Antique Street.
The grandpas and grandmas held sunflower seeds and peanuts, forming a circle.
“Why hasn’t the master arrived yet?”
“My sunflower seeds don’t taste good anymore.”
“Guess how many readings the master will do today?”
“Six readings, I bet a bag of sunflower seeds.”
“Seven readings, I bet three bags of sunflower seeds.”
“She’s here, she’s here, the master is here!”
The grandpas and grandmas stood up simultaneously, automatically making way for Lin Xi.
Zhang Dama exclaimed, “Master, you’re dressed so beautifully today; you look like a fairy.”
“The master is a fairy from heaven.” Ma Cuixiang smiled meaningfully, “Master, you must have gone on a date with your boyfriend.”
Hearing her words, the onlookers’ eyes sparkled with gossip.
“Master, why didn’t your boyfriend send you?”
“Master, who is your boyfriend?”
“Are you stupid? The master’s boyfriend must also be a master.”
Lin Xi looked down at her cheongsam and sighed, covering her face.
Oh no! She forgot to change clothes.
Fortunately, the grandmas couldn’t tell fortunes; they couldn’t guess that she got married today.
Lin Xi cleared her throat, “I don’t have a boyfriend; don’t guess randomly.”
Ma Cuixiang blurted out, “If not a boyfriend, then a husband; Master, you’re dressed so formally; did you go to get your marriage license?”
The onlookers ate their sunflower seeds with more gusto.
“Wow! Congratulations, Master! Congratulations!”
“Happy wedding, Master; wishing you a happy marriage and a little master soon.”
“…”
The smile on Lin Xi’s face froze.
As expected of the sharp-eyed grandmas, her secret couldn’t be hidden.
Lin Xi really wanted to say: I’m leaving; Grandma, you tell fortunes.
Ma Cuixiang raised her hand, “Quiet, quiet, the master is shy; everyone, don’t joke around.”
Everyone was very obedient; seeing that Lin Xi didn’t want to mention this, they quieted down and ate their sunflower seeds.
Lin Xi sat on a small stool, “Same as before, seven readings today.”
A middle-aged man, holding a red envelope, rushed in anxiously.
“Master, I, I, I… save me!”
Lin Xi looked at him, “You have yin energy; you encountered a ghost?”
The middle-aged man, Sun Tianlong, nodded frantically, “Master is amazing; I dreamt of a ghost.”
Three days ago, he had a strange dream.
The dream was filled with white mist, and Kong Tianlong stood blankly in front of the mist.
Then, an old voice came from the mist.
“Tianlong, Tianlong, come quickly, come over here…”
Sun Tianlong was about to walk over when he suddenly woke up.
He breathed out, a cold sweat breaking out on his back.
Sun Tianlong didn’t think much of it; he thought it was just a nightmare and washed his face before going to work.
The next day, he dreamt of the same scene.
“Tianlong, Tianlong! Come over here, come quickly…”
The old voice was more anxious.
Having had the experience, Sun Tianlong didn’t want to go into the white mist, but his body uncontrollably drifted towards it.
“Ah!”
He woke up again, finding a puddle of water at the foot of the bed.
But it hadn’t rained yesterday, and the ceiling wasn’t leaking; where did the water on the bed come from?
Sun Tianlong was terrified and told his wife about it.
His wife thought it was all a coincidence and told him not to think too much.
Sun Tianlong was anxious all day, and at night, he dreamt of the voice again.
“Tianlong! Tianlong! Come over here!!”
This time, Sun Tianlong saw something in the white mist.
It was a graveyard!
Rows of graves stood before him, it was eerie.
The voice was still calling him over.
“Tianlong! Tianlong! Come…”
“No! I don’t want to go!”
Sun Tianlong trembled, not daring to open his eyes.
The voice sounded again, “Tianlong, open your eyes and look carefully!”
“No! I won’t look, I won’t look! Ahhhh!!!”
Sun Tianlong bumped into a white tombstone and woke up in pain.
After waking up, he gasped for breath, finding his wife beside him equally terrified.
Sun Tianlong asked, “Did you also dream about it?”
His wife nodded, “Tianlong, what should we do? What should we do? We can’t die, Little Bao is still so young, we can’t die…”
The two hugged each other, trembling incessantly until dawn.
Early in the morning, Sun Tianlong rushed to Antique Street to find the master to exorcise the ghost.
After recounting his experience, Sun Tianlong forced a sad smile.
“Master, I swear on my life, I, Sun Tianlong, have never done anything wrong; I’ve always been honest and hardworking, earning money to support my family; I wouldn’t even dare kill a chicken.”
“Why is that ghost haunting me?”
“Woo woo woo, Little Bao is still young; I can’t die; my wife can’t die either…”
Sun Tianlong, a man of 1.8 meters tall, was now huddled together, crying incessantly, “Master, save me!”
Lin Xi comforted him, “Calm down, you won’t die.”
The feeling of fear lessened; Sun Tianlong sniffed, “Master, should I perform a ritual to eliminate that ghost?”
“No.” Lin Xi slowly explained, “Judging from your physiognomy, there’s a problem with your family’s ancestral grave.”
“What?!” Sun Tianlong slapped his thigh, “Who is so vicious as to harm my Sun family?”
Lin Xi said, “The color of the lines on both sides of your cheeks is dark and has a white mist; this means that your ancestral grave is flooded, so the puddle of water at the foot of your bed is a hint.”
“Impossible.” Sun Tianlong scratched his head, “I go back to my hometown to visit the graves every Qingming Festival.”
“Last week, I even went once to clear the weeds from my father’s grave; that place is far from any water source; it’s impossible for there to be water.”
Lin Xi glanced at him, “Is it possible that you went to the wrong grave?”
Sun Tianlong gasped, “No way?”
His hometown was in South China; the mountain roads were difficult, and the weeds were overgrown every Qingming Festival; it was misty and foggy; going to the grave was like survival in the wild.
Therefore, he had tied a red cloth on a tree; it was impossible to mistake his father’s grave.
Lin Xi said, “Looking at your physiognomy, you were young when your father passed away; did you really not mistake the grave or take a wrong turn?”
Sun Tianlong felt uneasy.
He wasn’t sure; did he really go to the wrong grave?
On second thought, the voice in the dream sounded very familiar.
Sun Tianlong wiped his eyes, “Master, I was only eight years old when my father passed away; my mother raised us alone.”
“After my mother passed away, I took her place to visit my father’s grave every year; I didn’t expect…”
He blushed, “I didn’t expect I went to the wrong grave; I’m sorry to my father and mother.”
Lin Xi said, “Just correct the mistake; find a better place for your father.”
“Thank you, Master; I’ll go back to my hometown immediately to move my father’s grave.”
After standing up, Sun Tianlong suddenly realized that he didn’t even know where his father was buried.
He hesitated for a moment before speaking hesitantly, “Master, can you ask my father where his grave is?”
Lin Xi: …
The onlookers: …
Sun Tianlong awkwardly smiled, “The trees on the mountain look similar; it’s been too long; I really don’t recognize the way.”
“Master, I can pay more; can you…”
Lin Xi interrupted him, “Come with me; I’ll let you ask your father yourself.”
Sun Tianlong was startled, “Master, really?”
