Chapter 17: After Bo Si
The king proteas in the flower room were in full bloom, their colors were vibrant, each one like a crown, no wonder they were called the king of flowers.
Jiang Wantang was captivated by the flowers in the flower room, vying for beauty, she couldn’t help but exclaim, “Aunt, you’re amazing, these flowers are blooming better than they do in their native land!”
No one dislikes praise, Old Madam Bo smiled, “I’m old, I have nothing to do but fiddle with flowers and pass the time.”
“How could you say that? Aunt, you’re forever young in my heart! You’re my role model!”
“You have such a sweet mouth!” Old Madam Bo patted her hand, “A Si is truly blessed to be able to marry you!”
Jiang Wantang was stunned for a second, her expression was a little strange.
But in a flash, she smiled again, “It’s my blessing, to be precise.”
“I heard Bo Si say that you accidentally fell yesterday…” Old Madam Bo stared at her injured forehead, “How could you be so careless? How did you fall?”
No wonder she had been staring at her since she saw Old Madam Bo, but she hadn’t asked her. It turned out that Bo Si had already told Old Madam Bo, so she wasn’t surprised at all.
She knew he was protecting Sang Tian, afraid that if someone asked her about it, she would say something, so he had told everyone about it first.
Jiang Wantang knew her limits, “I was just looking at my phone while walking, I was distracted for a moment and didn’t see the road under my feet, and I fell and hit the flower stand.”
Old Madam Bo lifted her bangs, feeling heartbroken, “Be careful in the future, when you walk, just focus on walking and don’t look at your phone.”
Was it her fault?
Jiang Wantang’s heart tightened, “Mm, I know.” After dinner, Bo Si had someone take Jiang Wantang home.
Although Old Madam Bo was in good health, she was old after all. After dinner, she chatted with Bo Si for a few words about his wedding date with Jiang Wantang, and she felt sleepy.
“Think about it carefully, get married to Wantang soon. You’re going to get married sooner or later, why not do it sooner? I can also hold my grandson.”
Bo Si twirled the lighter in his hand, nonchalant, “How many grandsons have you held? You don’t need one more from me. You might as well urge the other few, maybe you can hold a great-grandson sooner.”
He was handsome, 360 degrees without a dead angle, every angle seemed to be carefully polished, well-defined.
But the words he said were infuriating.
Old Madam Bo coughed, her son and the man she loved most were like two peas in a pod, but their temperaments were vastly different. He didn’t inherit a bit of his father’s good temper.
“How can that be the same? I’m old, I just want to see you have a successor.”
Bo Si’s fingertips paused, the lighter that was spinning instantly stopped in mid-air. He turned his head, giving a wicked smile, “Why don’t you have Third Brother adopt Bo Qi to me? Not only will I have a successor, but Bo Qi will also be the rightful heir in the future, wouldn’t that be a win-win situation?”
Old Madam Bo had four sons and one daughter.
But these five children didn’t have the same father.
The three sons and the daughter were all born to Old Madam Bo and her first husband, only Bo Si was born to Old Madam Bo and her second husband.
In a wealthy family, even brothers would fight for money and power and turn against each other, let alone half-brothers.
Since he was a child, Bo Si had been the target of everyone’s ire.
He had faced both open and covert attacks, but he had grown stronger and stronger in each crisis, standing firm.
Third Master Bo realized that he was limited in his abilities and couldn’t compete with Bo Si, so he took a different approach and brought out his son, Bo Qi, Old Madam Bo’s most beloved grandson, to compete for shares.
Over the years, Old Madam Bo had cultivated Bo Qi with great effort, and she had given him a lot of shares. Everyone guessed that Bo Qi would be the successor after Bo Si.
Old Madam Bo’s face instantly turned black, “What nonsense are you talking about? How much older are you than Bo Qi?”
Bo Si curled his lips, “He can call me Dad and become my heir, it’s not a bad deal.”
Old Madam Bo was so angry that her hands trembled, she couldn’t speak for a long time.
After a long time, she said, “Forget it, it’s not early, I’m tired too, I’ll go upstairs to rest.”
When she got up, because she had been sitting for too long and was also angry with Bo Si, her legs went weak. Butler Zhou immediately supported Old Madam Bo, who was leaning back, his big hand rested on her waist, his other hand wrapped around her shoulder, supporting her.
“Old Madam, be careful.”
Bo Si’s gaze swept over Butler Zhou’s hand, his eyes darkened, as if a storm was about to hit, the sky instantly darkened.
But soon, he regained his composure.
This wasn’t the first time he had seen this scene, he had seen it countless times since he was a teenager.
His knuckles tightened, his deep eyes fell back on the lighter in his fingertips, “What did Sang Tian do to make you so furious?”
His voice was calm and steady.
Old Madam Bo stopped, Bo Si didn’t say anything, but she had forgotten that Sang Tian was still in the hall.
Sang Tian had been waiting in the hall for a whole day, from bright daylight to the night covering everything.
She clutched her stomach, she hadn’t eaten all day, her stomach ached badly.
She tried to go out, but the bodyguard at the door was like a door god, she hadn’t even taken a step out when the bodyguard reached out and stopped her.
She had no choice but to wait.
Her phone had long been out of power and turned off, the empty hall even echoed when she coughed lightly.
She heard the sound of a car horn, it must be Bo Si and Jiang Wantang leaving.
A long time passed, so long that she was drowsy and almost fell asleep on the chair, the door to the hall opened.
The light shone in, Sang Tian rubbed her eyes.
Bo Si followed behind Old Madam Bo, as soon as he entered the door, he saw the woman’s pale face, her beautiful peach blossom eyes were hazy, covered in dust. Looking closely, there were bloodshot eyes all over them.
Her short down jacket was taken off and draped over her shoulders, the soft fur collar brushed against her cheek, as soft as her furry cat.
Cat.
Bo Si’s footsteps paused slightly, his fingers unconsciously curled, the pressure around him became even lower.
Old Madam Bo’s eyes were impatient, she sat down on the main seat, she looked tired.
Butler Zhou reached out to rub her temples, but she stopped him, her eyes signaled him not to, this would be dealt with quickly.
Butler Zhou understood, he stepped back two steps and stood aside.
Old Madam Bo glanced at Sang Tian, “Don’t be clever in front of me, I know your little tricks very well.”
Sang Tian sat there, pulling the down jacket on her body, she didn’t move, letting Old Madam Bo speak.
“Mrs. Yu came yesterday, I don’t know what tricks you used to make Yu Feng take the initiative to propose breaking off the engagement, but this is a matter between two families, it’s not something you can break off just because you want to!”
“Don’t waste your time on useless things, if there’s another time, you should know the consequences!”
Sang Tian suddenly realized, she had thought that Old Madam Bo had called her here because of Jiang Wantang’s injury, but it turned out it was about the arranged marriage.
She glanced at Bo Si, she had wronged him.
“I didn’t do anything, Yu Feng took the initiative to propose breaking off the engagement, what does it have to do with me?”
“If you hadn’t been secretly seeing a boyfriend, and he found out, why would he think about breaking off the engagement?”
Sang Tian: “…”
“The day after tomorrow is Mrs. Yu’s birthday, I’ve already told Mrs. Yu, you go and help. Behave yourself, don’t disappoint me. This marriage cannot be messed up.”
