Brother’s Silly Girl
Brother’s Silly Girl Chapter 4.3

The next day, Jian Shuning woke up with a throbbing headache, feeling as if a tiny person was drilling into her temples with an electric drill. The pulsating pain made her want to scream.

“I shouldn’t have drunk so much!” she scolded herself, knowing full well that her alcohol tolerance was low and that a single bottle of beer could get her drunk. Yet, she had followed Du Qingshuo in drinking cup after cup of sake, losing her senses in the process.

She tossed and turned in bed for a while before managing to open her eyes and sit up. Looking around the unfamiliar environment, she felt confused.

Where am I?

She knocked her head lightly, trying to piece together the fragmented memories of the previous night. After some effort, she remembered insisting on staying over at Du Qingshuo’s place and passing out after a hazy shower.

This must be the guest room, she thought.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

“Shuning? Are you awake? I have to fly to Japan for a business trip this afternoon and need to get ready to leave.”

It was Du Qingshuo’s voice, sounding tense and hoarse, clearly suffering from a hangover as well.

“Oh, oh! I’m up, Qingshuo, just a moment.”

Jian Shuning stumbled out of bed to open the door, smiling apologetically. “I’m so sorry to bother you…”

She suddenly froze.

The two women, one inside the room and the other outside, stared at each other in shock, the air freezing around them.

After a long moment, Jian Shuning found her voice, trembling as she pointed at the other person. “You, you, you are who?! Why do you have… my face?!”

The room fell silent again, the silence seeming to stretch to the ends of the universe.

Then, two screams echoed in unison, almost lifting the ceiling!

She and Qingshuo had swapped bodies!

This kind of thing that only happens in novels and movies was actually happening in real life!

Jian Shuning was stunned, touching her slender face and looking down at her graceful figure, her lips forming an O shape.

Compared to her sudden transformation into a beauty, Du Qingshuo was unlucky, now with Jian Shuning’s round face and soft, plump figure. She had gone from a slim beauty to a chubby girl!

“I’m so sorry, sister, I’m really sorry for you,” Jian Shuning felt guilty, even feeling wronged for Du Qingshuo herself.

After the initial shock, Du Qingshuo found it somewhat amusing.

This silly girl, even after such an inexplicable body swap, was only thinking about how she had wronged someone else, completely forgetting her own grievances.

“This isn’t your fault!” Du Qingshuo said softly. “What should we do now?”

“Yes, what should we do?” Jian Shuning worried.

“I have to fly to Japan for a business trip today. I have a meeting scheduled with two Japanese companies tomorrow to sign a contract. Josh, the company’s boss, will also be there. We’ll also discuss setting up a branch office in Japan.”

“What? You’re going on a business trip with my brother?”

Du Qingshuo looked at Jian Shuning meaningfully.

Jian Shuning was taken aback and pointed at herself in horror. “You mean I have to go on a business trip with my brother using your identity? I can’t do it!”

She panicked and started pacing around the room. “I don’t know anything. I can’t do what you can. I don’t even know what the other person looks like. How can I sign a contract in your place? No way! I have to tell my brother, tell him that I’m not really me… No, I should say this body isn’t mine…”

“Calm down!” Du Qingshuo held Jian Shuning’s hands, calming her with her gaze. “Who would believe this if you told them? Do you want to be thought of as crazy?”

Jian Shuning was stunned. “But…”

Du Qingshuo’s expression was serious. “I think this soul swap is temporary. Isn’t that how it always happens in movies? As long as there’s a certain trigger, we can switch back.”

“Yes, yes, yes! We should be able to switch back…” Jian Shuning suddenly realized, slapping her hand. “I remember now! Yesterday, the boss’s wife gave us that wishing sake, saying it could make our wishes come true… Later, I did say I wanted to become you, sister.”

Du Qingshuo paused, also remembering. “Could that sake really have some magical power?”

Jian Shuning was lost in thought, finding it incredible even though it was her own guess. “And yesterday, there was that big thunderstorm, with lightning striking right in front of us… They say strange things are more likely to happen during thunder and lightning…”

Du Qingshuo also recalled the dangerous scene of the lightning strike the previous night. “So, if we drink that wishing sake again during the next thunderstorm, we should be able to switch back our bodies.”

“That would be great.” Knowing there was hope to reverse this absurd situation, Jian Shuning sighed in relief. “Otherwise, it would be too unfair for you to have my face and body, sister!”

“Don’t be silly,” Du Qingshuo shook her head and smiled.

“Hehe.” Jian Shuning scratched her head, smiling awkwardly.

Looking at her usually elegant face now showing such a silly smile, Du Qingshuo felt a bit strange. She suddenly thought that perhaps there was some meaning behind this dramatic event that fate had arranged for them. Thinking about it, Du Qingshuo smiled slightly and patted Jian Shuning. “Don’t worry about it for now, and don’t rush to tell Josh about this. Let’s keep it as a secret between the two of us, okay?”

“Okay, okay!” Jian Shuning nodded repeatedly.

“This trip to Japan for the signing is very important and cannot be canceled at the last minute. ‘Du Qingshuo’ must appear, so you must go.”

“But, sister…”

“Don’t worry, I can go with you as an assistant.”

“Assistant?”

“Yes, you can explain to Josh that there are some minor tasks that need help with, so you want to borrow ‘Jian Shuning’ from the company. Just buy an extra plane ticket, and we can fly to Japan together.”

This way, Qingshuo can cover for her at any time.

Jian Shuning suddenly understood, and Du Qingshuo smiled at her with a wink.

This was indeed a good idea, but…

Jian Shuning twisted her fingers, feeling very embarrassed as she spoke, her voice as soft as a kitten’s meow. “Sister, I’m sorry…”

“What’s wrong?” Du Qingshuo asked, puzzled.

Jian Shuning glanced at her, feeling so embarrassed she wanted to hit her head against the wall. “My passport, it’s at my home in Tainan…”

This time, it was Du Qingshuo’s turn to open her mouth in an O shape.

As the plane prepared for takeoff, Jian Shuning sat in the comfortable business class seat, her body stiff, and next to her sat the handsome Zheng Yuanshi, making her heart pound so hard it almost jumped out of her chest.

She desperately tried to sort out her chaotic thoughts.

Earlier, Du Qingshuo had driven her to the airport and, on the way, briefed her on various matters. She took out her small notebook and wrote several pages of notes, filling her head with a lot of information.
