Chapter 20: Karma
Ouyang Heng was curious and really wanted to know his boss’s guess. He looked into the rearview mirror, not afraid of death.
The man lit another cigarette, took a deep drag, and kicked the back of Ouyang Heng’s seat, almost knocking him over. “Ask me? What do you need me for?”
His chest hit the steering wheel, his ribs ached as if they were broken. Fortunately, he had fastened his seatbelt when he got in, so the impact wasn’t that strong. Otherwise, his ribs would have really broken.
Ouyang Heng rubbed his chest, “I’ll go check it out right away!”
Bo Si held the cigarette in his mouth, his usual coldness returned, “The cooperation with the Qi family is off, the Qi family’s hand doesn’t need to be kept either!”
Ouyang Heng nodded, “One hand or two hands?”
“Whichever hand Sang Tian injured.”
…
That night, Sang Tian still didn’t sleep well. She didn’t fall asleep until morning, and she was woken up in a daze by the bar calling her in the afternoon.
“Boss, when are you coming over?”
Sang Tian was a little confused, “To where?”
“The bar!”
“The bar?”
“Yeah!”
“What for?” It was already closed.
“The bar has been closed for two nights, it’s time to get things going again. We need you, Boss, to take charge!”
“Huh? Ah?” Sang Tian climbed out of bed, the duvet fell off her. She pulled it up with her hand, covering most of her body, her eyes were blank.
“Boss, you don’t know that our bar has reopened, do you?”
Sang Tian suddenly jumped out of bed, thinking she was dreaming.
When she arrived at the bar and saw the huge sign outside the bar lit up and the beautiful flashing lights, she realized it was real.
The security guard at the door stood straight, he immediately smiled when he saw Sang Tian, “Boss!”
Security guards are the face of the place. The security guards at her bar were all carefully selected, they were incredibly handsome.
Sang Tian smiled and nodded, “Thank you for your hard work.”
Two greeters in cheongsams greeted her at the door, their smiles were sweet, their voices gentle, “Boss.”
Sang Tian felt inexplicably happy.
The manager heard the noise and came out to greet her, “Boss, you’re finally back! To make up for the negative impact of the bar being closed for two days, I’ve made a few plans…”
The manager started talking non-stop, from rewarding new and old customers to offering discounts on drinks to inviting famous singers to perform live, he said a lot.
Sang Tian chose one of the plans and gave it to him to do.
After she finished making all the decisions that the bar needed her to make, she called Xiao Xiao, “Thank you for the bar, I’ll treat you and Yan Ge to dinner sometime.”
Xiao Xiao was still working overtime at the company. She was stunned when she heard this. She had indeed mentioned it to her brother yesterday, his efficiency was too high.
But it wasn’t a big deal, it shouldn’t be difficult to pull some strings with connections.
So she happily said, “Then you have to treat me to a big meal!”
“Order whatever you want!”
“Then can I order the male models at your bar too?”
Sang Tian: “…”
The big meal she was talking about seemed a little different from the big meal she had in mind.
“Have you heard?”
Xiao Xiao’s tone was suddenly excited, and Sang Tian was also a little excited and curious, “What?”
“Qi Nuan was robbed this morning when she went out. Someone rode a motorcycle and snatched her bag. Her bag was newly bought, a limited edition, only three in the world. She couldn’t bear to let go of it, so the man pulled out a steel bar and directly broke her hand, the bag was also snatched.”
“Tsk tsk, she was so arrogant that day, let’s see if she dares to be arrogant again. Even a petty thief could break her hand, it’s been a day, and the police haven’t caught the culprit yet!”
“It was her right hand, it’s said to be a comminuted fracture, it’s permanently disabled!”
“Karma is a bitch!”
Sang Tian clicked her tongue, she couldn’t help but sigh, “I never expected this. In the future, don’t buy such expensive bags, carrying a villa on your back is too dangerous.”
Thinking of Xiao Xiao’s love for buying bags, she frowned, “Be careful in the future, if you encounter a robber, just give it to them. Money is nothing, life is the most important thing.”
“Don’t worry, it’s just a bag, I’ll give it to them. After Qi Nuan’s example, I wouldn’t dare to fight back against these people who don’t care about their lives.”
“That’s good!” Sang Tian breathed a sigh of relief, she was still a little scared. She had heard about people having their earrings snatched in the street before, their ears were torn and bleeding. She didn’t expect these people to be even more rampant now, they were directly using steel bars to beat people up. The security situation was really worrying.
A few days of peaceful life passed, and time flew by until Mrs. Yu’s birthday banquet.
Old Madam Bo called several times to remind her, telling her to behave herself and make sure Mrs. Yu was satisfied with her.
The Yu family was different from the wealthy families in Jin City, their location was even more special, it was behind various government affairs centers, very hidden.
You had to go through several security systems to get in, there were also soldiers guarding the gate, it was incredibly strict.
Sang Tian didn’t dare to go in when she reached the gate. The guards on both sides were holding guns, their faces were expressionless, like statues, but their eyes and lips moved.
“Who are you?!”
Their gaze was scrutinizing, their tone was interrogative.
Sang Tian swallowed, she clutched her bag, trying to look calm, “I’m Sang Tian, I’m here to help Mrs. Yu with her birthday banquet.”
“ID!”
“Oh!” Sang Tian hurriedly took out her ID from her bag and handed it to them respectfully.
The guards carefully checked it before letting her in, “Go in.”
Sang Tian took back her ID and quickly walked in. She only felt her legs go weak when she crossed the gate.
This was the first time she had come to this kind of family, she was a little timid. It was like an ordinary person in ancient times walking to the front of a general’s door, only daring to look up and not daring to go forward, afraid of offending the noble people inside with a wrong action or gesture.
Actually, Old Madam Bo’s eldest son, Bo Zhengrong, and his family also lived here, but she had never been here, because she wasn’t a real member of the Bo family.
A servant came out to greet her and led her over.
Ordinary people wouldn’t know that in the center of a modern city that was rapidly developing and full of skyscrapers, there was such a place, without high-rises, it was all courtyards like those in ancient times, with white walls and red tiles, majestic and imposing, magnificent!
Sang Tian restrained her usual flamboyance, she put on very light makeup, and her clothes were also conservative.
Even if it wasn’t because of Old Madam Bo’s threats, she would still try to make a good impression, after all, a family like Mrs. Yu’s was someone she couldn’t afford to offend.
You can’t offend certain people if you want to get along in the world.
If she could build a good relationship, it would be beneficial in every way.
Mrs. Yu was wearing a white embroidered suit, her hair was tied up, she was dignified and elegant, as noble and grand as a queen.
Sang Tian was a little restrained, she clenched her hands, and carefully greeted her, “Mrs. Yu.”
Contrary to her expectations of being unattainable, Mrs. Yu was approachable. She walked down the steps, reached out and took her hand, “Tian Tian, don’t be so formal, just call me Aunt.”
Her hand was soft, white, and a little chubby, it was clearly a pair of wealthy hands.
Sang Tian’s tense mood eased a little, she softly called out, “Aunt.”
