Chapter 5:The Heartless Girl

When Shuangxu returned to the main hall, Chen Peiran was still there.

She had been upstairs for almost forty minutes, and Chen Peiran had waited for forty minutes.

As soon as the elevator arrived, Chen Peiran turned his head quickly.

Chen Peiran wasn’t from Yancheng. He had studied abroad on a government scholarship, and coming from a third-tier city, he had no idea about the top circles in Yancheng.

He had been back in the country for a few years, and Shuangxu had just happened to be away. He didn’t know that Shu Yang, his junior high school classmate, actually had a lot of connections.

Not only was she the daughter of Song Si, the director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but she was also the adopted sister of the young master of the Shen family.

Shuangxu had planned to tell Shu Yang the results later and see if there were any other options.

She didn’t expect Xiao Liao to be such a loudmouth.

“Wait until I get out of the hospital, and I’ll skin him alive and slice him into sashimi!”

Shu Yang always believed in parting ways amicably, everyone going their separate ways, why make it so bloody and undignified?

Chen Peiran was the first to make her break this rule.

When she was a child, she had many changing interests, and Shen Yu always took her little hobbies seriously. Swimming, horseback riding, archery, he taught her everything himself.

But he had never dabbled in baking, so he hired a teacher specifically for her. Shuangxu learned a little, and then her three-minute enthusiasm shifted to swimming.

However, every year on the birthday of the Shen family, especially Shen Yu’s birthday, the tradition of her making a cake by hand remained.

Shuangxu hadn’t been back to Yancheng for five years, she didn’t appear in public, and the rumors that had been buried in the dust were dug up again with her return.

In the past few years, she was abroad, and she didn’t come back every year for Shen Yu’s birthday, but this year there was no reason to avoid it anymore.

In the past few days back, she didn’t pay attention to any of the gossip outside, and she decided today that no matter what strange looks she received, she would pretend to be blind.

Shuangxu Order brought the cake to the table, seeing that there were already seven or eight cakes on it, each more extravagant and exquisite than the last.

She turned back, walked over to the twins, and stared at them quietly. “A thing for what?”
