Chapter 13: You Have a Crush on Me?
Actually, they didn’t date, but she felt that saying they did would save a lot of trouble.
Then she thought, if she had a boyfriend, would Fu Yun be more at ease and stop treating her like a thief with her heart set on Shen Yu?
Yue Zifeng exclaimed in surprise, “Which foreign stinky boy is it? What does he look like? Foreigner or Chinese? Why didn’t you bring him back for us to see?”
“We broke up.” Making up a lie was easy.
“How come you broke up?”
Shuangxu disliked his gossip, took a sip of her drink, and said, “Just playing around.”
As soon as she said that, the air went silent for a few seconds.
Shuangxu felt a rather imposing gaze fall upon her.
She looked over and met He Tingzhou’s eyes.
What are you looking at?
Shuangxu didn’t understand what was so shocking about that statement.
Every single one of the young masters present, without exception, had played with more women than the men she knew.
She was usually too well-behaved, and Shen Yu protected her like a little princess in a castle. Such words coming from her mouth shocked all her brothers at once.
He Tingzhou’s deep eyes stared at her, intrigued: “How many have you played with?”
That’s a bit too forward, isn’t it?
Shuangxu threw the hot potato back at him: “Brother Tingzhou, how many have you played with?”
Years of experience weren’t for nothing. He Tingzhou wasn’t easily caught off guard. His thin lips curled slightly: “I don’t play with men.”
…Alright.
“Oh my, little sister, you’ve really grown up.” Yue Zifeng sighed with emotion, his mood no less than when his own little sister slapped him for the first time at the age of three.
“When you were so little, in the blink of an eye, you’ve learned to play with men’s feelings.”
Shuangxu said, “Didn’t you play with women when you were twenty-two?”
“Damn. You’re right.” Yue Zifeng laughed, “What kind of man does my little sister like? Tell your brother, and I’ll find you a good one.”
Shuangxu ‘s ideal type already had a living, perfect template in her mind.
Gentle, kind, and always patient with her.
But she couldn’t say it, so she lied.
“I like wild, domineering, unreasonable men.”
“Oh.” Yue Zifeng suddenly grinned mischievously, “Aren’t you just describing your Brother Tingzhou’s ID number?”
Shuangxu was stunned herself.
She was just saying the opposite of Shen Yu, not intending to allude to He Tingzhou.
Everyone around was laughing, and someone jokingly said to He Tingzhou, “Hey, Uncle Zhou, Sister Shuangxu has her eyes on you, what do you say?”
Shuangxu turned her neck along with them.
The private room didn’t have any fancy lights, the warm orange light was hazy, casting a soft glow on people.
He Tingzhou leaned against the sofa, his smoke-blue shirt unbuttoned halfway, his thin and sharp lips held a cigarette, just like that, in the dim light of the atmosphere lamp, he squinted at her.
Shuangxu was about to speak when he took the cigarette from his mouth with two fingers, tapped it against the edge of the table, the ash falling into the light brown whiskey, he said in a slightly hoarse, low, magnetic voice: “You have a crush on me?”
Shuangxu : “…”
What a huge misunderstanding.
He tapped the cigarette against the edge of the table with his hand, the ash falling into the light brown whiskey, he said in a drawling tone: “Forget it. I don’t play with my friends’ little sisters.”
Who wants you to play with them?
She couldn’t possibly have a crush on He Tingzhou.
She wanted to explain, but thinking about Fu Yun, maybe letting everyone misunderstand that she had a crush on He Tingzhou would make things easier.
Besides, she knew He Tingzhou knew her little secret.
He said that on purpose to tease her.
So she simply didn’t explain, and replied, “Oh, then I’m heartbroken.”
Yue Zifeng laughed himself silly, not taking it seriously at all. With He Tingzhou’s shameless, bullying little sister all the time, he’d be possessed to have a crush on him.
“Pretend all you want, when did you ever have any morals?”
He Tingzhou didn’t get angry: “How do you know I don’t?”
“You have a what?” Yue Zifeng was one hundred and twenty percent certain, “If you had that thing, you’d be my dad from now on!”
