Chapter 9: Cold-Hearted and Unfeeling
Sang Tian suppressed the discomfort in her heart, calmed herself down, and forced a smile, jokingly saying, “What, coming to get drunk and watch male models so early?”
A chuckle came from the other end, “Can’t I? I’m here early to pick, I’m afraid the good ones will be picked by others if I come late.”
She knew she was just talking, she wouldn’t even dare to take a second look. Sang Tian was amused, “Okay, I’ll have them line up for you to pick from!”
“Then hurry up, I’m waiting for you in the private room.”
She hung up the phone, there was an unread message on her phone that she hadn’t seen.
She clicked it open, it was a message from Yu Feng sent half an hour ago.
“I had to leave for a mission in a hurry, I didn’t have time to tell you. I’ll take you to see the winter plums next time. I know you’re not interested in me, don’t worry about the arranged marriage, I’ll ask my family to withdraw the marriage proposal from Old Madam Bo.”
This message, it had to be said, Yu Feng was truly a gentleman.
Not only did he give an explanation, but he also considered her feelings, taking the responsibility of withdrawing the marriage proposal upon himself, not making things difficult for her.
She had a general understanding of Yu Feng’s work, it required a high level of confidentiality, he couldn’t even bring his phone with him normally. It was already rare for him to find a chance to send her a message.
She was truly grateful, she thanked him and said she would treat him to dinner when he came back.
He didn’t reply, he must have had his phone confiscated.
Sang Tian returned to the bar, it was still early, the front of the bar was deserted, there wasn’t even a single person on the street, and the inside was pitch black, only the floor lights in the corridor were on. The bar staff hadn’t started work yet, only two or three staff members were on duty.
Sang Tian turned to the private room reserved for Xiao Xiao, reached out and pushed open the door.
The person who had been clamoring to pick male models was now lying on the sofa, scrolling through her phone, giggling non-stop. The coffee table was covered with a mess of snacks, drinks, and a half-eaten fruit platter.
Sang Tian shook her head, walked closer, the woman didn’t notice until she kicked her leg, Xiao Xiao raised her head, “Oh, you’re finally back.”
“What’s wrong? Are you in a bad mood?” Xiao Xiao noticed the dark circles under Sang Tian’s eyes, even though she tried to hide them, she couldn’t hide the gloom that emanated from her.
Sang Tian didn’t expect to be seen through so easily, she shook her head, unwilling to say more, “Nothing.”
Xiao Xiao pouted, “I heard your uncle got engaged to Jiang Wantang?”
She had been forced by her brother to learn business recently, she had just returned from negotiating a project with Xiao Yuanyan in the US, and she learned that Bo Si and Jiang Wantang were engaged. She rushed over in a hurry.
She and Sang Tian had been classmates from elementary school to high school for nine years, their relationship was so good that they had no secrets.
“What are you going to do? Are you okay?”
Sang Tian sat down opposite her, casually picked up a Coke and twisted it open, she drank it quickly, the bubbles popped up, choking her. “I’m fine, it’s no big deal.”
Xiao Xiao paused, her mouth drooping, “What are you going to do then?”
“What do you mean what am I going to do? Eat when I need to eat, drink when I need to drink. Do I have to die without him?”
“No… it’s just… are you really willing to let him go?”
“What’s there to be unwilling about? Losing one tree, gaining a whole forest, what’s wrong with that?”
Xiao Xiao was speechless for a moment, she let go of Sang Tian’s hand, “… That’s true.”
Sang Tian saw her worried look and was puzzled, “It’s me who broke up, why do you seem more upset than I am?”
Xiao Xiao paused, her eyes rolled around before she said, “I’m just upset for you.”
Sang Tian didn’t doubt her, “What’s there to be upset about… he’s laughing, do I have to cry for him?”
She said that, but the loneliness and desolation in her expression couldn’t be concealed.
Xiao Xiao was lost in thought, she didn’t notice Sang Tian’s emotions, and asked an unrelated question, “I heard… Bo Qi is coming back?”
“Huh?” Sang Tian frowned.
Bo Qi was the son of Third Master Bo, Old Madam Bo’s eldest grandson, only a few months older than Sang Tian. He had gone abroad to study three years ago and hadn’t come back.
She hadn’t heard the news that he was coming back. But if you counted the time, he should be back.
