I picked up a little deaf boy.
The system told me he was a villain and that I should get rid of him quickly.
The boy cried on the spot.
Pitifully tugging at the corner of my clothes, he was extremely aggrieved.
“Brother, don’t leave me. I’ll be good. Please, you can do whatever you want with me.”
Looking at the boy’s beautiful little face, I swallowed hard and agreed.
But later…
He pressed me against the window and bullied me again and again.
Tears flowed uncontrollably down my face.
I begged him to let me go.
He, however, ripped off his hearing aid with a seductive smile.
“What? Not enough? Brother, you’re so greedy. Baby, be good, open your mouth. Let your wife teach you how to kiss.”

After visiting my mom at the psychiatric hospital, it was already dark outside.
I checked the time and told the driver to quickly head home.
But just as we were driving halfway up the mountain, someone suddenly jumped out from the bushes and blocked the road.
In the middle of winter, the boy was wearing very thin clothing—a loose white shirt paired with hospital-issued pants from the psychiatric ward. He wasn’t even wearing shoes, shivering pitifully from the cold.
Feeling a bit soft-hearted, I got out of the car.
The boy looked about seventeen or eighteen, but his appearance was extremely delicate. His skin was pale, his lips were a vibrant red, and under his beautiful almond-shaped eyes were small red tear moles, which made him look both captivating yet not overly feminine.
As soon as I approached, the boy immediately came closer.
He gently hooked my finger, and I heard his slightly hoarse voice in my ear.
“Brother[1]Not blood related, but an address to someone older than you. It was Gege in Chinese please save me. I really have nowhere else to go.”
Seeing his actions, I raised an eyebrow and pretended not to understand what he was saying.
“Save you? How? You’re wearing psychiatric hospital clothes. How about I send you back? Don’t delay your treatment.”
As expected, the moment I mentioned sending him back to the hospital, he panicked.
His eyes reddened, and tears threatened to fall.
He became even more fragile.
“I don’t want to go back there. There are bad people there. I’m not sick, really, I’m not lying to you. Brother, please take me in, or I’ll really die.”
Hearing this, I didn’t respond right away.
Instead, I examined him carefully, trying to discern whether his words were truthful.
It was then that I noticed he was wearing a hearing aid, and there were marks from restraints on his neck and wrists. There were even cigarette burns on his collarbone.
A little deaf boy, covered in injuries, had escaped to this remote area. If I left him out here all night, wouldn’t he freeze to death?

Thinking about this, I felt moved.
Should I take him home?
As soon as this thought crossed my mind, a cold mechanical voice echoed in my head.
“Host, you should think this through. The boy in front of you is the number one villain in this world. If you want to redeem him, it won’t be easy. I suggest you throw him away while you still can. Even if you don’t help him, he won’t die, though his life will be miserable.”
Number one villain? This boy?
I was a bit stunned hearing this from the system.
About a month ago, I had inexplicably bound to a redemption system. It promised that if I agreed to redeem the villains of this world, I’d be able to walk again.
Of course, if I failed to complete the task within five years, I’d be back in a wheelchair.
When I was seven, I was in a car accident. My leg nerves were damaged, and the doctors said I’d never walk again.
Now, someone was offering me a chance to walk, so I immediately agreed.
The system didn’t lie. As soon as I agreed, my legs regained feeling.
As for redeeming someone, the system and I were both lazy. We figured we’d choose the easiest villain to save, thinking we could complete the task in a few months.
But now, this boy… according to the system, he was hard to redeem.
There was even a chance of failure.
Seeing my hesitation, the boy began to cry.
Pitifully tugging at the corner of my clothes, he looked extremely aggrieved.
“Brother, don’t leave me. I’ll be good. Please, you can do whatever you want with me.”
Looking at his beautiful little face, I swallowed hard and agreed.
As I led him to the car, I had a conversation with the system in my mind.
“Don’t worry. Let’s give it a try. It’s not like we can only redeem one. We can cast a wide net—maybe one will succeed.”
System: “That… actually makes sense. Are you a genius?”
Me: “…”

The car’s heating was on full blast, but since he was dressed so lightly, his limbs were red from the cold, and he was huddled in the corner, trembling. His large, expressive eyes would occasionally glance my way.
Although he was quite tall, there was something oddly cute about him in that moment.
I chuckled and tossed my coat over to him.
He was startled for a moment, then gave me a soft smile.
Clean and obedient.
“You…”
“Just call me Wen Xun, brother.”
We both spoke at the same time, and almost instantly, I got the answer I wanted.
After that, I didn’t say much.
The car fell into a brief silence.
Outside, the occasional honk could be heard.
I leaned wearily against the car window, calculating how much longer it would take to get home.
In my drowsiness, I heard Wen Xun suddenly say, “Brother, you’re such a good person.”
His voice was so light that it made me feel a bit dazed, as if someone had told me that a long time ago as well.
I casually responded with a few words and didn’t look at him again.
So, I missed the look in his eyes at that moment—excited and full of hidden meaning.

When I woke up, I realized we had arrived home.
I felt refreshed after my nap.
I pointed Wen Xun to the guest room and told him to go wash up.
Sitting in the living room, I couldn’t stop thinking about the injuries covering his body. I couldn’t resist grabbing the first aid kit and heading into the guest room.
But as soon as I walked in, I froze.
Wen Xun had just finished his shower and was only wearing a towel around his waist.
Before, his clothes were loose, so I hadn’t noticed, but now, his physique was surprisingly good.