People with sisters at home are especially conscious of being a brother. Before twelve o’clock, Yue Zifeng urged everyone to leave.
They all had been drinking, and Yue Zifeng was looking for someone to send Shuangxu home. He caught sight of He Tingzhou and pushed Shuangxu towards him: “Just right, you didn’t drink, you send my little sister home.”
After the last time she was tricked, how could Shuangxu dare to owe him a favor?
“No need, I’ll take a…”
Before she could finish her refusal, He Tingzhou lowered his eyelids and glanced at her: “What, you want to take advantage of me under the cover of darkness?”
Shuangxu : ?
She was baffled: “I don’t.”
“Then why are you afraid to ride in my car.” He Tingzhou looked like he was saying, “Don’t explain, you’re just lusting after my good looks.”
He hooked his finger on his custom-made coat, which was casually hanging on the back of the sofa, and threw it over his shoulder, biting his cigarette, he walked out with a relaxed and casual gait.
Shuangxu could only follow.
Until she got into the passenger seat, she still didn’t understand what logic that was.
Not riding in his car, means wanting to take advantage of him?
Then whoever wants to stay away from him, doesn’t that mean they love him to death?
She couldn’t figure it out, so she gave up. He Tingzhou was always unpredictable.
For example, he didn’t drink, but he came to the noisiest place in the world, the bar, to sleep.
His way of thinking might just be to go against the grain.
He Tingzhou put out his cigarette before getting in the car, and threw his suit jacket over to the passenger seat, probably forgetting that someone was there today, a habitual action.
Shuangxu was hit by the cold, heavy aura of his clothes ->>
She turned her head and glanced at him.
“Take it.” He started the car, holding the steering wheel with one hand, smoothly sliding out of the parking space onto the main road.
The sports car didn’t have a backseat, and she couldn’t leave his clothes behind, so she had to fold them and put them on her lap, neatly arranged.
It was impolite to receive a favor without saying anything, but she couldn’t think of anything to talk to him about.
Talk about life? Her life and his were worlds apart, she had no idea where to start.
Talk about the liquid hydrogen drone project? Come on, it’s after work.
She couldn’t talk about the rumors about him, like how he almost killed someone…
Not all of the young masters in Yancheng were as outstanding as Shen Yu, there were many spoiled second-generation rich kids who got into trouble and could rely on their families to settle it. Like the infamous playboy from the Zheng family.
She knew very little about He Tingzhou, only hearing some gossip from others.
Commander He had once helped to break up an international drug trafficking ring on the China-Myanmar border. Those people were ruthless and had kidnapped He Tingzhou and his mother, who was only five or six years old at the time. His mother had died then.
This should have been a taboo subject, no one dared to mention it in front of He Tingzhou, and she had only heard a few words from some men who had been drinking too much at a banquet.
She had gone back and curiously asked Shen Yu, who had knocked her head and said, “So you love to Dating, should I change your name to Song Dating?”
So in this place called Yancheng, He Tingzhou could do whatever he wanted, he could be as reckless as he wanted.
The surname He was a mountain built with power, a powerful family for three generations, with outstanding military achievements, he had the capital to tear the sky apart if he was unhappy.
Just as she was lost in thought, He Tingzhou’s hand reached out to her without warning.
She flinched, instinctively dodging, her back pressed against the car door.
Noticing her startled reaction, He Tingzhou’s eyelids fluttered slightly: “What are you dodging?”
He reached out and opened the storage box in front of the passenger seat.
The dim light came in from outside, that finger bone was slender, the back of his hand was full of tendons, a wild sense of strength. The blue veins snaked upwards, disappearing into the luxurious shirt sleeve.
She watched him take out a box of candy from inside, peel one and throw it into his mouth, sneering: “It’s me who should be afraid of being taken advantage of, isn’t it?”
“…” She silently sat back down, “I’m not afraid of taking advantage of you.”
He Tingzhou’s black eyes glanced over, he let out a low hum: “Try it then.”
How dare she?
The key is, she’s not stupid.
The car stopped outside the Shen family’s gate, she got out of the car without a second’s delay, put the folded jacket on the seat, waved her hand: “Brother Tingzhou, goodbye.”
Then she quickly ran into the house.
