Bound to the Ghost Officer
Bound to the Ghost Officer Chapter 10: The Ghost Seeks Revenge (Part 6)

Han Yu broke into a cold sweat, “Master Li, please think of a way to help!”

Li Xin nodded, “I’ll try.”

Saying this, Li Xin raised one hand into the air, chanting a spell and drawing a symbol in the air, which he then cast onto Old Master Han.

Others couldn’t see the symbol, but Chi Yu could. He immediately realized this was a ghost-exorcising spell.

He had never seen it before, but he instinctively understood it and felt as though he could perform it too.

Chi Yu froze for a moment. Was it the residual memories of the earthly soul? If that was the case, then the memories of being close to Li Xin might also be true.

What is my relationship with him, after all?

It’s definitely not just a simple teacher-student bond.

The symbol entered Old Master Han’s body, and he immediately screamed in agony, his face contorting horribly. His entire body turned red, as though it were being burned by fire.

Seeing that the ordinary ghost-exorcising spell was ineffective against the female ghost, Li Xin drew another symbol in the air, intending to cast it onto Old Master Han, but suddenly stopped.

Old Master Han let out a sinister laugh, his eyes glaring coldly at Li Xin. “What’s wrong? Are you afraid?”

Hahaha—

Old Master Han laughed maniacally, his voice chilling and terrifying, sending shivers down everyone’s spine.

Everyone present was shaken by the laugh, breaking into cold sweats.

“W-What is this…?” Liu Yan grabbed Liu Cheng’s arm, speechless, her voice trembling.

Although Liu Cheng wasn’t seeing this for the first time, his legs still turned to jelly. Trembling, he tried to comfort Liu Yan, “Sister, this is an evil spirit. I saw it yesterday. Don’t be afraid… Li Master is here.”

Han Yu was even more frightened and grabbed Chi Yu’s cloak in a panic. “Master, Master, what’s happening? Master… Master…”

Chi Yu, suddenly grabbed by a stranger, felt uncomfortable but didn’t get angry. “Don’t be afraid. Let go first.”

Han Yu was so frightened that he couldn’t understand anything, and he didn’t let go.

Chang Wu stepped forward, grabbing Han Yu’s hand and squeezing it hard. “Let go, didn’t you hear me?”

Ah—

Han Yu screamed in pain and instinctively let go, crying out, “I heard, I heard…”

Chi Yu pulled his cloak back and said to Chang Wu, “Let him go, I’m fine.”

Upon hearing Chi Yu’s words, Chang Wu released Han Yu.

Han Yu came to his senses and repeatedly apologized. “I… I lost control. I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

Li Xin turned around upon hearing the voice and saw Chi Yu pulling the cloak back from Han Yu’s hand. His expression immediately darkened.

“Mr. Han, if you offend my senior brother again, I won’t get involved anymore.”

Han Yu broke into a cold sweat and repeatedly admitted his mistake. “I lost control, Master Li, please don’t be angry. I won’t do it again. I won’t.”

Li Xin shot him a cold glance before turning back to the situation.

The female ghost, seeing that Li Xin had stopped using the symbol, became even more reckless. “Taoist, better not intervene. Once I kill him, my revenge will be satisfied. Then, this broken soul, I can deliver it to you with both hands.”

Chi Yu took a step forward, fulfilling his duty as a ghost officer, and asked the female ghost, “What grievance do you have with these two old men? Why must you take their lives?”

Old Master Han’s body was controlled by the female ghost, his eyes shifting from dark to sorrowful, his face distorted with pain.

“What grievance? If it weren’t for these two bastards, how would I have become a wandering evil ghost?” The female ghost’s voice was bitter, crying as she spoke. “They killed me and my child, then threw my body in the wilderness. I died so wronged, so wronged…”

Chi Yu and Li Xin exchanged a glance before asking the female ghost again, “Why don’t you go to the underworld and seek justice from King Yan? Why not make your grievance known?”