Their last encounter was the day before her 20th birthday. He said he had something to tell her, but he didn’t come on her birthday, he didn’t even leave a message, he went straight to the US.
For three years, he hadn’t even sent her a message, even the messages she sent him were like a stone sinking into the sea.
Thinking of this, Sang Tian’s mouth drooped, her expression became even colder.
It’s no wonder they were surnamed Bo, every one of them was cold-hearted and unfeeling.
“I’m asking you, why aren’t you saying anything?” Xiao Xiao pressed.
“I don’t know, I haven’t heard the Bo family say anything.”
“Didn’t your uncle say anything?”
“No.”
“Oh.” Xiao Xiao was clearly a little disappointed.
“Who cares if he comes back or not, he’s been gone for so many years, he hasn’t said a word, he’s probably living it up abroad.”
When Sang Tian first arrived at the Bo family, her relationship with Bo Qi wasn’t good. He disliked her for being short, ugly, and a country bumpkin, and he always bullied her.
Later, she didn’t know how, maybe they became friends after fighting. The two children fought, Sang Tian punched Bo Qi’s nose and made it bleed. Bo Qi, an eight or nine-year-old boy, didn’t know how to be gentle with women, he pushed Sang Tian into a mud pit.
The two were taken to the hall by Old Madam Bo’s servants. One was covered in blood, the other was covered in mud, only their two black eyes were rolling around.
Both of them were in a sorry state, neither of them had the upper hand. Bo Qi was the eldest grandson, Old Madam Bo’s heart was biased towards Siberia. Seeing Bo Qi covered in blood, she didn’t ask a single question and threw Sang Tian into a dark room and locked her up.
If Second Master Bo hadn’t come back from a business trip and brought her out, she would have starved to death in the dark room.
Her body’s functions were declining, and she spent the next month in the hospital. Bo Qi felt guilty and often came to see her secretly.
Perhaps he knew he had done wrong, and he never bothered her again.
Their relationship had always been ordinary, they would just greet each other when they met. Although they were the same age, they rarely played together.
It was only after Xiao Xiao became her deskmate in high school that the two strangers under the same roof became friends.
Sang Tian and Xiao Xiao often went everywhere together, Xiao Xiao’s twin brother, Xiao Yuanyan, was good friends with Bo Qi, and gradually, the four of them became a group, becoming good friends who could talk about anything.
She didn’t know why he suddenly went to the US, he didn’t even say goodbye.
At first, she asked Bo Si about his situation, but later she found that every time she asked Bo Si about Bo Qi, he would frown, so she stopped asking.
Anyway, Third Master Bo and Old Madam Bo treasured him like the apple of their eye, how could anything happen to him?
Now he was coming back, and he hadn’t even given her a message.
There was a knock on the door, and the bar manager pushed it open, his face full of worry.
Sang Tian knew something was wrong, Xiao Xiao was one of her own, so she told him to speak directly.
The manager glanced at Xiao Xiao, hesitated for a moment before saying, “Boss, the guest in the Feng private room insists on having Lou Yang accompany her, but Lou Yang is booked by Mrs. Chen tonight, it’s hard to offend either of them…”
The two were chatting in the private room, they had the kitchen send food in the middle, and they chatted until dusk, the bar had already started operating.
The Feng private room, just the room fee alone was a million yuan, those who could afford to spend here were either rich or noble, it was not easy to offend them.
Sang Tian pondered for a moment, “Who is the guest in the Feng private room?”
The manager was stunned for a moment, he thought for a moment, “I’ve never seen her…”
Never seen her?
Never seen her before, and she wants their bar’s top star?
Lou Yang had just starred in a web drama and had become a little famous. But he came from a poor background, he didn’t have any backing or capital, and his resources were often snatched away. He knew that there were many people from the wealthy circles who came to his bar, and no one had mentioned it, so he was thinking of taking a shortcut.
Lou Yang’s appearance fee was not low, just accompanying them to drink and chat was a considerable expense, not to mention anything else.
Sang Tian narrowed her eyes, her voice flat, “Lou Yang is in need of resources, whoever gives him better resources, he’ll go with them.”
Half an hour later, the manager rushed back, panting, “Boss, it’s not good! Someone reported that our bar provides paid companionship and special services, the police came and caught us red-handed!”
Sang Tian stood up abruptly!
