Chapter 36: The Supply and Marketing Cooperative Manager
A middle-aged man selling rice cakes nearby couldn’t help but come over.
Xu Sangluo greeted him with a smile.
The man looked at the things on the stall a little embarrassedly, and finally chose the cheapest head flower.
At this time, another customer came to the stall.
Both of them were a little surprised to see this customer.
It was a man in a dark blue Zhongshan suit, about thirty years old, with his hair neatly combed.
He was reaching out to pick up a diamond pearl hair clip and examine it.
Xu Sangluo greeted him with a smile, “Comrade, this is a new product we just released today, all made with Hao Shi and pearls. Although the price is a bit high, they are all handmade, and the cost is also high, absolutely worth the price.”
The man picked up another hair clip inlaid with green glass beads.
The materials had been polished and soaked in water, making them look very moist, and if you didn’t look closely, you would think they were jade.
The workmanship was indeed exquisite, and the items were beautiful.
The man finally looked up and smiled at Xu Sangluo, “Did you make all these yourselves? Or did you buy them?”
Xu Sangluo paused, and this time she didn’t answer, but instead smiled and asked back, “Which one would Comrade hope it is?”
This person gave her a sense of familiarity.
Not in the sense of knowing him, but in terms of aura, it felt like she was facing a colleague.
She was always confident in her feelings, especially since this person didn’t look like he was simply here to buy things.
The man didn’t show any displeasure at her words, but instead smiled.
“Two young comrades, hello, I am the manager of the Chunsheng Supply and Marketing Cooperative across the street, my surname is Fang.”
Xu Sangluo raised her eyebrows in surprise, and then she roughly guessed the man’s intentions.
Her smile immediately became more sincere.
“So it’s Manager Fang, I’m sorry, I was rude.”
Manager Fang smiled and waved his hand, “It’s me who is interrupting you. I have a business deal to discuss with you, would it be convenient?”
Xu Sangluo’s smile remained unchanged, she looked calm and composed, and said generously, “Manager Fang, what would you like to discuss? Could you tell me first?”
Seeing that the other party didn’t show excessive surprise or excitement because of her identity and what she said, Manager Fang looked at her with a higher regard.
“I think your products are good. If possible, I would like to purchase some to sell in the supply and marketing cooperative. Do you have any interest in this?”
Xu Sangluo still didn’t show any particular change, her smile remained unchanged,
Going out to do business is all about making money, so naturally there’s no reason to push money away. If Manager Fang is truly interested, why don’t we go to your place and chat?
Manager Fang narrowed his eyes and looked at Xu Sangluo again.
Then he laughed heartily, “Of course, the supply and marketing cooperative is not far away. So…”
Xu Sangluo turned around and gave Qin Zhifeng, who was still a little confused, a brief instruction, then she was about to leave with Manager Fang.
Qin Zhifeng belatedly realized what was happening, and quickly pulled her back, glancing at Manager Fang discreetly, afraid that he was a scammer.
How could a supply and marketing cooperative manager be out on the street talking about buying and selling?
Moreover, he remembered that the people in the supply and marketing cooperative didn’t seem to have very good tempers, and this man didn’t look like it at all.
Xu Sangluo, however, smiled and patted his shoulder, “It’s okay, I’ll be back soon.”
Manager Fang laughed, “Don’t worry, young comrade, we are all law-abiding citizens.”
Qin Zhifeng pulled the corners of his mouth into a smile.
But he didn’t stop her anymore.
He just kept looking towards the supply and marketing cooperative, watching them walk in.
The Chunsheng Supply and Marketing Cooperative wasn’t very big, definitely not as big as the one in the city, but it was considered pretty good in the county.
Supply and Marketing Cooperative
Manager Fang took her on a tour, briefly introducing it, and then they went to his office together.
“Xu Comrade is a straightforward person, so I won’t beat around the bush. I wonder if these things are made by yourselves or if you get them from someone else. I’m not trying to pry into your source, I just want to confirm if you can supply them steadily.”
Xu Sangluo understood his meaning and said, “To be honest, these are all made by me and my family. But we have also hired other people to help, so stable supply is not a problem. However, it depends on how much goods Manager Fang wants.”
Manager Fang smiled, “That depends on the price of the goods. If it’s suitable, the quantity won’t be low, after all, we also have cooperation with the city.”
Xu Sangluo’s eyes flashed.
She smiled, “Then I wonder what Manager Fang’s psychological price is?”
Manager Fang was very satisfied with her understanding and intelligence, and smiled, “20%.”
Xu Sangluo raised her eyebrows and chuckled, “Manager Fang, you’re really joking.”
Manager Fang immediately frowned, “I’m not joking.”
Xu Sangluo’s smile didn’t diminish, “That’s why I find it funny.”
Manager Fang was a little unhappy, “I think 20% is the most suitable price. Of course, in business, both sides need to
“You can also tell me your bottom line.”
Xu Sangluo smiled, “In that case, I won’t beat around the bush. My bottom line is 10%.”
Giving a 20% discount on each item, although there would be some profit, it’s always better to earn more in business.
Manager Fang, however, kept a straight face and shook his head without hesitation, “No, that’s too low.”
Xu Sangluo said, “Labor costs, material costs, transportation costs, and time costs, none of them are low. We’re already doing a business with low profit margins and high sales volume. We’re basically just earning a little profit above the cost. You’re cutting it down by 20%…”
She smiled and shook her head gently, seeming both amused and helpless, with a hint of regret that the deal might fall through.
Manager Fang frowned, “According to your current stall setup, you can indeed sell at the original price, but how much can you sell in a day? You just said low profit margins and high sales volume. Although it’s 20% less, if you sell more, you can still earn more, right? Our supply and marketing cooperative has many channels, we definitely won’t let you lose out.”
Xu Sangluo remained unmoved, “We’re just a small workshop right now. To be honest, even if you want too much, we can’t keep up. We’re just doing a small business right now. Why don’t you find a factory to cooperate with?”
She suggested with a smile.
She wasn’t afraid that he would really go find a factory to cooperate with.
It might be possible in the future, but definitely not at this stage.
Although the items were selling well, anyone with eyes could see the market potential.
But no factory would come to make this new thing, it’s not something related to people’s livelihood or technology.
Moreover, if a factory were to make it, they would definitely have to go for mass production.
At this time, no one knew how the market for these things would be or how long it would last.
Few people would take the risk.
Not to mention that most factories now are state-owned, not one person’s word is final.
If they really had this intention, it would take a long time to discuss the terms and then go through the layers of approval, who knows when it would be done.
So she was certain that Manager Fang wouldn’t go find a factory to cooperate with, because he didn’t have any confidence either.
Sure enough, Manager Fang fell silent for two seconds before saying helplessly, “10% is really too low. If we can’t sell a lot, we won’t make any profit.”
Xu Sangluo didn’t continue to argue about the price, and smiled, “Actually, Manager Fang wants to cooperate because you see the market demand for these things, and you also want to introduce new things to the cooperative, increase customer traffic, and you don’t have to take the risk of stocking up.”
Manager Fang looked at her in surprise, “What do you mean?”