“Could I go?” The female ghost bitterly laughed. “They were afraid I would go to the underworld and file a complaint, so they nailed a talisman to my corpse, preventing me from entering the underworld. I could only be trapped in my own body and slowly fade away with time. How cruel of them…”

Chi Yu sighed, then asked the female ghost, “Do you know who I am?”

“I know.” The female ghost immediately recognized Chi Yu as a ghost officer from the underworld when she saw him.

Chi Yu nodded. “Since you know, then tell me the whole story. I will surely bring your grievance to King Yan.”

The female ghost paused, her eyes widening. “You… you’re not going to capture me?”

“You’ve caused chaos in the mortal world, your crimes are unforgivable. I will capture you for sure, but if you truly have a grievance, I will seek justice for you,” Chi Yu said seriously.

The female ghost fell silent for a moment before letting out a soft laugh. “Alright, then I will tell you everything.”

The surroundings were silent, everyone waiting for Old Master Han to speak.

The female ghost’s voice was still eerie and horrifying, but her emotions had calmed down significantly. “This happened more than thirty years ago. My parents were doing business abroad and made some money. They planned to return to the country, but as soon as they returned, they were in a car accident and died. My grandmother, who had raised me, was so heartbroken over it that she passed away within a year. Only I was left with the inheritance.”

“That year, I had just graduated from university. I didn’t know much, so I took a job as an assistant at a small real estate company.

“My boss was this bastard Liu Chusheng. He was married, but still tried to seduce me. I was young and had never been in a relationship. When I met someone like him, an experienced womanizer, I was easily taken in. Later, he found out I had a large inheritance, so he repeatedly coaxed me into giving it to him to buy land. He even promised to divorce his wife and marry me.”

“You’re lying!” Liu Yan gathered her courage and shakily pointed at Old Master Han, “You… you’re not fooling anyone! You killed people and now you’re framing others!”

Old Master Han tilted his head to look at Liu Yan, smiling coldly. “You must be Xiao Yan, right? I’m Aunt Chen, your father’s old friend. Don’t you remember me?”

Liu Yan shuddered all over, her eyes wide, unable to say a word.

“You’ve forgotten, I even picked you up from kindergarten,” the female ghost said, then sneered a few times. “You even praised me for being prettier than your mother. Do you remember?”

“You… you…” Liu Yan was greatly frightened, unable to catch her breath and fainted.

“Sister, sister!” Liu Cheng hurriedly supported Liu Yan and called for the doctor and nurse to carry her away.

Chi Yu ignored the commotion around him and continued asking the female ghost, “What happened next? What was your connection with the Han family?”

The female ghost continued, “Afterward, I believed Liu Chusheng’s lies and gave him all my money. He used it to buy land in the west of the city and developed a high-end property project, becoming wealthy. I thought once the property was sold, he would marry me. But his wife found out. He then had me pretend to be in a relationship with Han Shou, the vice president of the company at the time, to deceive his wife. Later, he wanted me to actually be with Han Shou and help him take half of the shares Han Shou held.”

“At first, I didn’t want to, but he kept pushing me until I agreed. But Han Shou wasn’t as easy to fool as he thought. We were together for two months with no progress, and that’s when I found out I was pregnant. I went to Liu Chusheng, hoping he would help me, thinking that for the sake of the child, he wouldn’t want me near Han Shou anymore. But he thought the child was Han Shou’s and refused to have anything to do with me.”

The female ghost cried out in pain, her voice filled with sorrow.

Although Chi Yu didn’t fully understand human emotions, he still felt a sense of pity for the female ghost.

“Then what happened? Did Han Shou refuse to accept you?” Li Xin asked.

The female ghost stopped crying and continued, “Of course, he had always treated me as a distraction. Even if he had confirmed the child was his, he wouldn’t have accepted me.”

“Then who is the father of the child?” Li Xin was confused.

