud, furrowed its brow as the harsh, piercing shrieks continued to echo in its ears. It slowly opened its eyes.
Lin Fei, witnessing this scene, showed an expression of savagery as panic spread, the situation was about to spiral out of control. Dreamlike misty cloud colors appeared in his eyes, and the energy from his Spirit Conduit ability surged toward his contracted beast: “Quick, use Dreamwalking, Cloud Dream Bear!”
“Ellen, White Fang!” Mu Huiyue’s eyes also filled with surging dark light as the powerful dark energy rushed through the contract link toward her two contracted beasts.
All the preparations had been made to create this one instant of opportunity for attack.
Beastmaster Talent, Dark Attribute Enhancement · Combat Resonance!
The White Fang Soldier leaped out from the shadows, its bone blade thrust prying open the Type I Armor’s stance, transforming it back from the shape of a spider’s leg to the original form of metal plates connected by energy lines.
The Frost Night Fighting Wolves recalled all of their Moon Shadow projections. In the continuous release of the Eternal Night Echo, White Fang’s physical energy was pushed to its limits, further enhanced by the Combat Resonance, and a sharp, dark energy storm enveloped its body.
The massive white wolf stepped into the shadow and leaped, like a dark meteor, launching the final charge toward the Cloud Dream Bear.
Ultimate Enhanced Shadow Hunt · Precision Hit!
White Fang’s speed was so fast that the Cloud Dream Bear didn’t have time to fall back into a deep slumber, and the expanding misty clouds had already dissipated in the impact wave of the Shadow Hunt.
The small pink Dream Bear fell to the ground, losing all consciousness.
Lin Fei stood frozen in place.
The referee stepped forward to check the status of the two contracted beasts. The Cloud Dream Bear had lost consciousness, thus losing its combat ability, while the Type I Armor remained in the form of metal plates, hovering in place, as if the recent battle had nothing to do with it.
According to the battle rules set by the Beastmaster Association, a “Type-Armored” intellectual attribute beast doesn’t have independent combat ability. When the “Fusion Form” state is broken in a tag-team battle, the beast is considered to have lost its combat ability.
“Cloud Dream Bear and Type I Armor are unable to fight, White Fang Soldier and Frost Night Fighting Wolves win.”
The referee raised their hand toward the black-haired girl, “The winner of this battle is Mu Huiyue!”
“Woof!” Exhausted, White Fang stumbled, almost falling, but quickly regained its footing and turned to run toward its favorite Beastmaster.
Ellen retracted his jet-black bone blade and slipped back into the shadows to return to his Beastmaster’s side.
Mu Huiyue smiled, stepping forward to embrace the skeleton’s shoulder on one side and the fluffy head of the white wolf on the other.
“Well done! That was an excellent battle… Thank you both for your hard work, Ellen, White Fang.”
