Chapter 2: Hoarding Frenzy — Free Shopping Really Is Addictive~
City A Industrial Park

Mu Ruxue was moving at lightning speed, contacting one factory after another. Anything not already stocked in their spaces—whether fabrics, cotton, home textiles, sanitary pads, or handicrafts—was immediately added to her purchase list.

Inside the factories, she negotiated fiercely with managers, speaking so quickly it was hard to keep up:
“I’ll take everything you’ve got! And for the next 28 days, I want all your production lines prioritized for my orders. Price isn’t an issue—just make sure it’s fast and the quality is top-notch!”

Her aura made it seem like she was ready to buy out the entire factory.

Once the factory deals were finalized, Mu Ruxue didn’t even pause to breathe—she headed straight to the automobile plant.

Compared to car dealerships, she much preferred the bold efficiency of dealing with manufacturers directly.

At the plant, she waved her hand like a boss:
“One thousand units of each model! New energy vehicles, off-roaders, freight trucks—don’t leave a single type out!”

The staff were completely dumbfounded. Before they could even recover, she dropped off her delivery address and left in a rush. The contact person was left standing there in a daze—if not for the constant alerts of money landing in their account, they might’ve thought they were being scammed.

From the auto plant, Mu Ruxue dashed over to a shipyard.

There, her eyes sparkled as she scanned the rows of vessels:
“Cruise ships, speedboats, cargo ships—I’ll take all of them!”

The shipyard manager stared wide-eyed. Who was this goddess of fortune?! If production capacity weren’t limited, he’d have sold her the whole shipyard just to see how deep her pockets really went.

Once both women completed their respective shopping sprees, they regrouped.

Excited beyond belief, Mu Ruxue waved her hands animatedly as she shared her victories, while Yun Ruoxi nodded along, her own sense of urgency easing ever so slightly.

After listening, Yun Ruoxi furrowed her brow and said thoughtfully, “We’re still missing self-defense gear. We don’t know which era we’ll time-travel to, so safety comes first.”

Mu Ruxue slapped her thigh and responded immediately, “Let’s raid W-Country next, then hit up E-Hook Nation right after. By then, we should have just about everything.”

A glint of determination flashed in Yun Ruoxi’s eyes. “Alright—three days from now, we move.”

Three days later, the streets of W-Country saw the arrival of two insanely wealthy shopaholics. The news of two “rich fools with money to burn” spread like wildfire.

They swept through shops like twin tornados, buying out entire inventories wherever they went.

But as more and more people started following their movements, they had no choice but to leave earlier than planned.

Of course, before they left, they had already secretly loaded most of W-Country’s premium goods into Yun Ruoxi’s space—without anyone noticing.

Once they set foot in E-Hook Nation, it was time for Phase Two of the hoarding spree.

During the day, the two scoured every street and alley, grabbing all kinds of daily necessities—if they saw it, they took it. No hesitation.

At night, they slapped on invisibility talismans and slipped silently into military bases like ghosts.

Mu Ruxue’s eyes gleamed with excitement as she whispered, “Xixi, quick—look at this!”

Yun Ruoxi carefully stowed away guns, ammunition, military helicopters—even warships—into her space.

Their wild spree plunged E-Hook Nation into chaos. Just as the government prepared to launch a full investigation, the two casually disappeared without a trace.

But not before raiding the largest port and logistics center in the country, wiping it clean under the cover of night.

By the time they returned to the villa, only three days remained until the time-travel countdown hit zero.

As the deadline loomed closer, anxiety surged in both their hearts like an unstoppable tide. The only way to cope was by endlessly hoarding more supplies.

In those final three days, they stockpiled vast quantities of ready-to-eat meals, and downloaded countless movies and dramas from the internet.

They even bought out every book from every library in City A.

On the very last day, the two refused to step outside, instead going on a download frenzy at home. They collected every kind of recipe and manual imaginable—no matter the use. They even acquired a complete set of specialized materials through certain channels.

As Yun Ruoxi sorted through the documents, she asked, “Did we stock up on nail tools?”

Without looking up, Mu Ruxue replied, “Yep. Enough for ten thousand people to do their nails for ten lifetimes.”

