Chapter 6: Aunt?
The red Audi stopped at the foot of South Lake Mountain. Sang Tian pushed the door open and got out of the car. The cold air suddenly rushed into her body, and she couldn’t help but shiver.
She had tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep. She finally fell asleep as dawn approached, but then the alarm clock went off. She groggily reached out to turn it off, thinking she’d sleep for another five minutes, but she overslept.
She was in a hurry to leave, only wearing a black turtleneck sweater underneath and a beige cashmere coat on top. Standing outside, her fingertips were numb from the cold.
Her stiff hands went into the cashmere coat, and it took a while for them to regain feeling. She wrapped the coat tighter around herself, glanced around, but didn’t see Yu Feng.
It was still early, he might still be on his way.
She leaned against the car, and as she looked up, she saw the golden winter plums covering the entire mountain.
It had snowed a few days ago, and it hadn’t melted yet. It lay thick on the ground beneath the trees.
The gold and the snow blended together, a breathtaking sight.
When she was a child, Bo Si would bring her here every year.
He would walk in front, and she would follow behind, climbing from the foot of the mountain all the way to the top. When she couldn’t walk anymore, she would always cling to his arm and whine, “Uncle, I can’t walk anymore…”
“Then let’s rest for a while and then walk?” Bo Si clearly didn’t understand the subtext in her words.
Or maybe he was deliberately pretending not to understand.
“I can’t walk even after resting…” She looked at him pitifully, the implication in her eyes was obvious.
But he pretended not to understand, standing there motionless, staring at her.
His facial features were already sharp and cold, and coupled with the innate sense of distance he exuded, when he was expressionless, it made people feel intimidated and afraid to approach.
But she wasn’t afraid. She shook his hand, pleading, “I really can’t walk anymore, can you carry me?”
Seeing that he didn’t answer, she shook him even harder, crumpling his neatly ironed sleeves into a mess, “Good Uncle, my dear Uncle, my favorite Uncle, carry me, please? I really can’t walk anymore!”
She blinked her eyes, looking at him with a pitiful and hopeful expression.
He shook his head, sighed, and she thought he would refuse, but the next second he squatted down, “Get on!”
His tone was impatient, but she could hear a hint of indulgence in it.
Her heart blossomed with joy. She jumped onto his back, wrapped her arms around his neck, and didn’t forget to praise him, “Uncle, you’re so good to me!”
Unfortunately, they hadn’t been back here since she turned twenty.
Returning to this place, everything was different.
Sang Tian sniffed, looked away, but the events of the past two days kept replaying in her mind.
The message she sent Bo Si yesterday, he still hadn’t replied.
He probably agreed, there was nothing to reply to.
Sang Tian sighed, forget it, don’t think too much. Bo Si didn’t belong to her, why bother making things difficult for herself.
Sang Tian took out her phone to scroll through some short videos to distract herself. She looked at the time, it was already 10:15. They were supposed to meet at 10, Yu Feng was late.
She frowned, called him, but his phone was off.
“He won’t be coming today.”
A familiar male voice came from not far away. Sang Tian looked up.
Bo Si was wearing a black cashmere coat, his figure tall and straight, dignified and composed.
Over the years, he seemed to have changed very little. His expression was always indifferent, as if nothing in the world could stir up any emotion in him.
Of course, the entire Jin City’s economy was in his hands, he looked down on everyone from his lofty position, so naturally, there was nothing that could truly interest him.
She was also pathetic. Seeing him, her heart raced, her throat tightened, as if her heart was about to jump out of her chest, her legs even felt a little weak, and she unconsciously wanted to walk towards him.
He had the capital.
Just his face that could captivate everyone and the aura of a superior that he exuded were enough to make countless women flock to him.
She was no exception.
Even though he had hurt her heart, seeing him still made her heart flutter.
Sang Tian was afraid that her emotions would be too obvious and her thoughts would be seen through, so she restrained herself.
But countless thoughts popped into her head.
Why was he here?
Did he come to find her?
Did he miss her?
Sang Tian’s heart leaped with joy. She wanted to greet him, but as she took a step, she saw a woman running towards Bo Si from behind, stopping beside him, and putting her arm around his, looking up at him and smiling.
He, for the first time ever, smiled back. His smile was gentle, something she rarely saw.
She thought South Lake Mountain was his and hers, he wouldn’t bring another woman here. She never thought that one day he would bring another woman here.
Sang Tian stopped in her tracks.
The woman walked towards her with Bo Si, stopping in front of her. She smiled at her, and Sang Tian politely returned the smile, but it was very stiff.
“You’re A Si’s niece, Sang Tian?”
A Si?
What a familiar and affectionate way to address him. Only Old Madam Bo and Bo Si’s fourth sister called him that.
No one else dared to.
And she, he wouldn’t allow it.
When she was writhing in bed, she cried and begged, calling him Uncle over and over again, but he ignored her. In a moment of desperation, she called him A Si. He stopped, took a deep breath, leaned down and covered her mouth, biting her earlobe, his voice was tender, but if you listened carefully, it carried a threat, “Don’t call me that anymore.”
Then came a more brutal punishment.
Since then, she never called him A Si again.
What kind of woman would be allowed to call him A Si?
Sang Tian couldn’t help but look at the woman in front of her.
The woman’s features weren’t particularly outstanding, nor did she have any particularly striking features, but when you looked at her as a whole, she was gentle and elegant, like someone who had come from the water towns of Jiangnan, every move exuded grace.
For a moment, Sang Tian felt that she and Bo Si were a good match.
Her throat tightened, meeting the woman’s probing gaze, Sang Tian “Mm”ed in response to her question.
Her gaze moved down, landing on the woman’s arm that was linked with Bo Si’s and their close-fitting arms. She wanted to shift her attention, but she couldn’t ignore it, her eyes uncontrollably drifted towards it.
The fresh air of the open mountain suddenly became stuffy. She didn’t want to stay here for a moment longer.
Just when she was thinking about how to leave this awkward place quickly, the woman, acting familiar, said, “Let me introduce myself, I’m Jiang Wantang, your Uncle’s fiancĂ©e. You didn’t come to the engagement banquet last time, I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Sang Tian had already guessed it.
Besides Jiang Wantang, who else could he bring out so openly?
Even her, he had brought her out under the guise of bringing all the younger generation out to play. It’s just that the other younger generation were afraid of him, avoiding him like the plague, no one was willing to come with him. Even if they agreed to come out, they would eventually slip away.
Sang Tian forced a smile, “Miss Jiang, nice to meet you.”
Jiang Wantang smiled and shook her head, “According to seniority, you should call me Aunt.”
Aunt?
Jiang Wantang was only two years older than her, and she was already rushing to be her aunt?
She subconsciously looked up at Bo Si. He was expressionless, standing there motionless, not stopping her, more like he was tacitly approving.
Sang Tian’s throat tightened, as if a fishbone was stuck in her throat, she couldn’t take it out, she couldn’t swallow it.
She really couldn’t call her that, and she didn’t want to admit it.
Her palm was deeply indented with her fingernails. She took a deep breath, “Wait until Miss Jiang and Uncle get married and get their marriage certificate, then it’s not too late to call you Aunt!”
“I was just kidding. Actually, I think calling me Aunt is a bit inappropriate. In the future, just call me by my name, as long as it’s not in front of elders.” Jiang Wantang smiled naturally, as if she didn’t mind.
She was truly gentle and elegant.
“I have something to talk to Sang Tian about, you go up first.” Bo Si took out a cigarette, put it in his mouth, and suddenly said, “Have your bodyguard follow you.”