“Liu Chusheng,” the female ghost sneered. “After Han Shou found out I was pregnant, he told me to go back to Liu Chusheng. But Liu Chusheng had already abandoned me. That’s when I realized I had been tricked by him. I tried to ask him for money, but I had no proof that I had given him anything. He had planned it all from the start and naturally wouldn’t admit it.”

“Then, did they kill you?” Chi Yu asked.

The female ghost responded, “I went to his wife, but she had already known about us. It was when she went to inquire about me that she learned I had an inheritance. She told Liu Chusheng, and the couple decided to steal my money and push me onto someone else.”

“I was completely disheartened and thought I would destroy everything, so I went to the auction, planning to cause a scene and expose their true faces. But before I could even reach the door, Han Shou discovered me. He knocked me out, threw me in a car, and took me to a hotel room. After the auction ended, he and Liu Chusheng came to find me. They were afraid I’d make a scene, so they planned to give me some money and send me to another city. I refused, full of hatred for Liu Chusheng, and I revealed that he had made me deceive Han Shou. That’s when they started fighting.”

“I watched them struggle, feeling a sense of satisfaction in my heart. Han Shou threw an ashtray at Liu Chusheng, who blocked it with a chair, but it hit me in the stomach. I fell to the ground, feeling immense pain, and realized I had started bleeding. The child was the only family I had left in this world, and now it was gone. I grabbed the ashtray from the ground and went crazy, smashing it at them, but they both joined forces and beat me to death.”

“Then, they buried your body in the wilderness and used the talisman to keep you bound?” Chi Yu continued.

“Yeah, the talisman was something Han Shou bought when we were abroad. Who would have thought it would end up being used on me?” The female ghost laughed coldly.

“Then how did you break free from the talisman’s restraint?” Li Xin asked, puzzled.

According to logic, ghosts couldn’t break the talisman that restrained them unless they were very powerful.

But this female ghost didn’t seem to be that type.

“A few years ago, there was a heavy rain, and it didn’t stop for half a month, causing a landslide. That’s when I was washed out. The first person who found me saw the talisman and thought it was beautiful, so they took it from me. That’s when my soul was freed. But because I had been stuck in the human world for too long, the underworld couldn’t find any record of me, so I couldn’t enter the underworld and was forced to wander in the mortal realm.”

Li Xin nodded thoughtfully, then asked the female ghost, “Why did you wait so many years before seeking revenge?”

“I didn’t have the chance before,” the female ghost replied. “The two of them were tightly bound together because of this. Han Shou also used the things Liu Chusheng had planned against him to threaten him, and he got some shares from him. The two of them each owned half of the company. Afterward, fearing retaliation, they started doing good deeds to accumulate merit, and their business flourished. Because of their guilty consciences, they set up protective measures in both their homes and company, making it impossible for me to take action.”

Li Xin coughed lightly, “That’s true. I made the protective arrangements for both of their families, so ordinary evil spirits wouldn’t be able to break through.”

The female ghost shot him a glance, “Later, Liu Chusheng encountered a reverse bow curse, and that’s when I met this soul with spiritual power. I finally had the opportunity to take revenge. I want them both to die a horrible death, to avenge myself and my child.”

Chi Yu sighed, “Now that I know your grievances, I will report it to the King of Hell and seek justice for you. Now, come with me.”

The female ghost refused to come out, sneering, “Then please make a note for me, Master.”

Before anyone could react, the female ghost controlled Han Laoye’s body and suddenly stood up. Somehow, she broke the ropes binding her and grabbed her own throat, choking herself.

“Stop!” Chi Yu immediately realized something was wrong and was about to use magic to intervene, but was stopped by Li Xin.

“Brother, let her be.”

Han Laoye’s face twisted, his fingers dug in deep, and with a harsh pull, deep blood marks appeared on his neck, severing his air supply.

“Dad!” Han Yu screamed, fainting at the sight.

Everyone at the scene was horrified. Some screamed, others collapsed in fear, and the scene became chaotic again.
