With a bang, the door that had just been pushed open was closed again, and the woman who had eagerly jumped in like a rabbit disappeared in an instant.
Zheng Yuanxi frowned, staring at the tightly closed door for a while before casually pushing away the beauty clinging to him.
“You’re fired!” he said nonchalantly.
“What?!” the beauty exclaimed in shock.
Zheng Yuanxi sneered. “Do you think sticking to me and acting cute will make me overlook your mistake of delaying the client’s order? No way! I hate people who can’t separate public and private matters. You’ve been working at the company for over half a year, right? Don’t you understand that?”
“But, Executive…” the beauty tried to plead for herself.
“Submit your resignation within ten minutes and leave today.”
“Executive…”
“Don’t you want your severance pay?”
The beauty was speechless, weighing her options, and finally glared at this heartless man before leaving angrily.
Another bang as the door slammed shut.
It seemed that his office door was quite restless today, Zheng Yuanxi thought sarcastically, his eyebrows furrowing even more.
That silly girl suddenly came to Taipei to find him, and he didn’t know if she had gotten into trouble again. He really didn’t want to deal with her, deliberately ignoring her, but he didn’t expect her to witness that scene just now.
She must have been scared, right?
Good, she should be scared. Someone needs to toughen her up!
Whatever trouble she’s gotten into, he absolutely won’t help her clean up the mess this time, not a chance!
Zheng Yuanxi sat back at his desk, continuing to sign documents and read reports, immersing himself in work…
Five minutes later, he slammed down his pen and picked up his phone to dial.
“Jian Shuning! Where are you now?!”
She was at her brother’s house.
It was a large, luxurious apartment, decorated in a simple and cool industrial style. The furniture was all high-end designer brands from Northern Europe, clearly the home of a successful man.
Jian Shuning, sitting in this comfortable space, felt a bit guilty.
When Zheng Yuanxi heard her say she would go to his house to wait for him, he was silent for a full ten seconds before roaring—
“Who gave you the key to my house?!”
Haha, it was Zheng’s mother who gave it to her.
Zheng’s mother, upon learning that she had to temporarily leave Tainan to avoid trouble, enthusiastically invited her to stay at her son’s house and handed her the key without any reservation, treating her like family.
Although she also didn’t consider herself an outsider, it was clear that Zheng Yuanxi was very unhappy with her being so familiar.
“Brother, don’t be angry. I won’t mess up your house. I’ll wait for you to come home from work.” To appease the furious man, she immediately said this.
“Who’s your brother? Don’t call me brother!” the man was even angrier.
Haha.
She hung up the phone with an awkward laugh.
Oh no, oh no! Her brother will kill her when he gets back!
At that moment, she had only one thought, dragging her luggage around the streets like a headless fly, wondering if she should just jump on the next train and head straight back to Tainan.
But as soon as she thought about the trouble she had caused, her foot that had just lifted froze in mid-air… It was still better to stay in Tianlong Country. No matter how angry her brother was, he wouldn’t really harm her, but that person was a different story…
Jian Shuning silently turned around and headed towards the man’s apartment with her luggage. Entering this clean and beautiful large house, she then started making curry rice.
Zheng Yuanshi loved eating curry rice, especially the kind with the flavor of Zheng’s mother. Therefore, before setting off for Taipei, she specially sought Zheng’s mother’s guidance to learn how to make it, only daring to pack her bags after she was sure she had mastered it.
Before her brother decided to kill her, she would offer him a plate of curry rice, which might just save her life!
So, she went to the equally clean kitchen and started washing rice, cooking it, cutting vegetables, preparing ingredients, and making a pot of fragrant and delicious curry.
An hour later, the house was filled with a rich aroma, making even her mouth water.
Looking at the clock, it was already past seven. Her brother should be home soon, right?
She spread a tablecloth on the dining table, set out shiny plates, and placed a vase of fresh, juicy roses. Everything was ready, just waiting for the “east wind.”
But this “east wind,” why was it taking so long to arrive?
Jian Shuning grew impatient, pacing back and forth at the entrance of the living room, occasionally peeking outside through the peephole. Finally, she saw the tall and handsome figure of the man.
Her brother was back!
She took a deep breath, swiftly opened the door, and bowed gracefully, putting on her most adorable and respectful maiden demeanor. “Master. (Welcome home, Master!)”
As the sweet and fluent Japanese words fell, she smiled brightly, lifting her round, chubby face, and then… froze.
Standing next to Zheng Yuanshi was another woman. The two were talking about something, and they were startled by her sudden appearance, turning their heads in surprise.
The woman was very beautiful, even more beautiful than the woman she had seen in the office today. She had an elegant demeanor, exquisite features, and bright, sparkling eyes.
Seeing her staring blankly, the woman smiled gently at her, and even her smile was so refined and elegant.
“Hello,” the woman greeted her first, her voice carrying a hint of sexy huskiness. “I am Du Qingshuo.”
Even her name was so beautiful! This kind of name truly deserved to be called a “fragrant name.”
“Hello,” Jian Shuning stammered, her tongue feeling clumsy. “I am… Jian… Jian Shuning.”
“Are you Josh’s friend?”
She called her brother by his English name “Josh,” so tenderly and affectionately. Were they in a relationship? Would she…
“Miss Du, please don’t misunderstand! I am… his sister!”
“Sister?” Du Qingshuo raised her eyebrows.
“Yes, yes! He is my brother.” Her chubby little finger pointed at Zheng Yuanshi.
“But he is surnamed Zheng, and you are surnamed Jian?” Du Qingshuo expressed her confusion.
Jian Shuning almost choked. “No, not by blood! We are… adopted siblings! Dry sister!” She explained in a panic, her round cheeks flushing red with anxiety.
Du Qingshuo couldn’t help but laugh, her eyes glancing at Zheng Yuanshi. “Your sister is really cute.”
Zheng Yuanshi rolled his eyes and didn’t explain, just smiled faintly. “It’s fine, you can go back first!”
“Okay.” Du Qingshuo nodded decisively.
