Chapter 1: Time-Travel Warning + Space Upgrade
Brain storage zone!!!
Beijing Suburb Villa, City A
In the spacious living room, Yun Ruoxi and Mu Ruxue were cuddled together on the sofa watching a Korean drama, chatting animatedly about the plot.
Suddenly, the TV screen—previously playing smoothly—cut off mid-scene. First came a crackling burst of static.
Immediately after, a line of glaring blood-red text appeared on the screen, the color so vivid it was jarring to the eyes:
[Time-travel countdown: 30 days. Timer starts now — 29 days, 59 minutes, 50 seconds!!!]
The two froze on the spot, eyes locked on the abrupt message flashing on the screen. Their minds went blank. Neither knew how to respond.
Yun Ruoxi’s first thought was that someone was playing a prank. But when she instinctively extended her spiritual sense to check her personal space, she was startled to find the same red message floating in it. Her heart skipped a beat—this was definitely not a joke.
She quickly turned to Mu Ruxue, only to see the same shocked expression on her friend’s face.
Mu Ruxue spoke first, her voice trembling slightly, “My system gave the same alert… Looks like it’s real.”
Yun Ruoxi took a deep breath and replied slowly, “My space too…”
Both of them had grown up together in an orphanage. After reaching adulthood, they started a business together. But more importantly—they each possessed something far beyond the ordinary.
Yun Ruoxi had a personal space, discovered when she was five years old, hidden inside a jade pendant given to her by the orphanage director.
The director said that when Yun Ruoxi was sent to the orphanage, the jade pendant was hanging from her neck.
Because she was so young back then, the director kept the pendant for her and returned it when she was older.
At first, Yun Ruoxi treated the pendant as a clue to her birth parents and guarded it carefully.
But one day, while playing on a slide, she accidentally landed headfirst and scraped her face and neck. Her blood dripped onto the pendant—and surprisingly activated the space inside.
Since that day, the space remained exactly the same as when it was first triggered. It had never changed in all these years.
Until just now. To her surprise, a traditional-style courtyard appeared next to the villa inside her space.
The moment the time-travel warning appeared, her space changed. No matter how she looked at it, something was definitely off.
Mu Ruxue, similarly, had awakened a “Godly Wealth System” at the age of five. As long as she kept spending money like a gold-digger, she could generate endless funds.
Each girl had kept her secret at first, always suspicious of the other.
Eventually, when both secrets were revealed, they made a pact—lock it down, and never betray each other.
That pact had lasted twenty years.
Now, at 25 years old, one of them had a magical storage space, and the other had inexhaustible wealth. The two began traveling the world, stockpiling supplies wherever they went.
Over the years, they’d been to countless places, hoarding resources at every stop.
Others never understood their obsession, but looking back now, it seemed almost fated.
Mu Ruxue swallowed hard and looked seriously at Yun Ruoxi. “Xixi, we’ve got 30 days left. Should we go harder? We’ve stockpiled a lot over the years, but resources are never too much. Let’s focus on non-renewables this time.”
Yun Ruoxi understood instantly. Mu Ruxue was referring to things that couldn’t be created or replenished in the space—so she nodded decisively. “Alright. Let’s split up and gather as much as we can.”
With a quick agreement, they each took action.
Mu Ruxue, being the more impulsive one, dashed off first to stock up at a fabric factory.
Yun Ruoxi, on the other hand, chose to enter her space and inspect the newly-appeared courtyard.
The moment she stepped inside, she immediately sensed that the spiritual energy in the space was denser than ever before.
Her space was vast. She’d had it for 20 years and still hadn’t found its boundaries.
It resembled a miniature Earth—plains, mountains, rivers, oceans… every terrain imaginable.
Originally, the space had no livable structures, so she’d built a mobile villa to use inside.
In this space, she was the ruler. Electricity made sense—she had installed solar panels—but the running water still baffled her.
But she decided not to overthink it. After all, she was the one benefiting.
Inside the space, she not only planted crops but also grew fruit trees and medicinal herbs, and raised livestock.
Whatever she could think of—chances were, she already had it stored inside.
She had carefully selected a stretch of flat land and transformed it into a fully developed estate.
Most of the untouched areas, meanwhile, were still covered with the original vegetation native to the space.
As for the newly appeared courtyard—it was a three-section traditional Chinese compound.
The first section housed a pharmacy, a treasure pavilion, a warehouse, and a kitchen.
The second section served as the owner’s living quarters, consisting of five distinct rooms, each uniquely decorated.
The third section contained a study, another warehouse, a pill refinement room, and a celestial treasure hall.
She soon discovered that the first and third courtyards had many overlapping features. After mentally linking with the space using her spiritual sense, she learned that everything in the third courtyard came from the cultivation world.
Her space, while vast, had never held anything truly mystical—other than the spiritual energy that sped up plant growth. It didn’t even contain spiritual spring water like those described in cultivation novels.
But this newly appeared compound was different. It not only held items from the cultivation realm—it even included spiritual spring water.
In the very center of the third courtyard sat a well. Carved into the stone at its mouth were three characters: “Spiritual Spring Water.”
Beside it was a multicolored pond that, according to the description, had the legendary ability to revive the dead and regrow flesh from bone.
With these two powerful treasures at her disposal, Yun Ruoxi felt a great weight lift from her heart. Even if she did end up time-traveling, it suddenly didn’t seem all that terrifying anymore.
Fascinated by the cultivation items, she headed straight for the pill refinement room.
The moment she pushed the door open, she was greeted by a grand pill furnace in the center, and three walls lined with herbal cabinets.
Yun Ruoxi went through the labels one by one—Detox Pills, Hemostatic Pills, Marrow-Cleansing Pills, and more. Inside the cabinets were numerous rare medicinal herbs, many of them aged for years.
After exiting the pill room, she walked directly into the Celestial Treasure Hall.
As soon as she stepped in, the glowing light from the treasures nearly blinded her.
Once her eyes adjusted, she could finally take in the scene: the room was filled with all kinds of magical treasures—Invisibility Talismans, Protective Jade Amulets, Flying Swords, and many other mystical items.
Even if she ignored the rest, just the Invisibility Talismans alone were enough to make her heart race.
Realizing it was almost time, Yun Ruoxi selected a few of those talismans, left the space, and made her way straight to the wholesale market.
Many people there recognized her. As soon as she appeared, a crowd swarmed around her, enthusiastically trying to sell her their goods.
Unbothered, Yun Ruoxi calmly said, “I have a list here. Feel free to pass it around. If any of you have these items in stock, you can deliver them to my warehouse. I’ll pay on the spot—cash for goods.”
The moment she finished speaking, the entire market erupted into chaos as every vendor rushed to check their inventory and prepare deliveries.
With everything at the wholesale market now underway, all Yun Ruoxi had to do was wait at the warehouse to receive her supplies.
Her list included a massive variety of goods, ranging from everyday essentials to instant foods—everything one could think of.
Next, she headed to her second destination: the largest beauty and cosmetics market in City A, intending to stock up on as many products as possible.
Seeing the ancient-style courtyard in her space had given her a hunch—she was most likely going to time-travel into ancient times.
As for the specific dynasty, that was still unknown.
Just like she did at the wholesale market, Yun Ruoxi used the same method here—and bought out the entire inventory of the beauty market.
