“Beyond the Boundaries” Chapter 58

Chapter 58: I’m Drunk

Shuangxu instinctively reached out with both hands to grab He Tingzhou’s hand. Just then, the woman cried out, and she instinctively tightened her grip.

He Tingzhou’s hand was warm, perhaps because she had just washed her hands and they were cool, but in any case, the temperature difference made her feel a warmth in her palm.

His hand bones were large, and his knuckles were hard when clenched.

She realized what she was doing and quickly released He Tingzhou’s fingers, which she had been tightly gripping.

Her eyes were covered, and the sounds of the couple’s kissing penetrated her ears. It was no better than watching.

The man had noticed someone was there long ago. Seeing that it was an exceptionally beautiful girl, and the man next to her was even more handsome than him, he didn’t know if he was intentionally showing off or what his psychology was, but he became even more enthusiastic.

If she took He Tingzhou’s hand away from her eyes, she would have to face that unrestrained and wild scene directly.

But maintaining this posture, with him covering her eyes and listening to the live broadcast, seemed even stranger.

Shuangxu was at a loss for a moment, and after a long struggle, she chose to turn her back to them.

Her eyes were released from under He Tingzhou’s palm, and his shirt appeared in her field of vision. It was a neat and upright white, coated with a gilded texture by the deliberately dim and ambiguous lights of the bar.

As she looked up, she met He Tingzhou’s downcast eyes.

Those eyes were as deep and fathomless as a bottomless abyss. Sensing that they were too close, she wanted to take a half step back.

He Tingzhou hooked his arm around her waist and pulled her back without hesitation.

The sudden physical contact made Shuangxu’s whole body stiff, and even her breathing was off. Then she heard him say, “What, you want to go over and join them?”

“I didn’t.” Shuangxu felt uncomfortable everywhere. Her mind was dizzy from the alcohol, and she silently pushed the sturdy arm away from her waist.

He Tingzhou put his hands in his pockets, still in that casual manner.

She didn’t move again, staring at the area near his chest, still able to feel his gaze, like feathers, slowly moving across her face.

Every inch it passed left a trace.

He Tingzhou’s low, deep voice slowly fell: “Song Shuangxu, your ears are red.”

He didn’t say anything, but as soon as he did, Shuangxu felt like her ears were on fire, the flames spreading upwards fiercely, and her face couldn’t escape either.

It wasn’t her fault, was it? What normal person could see such filth and remain unmoved?

Oh, he could.

“I’m drunk.” She pretended to be calm.

“Really?” He Tingzhou raised his hand and made a “V” sign in front of her eyes. “What’s this?”

“…” Shuangxu opened her eyes and lied, “Three.”

He Tingzhou suddenly laughed, his whole chest vibrating. It must be because they were too close, and Shuangxu felt that the vibration subtly transmitted to her.

The hallway to the bathroom was too narrow, blocked by the couple who were clinging to each other. The remaining narrow space could be squeezed through if you squeezed a little, but she really didn’t want to get close to them, and she had to say to them, “Excuse me.”

If He Tingzhou hadn’t been there, she might have been able to remain unmoved. With him there, it only made her feel more awkward.

He Tingzhou had a thick skin, and seeing his relaxed look, he seemed to be enjoying himself.

Shuangxu endured the awkward situation for a while, deciding that she should just go back to the bathroom.

But He Tingzhou blocked her way back.

“Can you move aside?” she said softly. “I need to go.”

He Tingzhou’s raven-black eyelashes drooped slightly, and he looked at her silently for a while before stepping aside, making way for her.

She went back into the bathroom, and He Tingzhou raised his eyes and glanced at the couple who were so lustful that they didn’t care about the occasion. In his casual gaze, there was a cold disgust.

“So you love to perform, why don’t you go on stage outside and perform?”

The man, who could get excited in public, was naturally not someone who cared about his face. He said with a lewd smile, “You love to watch so much, bring your girlfriend with you.”

He Tingzhou snorted, his sarcasm obvious: “With your little capital, what’s there to see? You’re so shameless, you’re making a fool of yourself here. If I were you, I would have castrated myself at the age of three, so as not to be inferior when I grow up.”

The man’s fatal flaw was hit, his face turned green. Seeing his height and physique, he knew he couldn’t fight him. He couldn’t even make a fool of himself, so he quickly pulled up his pants, cursed a few obscenities, and left.

The woman rarely saw a handsome man with such an excellent appearance. She looked He Tingzhou up and down, her eyes full of charm as she threw him a wink: “Handsome…”

He Tingzhou raised his eyelids coldly: “Wipe the ground clean. Get out.”

Shuangxu played a game in the bathroom to pass the time, and when she felt it was about time, she went out.

It was quiet outside. The couple and He Tingzhou were gone. She breathed a sigh of relief.

When she returned to the private room, Bai Qingmei and the others hadn’t come back yet. She sat down and drank slowly by herself.

She had originally thought that she was only two parts drunk, sober enough to go to the meeting, but after sitting for a while, she began to feel dizzy and a little sleepy.

She rested her chin on her hand and slumped several times. Her consciousness became blurry afterwards.

Bai Qingmei called her twice, but she didn’t wake up: “Shuangxu is drunk? She didn’t drink much.”

Zhou Sheng’an picked up the wine bottle on the table and looked at it: “She got the wrong wine. This one has a strong aftertaste.”

Shuangxu could only hear someone talking, like they were behind a glass cover, and she couldn’t hear clearly. Then she felt something wrapping around her waist, binding her tightly, pulling her away.

Her consciousness was like a puddle of mud, but her will to survive was very strong. She struggled and resisted with all her might.

Someone seemed to be laughing beside her: “She looks like a quiet little girl, why is she so rowdy when she’s drunk?”

He Tingzhou clamped her waist, looked down at his legs, which had been kicked several times, and clicked his tongue: “Such a bad drinking habit.”

He picked up Shuangxu’s legs, simply scooped her up horizontally, and carried her out.

Shuangxu only felt herself lifted into the air, bouncing like she was floating on the sea. She followed her instinct to survive, wrapping her arms around the huge piece of driftwood, leaning against it.

Xu Zhen was already waiting outside the bar. Seeing her, he immediately opened the backseat door. He helped He Tingzhou into the car, but as he tried to stand up, she wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him like a vine.

He Tingzhou propped his hand against the car door, maintaining a bent posture, looking down at her.

She slept soundly, oblivious, as if she were holding a pillow.

Behind them was the noise of the bar. On the quiet street, cars occasionally passed by, their headlights flashing.

The car bumped slightly as it went over a speed bump. Shuangxu opened her eyes drowsily, looking out the window.

The night was bustling and dazzling, neon lights flashing by, connecting into a colorful film.

Her eyes blinked slowly, closing and opening again. After watching for a while, her muddled mind gained a little clarity.

This angle…

The texture of this seat…

She suddenly tensed up, slowly turning her head, seeing a sharp jawline, then, above it, a mountain-like, straight nose, and a pair of dark, quiet eyes.

“Awake, princess?”

She jumped off He Tingzhou like a startled cat, her drunken, weak body sliding down. He Tingzhou raised her with a knee, holding her legs and pulling her back.

“What’s this? Did my legs suddenly grow thorns?”