Yun Ruoxi let out a sigh of relief and chuckled, “Good. I love my thick taro milk tea—can’t survive without it. Did we stock that too?”

Mu Ruxue rolled her eyes. “Of course we did. Enough for you to open a nationwide chain and run it for ten lifetimes.”

Then she asked, “What about my 8+1 combo?”

Yun Ruoxi patted her chest confidently. “Absolutely. Red wine, white wine, huangjiu—I got enough to keep you tipsy for the next ten lives.”

All day long, they went back and forth like this, confirming every single item—only once they heard the other say “yes” could they feel a little more at ease.

Mu Ruxue finally checked her system balance. After the insane buying spree, there were so many zeros behind the number that she couldn’t even count them.

Looking up, she said seriously to Yun Ruoxi, “Let’s leave one final sum for the orphanage. As for the rest… let’s buy up as much gold and silver as we can.”

Yun Ruoxi thought of the recent changes in her space and nodded in agreement. “Gold is always a hard currency, no matter the time.”

The two of them then drove around City A, sweeping through every gold store and buying out all the gold they could find. Finally, they went to the bank and exchanged a large sum of cash for gold bars.

Even after preparing such a massive stockpile of supplies, they still felt like they were missing something.

With only three hours left on the countdown in the space, they returned to the villa and decided to relax a bit, soaking in a warm bath to unwind.

Mu Ruxue’s system only had a cashback function—it didn’t include a storage space.

Yun Ruoxi thought of the newly appeared courtyard in her space. The third section of the compound was filled with items from the cultivation world. There might just be a storage ring there.

She rushed into the warehouse in the third courtyard and quickly found a storage ring.

Although it wasn’t as good as her space—it had no planting function and couldn’t store living things—it had an enormous storage capacity of a full 100,000 cubic meters, more than enough for hoarding supplies.

When Yun Ruoxi came out of the space, she saw Mu Ruxue waiting eagerly outside.

Smiling, she handed the ring to Mu Ruxue. “Here, take it. This is already the largest one I could find.”

Mu Ruxue jumped up with joy and hugged Yun Ruoxi tightly. “This is amazing! You’re the best, sis—I love you, love you!”

Seeing Mu Ruxue so happy, Yun Ruoxi couldn’t help but laugh too. The anxiety that had been pressing on her for days seemed to melt away in that moment.

Mu Ruxue said a bit gloomily, “My system seems pretty useless aside from spending money.”

Yun Ruoxi quickly comforted her. “Don’t say that! All this stuff we got was thanks to your money. It’s not like it came for free.”

Mu Ruxue still looked a little down. “It’s not the same. Your space upgraded and now has cultivation treasures. Even without spending money, you can stock up a ton.”

Yun Ruoxi looked seriously into her eyes and said, “Xiao Xue, don’t think like that. Your money made a huge difference. If I had to rely on just my space, it would’ve taken me forever to gather this much.”

Mu Ruxue was so touched her eyes turned red. She held Yun Ruoxi’s hand and said, “Ruoxi, being besties with you in this lifetime is really my blessing.”

Yun Ruoxi sighed with a smile. “I should be the one saying that. Having you as my best friend is my blessing.”

After Mu Ruxue bound the ring with her soul, Yun Ruoxi began moving things out of the space.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to bring Mu Ruxue into the space—it was just that the space didn’t allow anyone except Yun Ruoxi to enter.

So all she could do was bring items out and let Mu Ruxue store them into her ring.

Grains, cooked food, vehicles… she took a bit of everything out and patiently helped Mu Ruxue sort and pack them.

The storage ring was soul-bound, which meant it would follow Mu Ruxue’s soul even after they traveled through time. That was one of the main reasons Yun Ruoxi chose it for her.

With only one hour remaining, Mu Ruxue somehow dug up a novel titled The Stunning Favorite Consort.

She was totally engrossed in it and insisted Yun Ruoxi read it with her. “Ruoxi, look! The female supporting characters have the same names as us!”

Yun Ruoxi had originally wanted to refuse, but hearing that piqued her curiosity. What were the odds?

The two huddled together to read—and the more they read, the more absorbed they became. Even as the countdown on the TV screen turned bright red, they didn’t notice.

Engrossed in the story’s twists and turns, they didn’t realize that the moment of their time travel had already arrived.
