The mood of Chong Yan improved, because of the familiar, gentle touch.
Chong Yan decided to reclaim his eyes.
His divine consciousness swept through like a vast abyss, seeing everyone within this small space searching for it.
“That proverb must be related to water, each mountain stream here flows down from the mountaintop.”
“It is said that the Sword Saint of the Wuji sect has some special routes. We’ll follow them.”
“With this Divine Meteor Eye in hand, can we truly achieve great power without moving from our spot?”
“After all, it is the eye from that ancient demon’s body.”
It’s strange, Chong Yan thought.
Although they called him a cruel devil and wished him dead countless times, every single person still wanted to find his eyes.
So, he wanted to find them and give them as a gift to her.
Chong Yan’s icy gaze swept over those people.
Men and women with cuts and wounds holding a map, enduring the mad onslaught of nightmare bees in the mountain valley. Their clothes torn, their skin swollen and bleeding, they shouted loudly while searching for a path.
Stopping a few of those people, Chong Yan followed behind the girl.
The dead demons withered into a strange bone illusion, the entangled branches between the mountain snow and vegetation absorbed and hunted. The mountain streams were filled with countless fish, their existence threatened by lurking dangers in this secret realm.
“Wow, what a beautiful scenery,” said Yao Yao, looking around.
She never expected to be able to enjoy the scenery in a game world, where the white snow intertwined with the green of the mountains, creating a unique landscape.
Even though the main storyline of the Naitian Secret Realm seemed extremely dangerous for the protagonists, Yao Yao climbed halfway up the mountain without encountering a single monster. It felt like a leisurely outing.
Yao Yao stood with her hands on her hips, fanning herself with her little hand. It was a bit hot.
The scorching sun hung high above, like a fiery umbrella.
She looked up and suddenly noticed that the huge thing above where the names are listed had started to flicker on and off, with a large section completely extinguished.
Yao Yao was shocked. How did they all die?
The disciples of the sect were basically scattered all over the place, and soon she could roughly see the extent of the casualties.
Clearly, the Wuji sect had suffered heavy losses. Li Cangyan was first cut by Yao Yao, then forcibly used his luck to hasten the healing process and resist the unknown force, causing severe internal injuries. There was no one in the entire Wuji sect who could fight better than him, so after Li Cangyan couldn’t continue, they were collectively defeated, and Su Yilin cried even louder.
Haha.
Yao Yao wiped off the sweat on her nose and felt a sense of joy. It seemed that the combination of her and Chong Yan was indeed powerful.
She turned her head and saw that Chong Yan’s tall figure was quietly blocking the light for her. Yao Yao suddenly realized that she could be completely enveloped by his silhouette.
Even though Chong Yan was only two centimeters tall in her phone, in reality, he was much taller than her. It made Yao Yao feel a sense of security.
From this angle, Yao Yao could see Chong Yan’s clean white collar, no sweat on his forehead, his three-dimensional and profound facial features calm, and his whole body still as cold as wood.
So handsome, hehe.
Yao Yao’s heart filled with a hint of sweet satisfaction. She wondered how Chong Yan would react when he found out her true identity.
“Let’s keep going,” she said. “I need to water the roses outside.”
Chong Yan nodded and looked up quietly. “Okay.”
Indeed, they needed to go up.
He silently cleared the path for Yao Yao and laid it out for her.
But Yao Yao’s footsteps gradually became heavy.
It’s so hot.
Too hot, something’s not right.
Yao Yao originally thought it was her blood fever acting up, but when she looked up, the mountain stream flowing down from the mountaintop was no longer rushing, the water gradually became thin, and in the time it took to burn an incense stick, a dried-up black-brown riverbed was exposed.
Trees withered, grass stems curled, and there was a faint scent of dry blood in the air.
Yao Yao remembered the proverb that Lan Tongshu told her, and suddenly realized that something was amiss.
“The tears of the gods guide the Divine Meteor Eye,” but the secret realm was rapidly evaporating all its moisture, which would prompt all entrants to appear near the surviving lakes.
Yao Yao couldn’t help but think of the murals she saw in the abandoned temple in the Abyss.
Did the ancient god-demon shed tears back then?
Where could its eyes be?
Yao Yao wanted to communicate with Chong Yan but gave up when she realized that he probably didn’t know what these people were searching for.
Chong Yan blinked his eyes and silently wrapped a cool breeze around her.
______
“Quick, this way.”
Li Cangyan and Su Yilin, along with the disciples of the Wuji sect, had finally broken free from the illusionary formation made of broken demon bones. However, they encountered the relentless pursuit and bites of nightmare bees in the upper area. Their bodies were swollen and in excruciating pain, feeling uncomfortable under the increasingly hot temperature.
Some disciples couldn’t help but think that it was actually wise for Yao Yao not to join them.
Su Yilin had been bitten on one side of her face, feeling on the verge of collapse but not daring to scratch. She just wanted to quickly find the Divine Meteor Eye and leave this cursed place.
“The map indicates it’s right here.”
The source of this mysterious map, which revealed Yao Yao’s bloodline secret, was a mysterious person. Therefore, Li Cangyan firmly believed in it.
The marked point on the map was right in the center of this lake.
Under the scorching sun, the reflection fell on this small, calm lake surface, like a mirror.
So, this was all the Tears of the Gods amounted to.
Li Cangyan, covered in internal and external injuries, felt somewhat relieved. At least for now, they still had the upper hand. Naitian Demon Mountain had countless mountain ridges and numerous mountain streams. The location marked on the map was not even the largest lake. Even if others followed the proverb to search, they might not find it here.
The Divine Meteor Eye must be his.
Ordinary cultivators who possessed it could unleash the power of the Deity Transformation stage. With his talent, he might even be able to ascend halfway.
“Prepare to dive.”
With the experience of encountering several waves of monster attacks just now, there were likely demons underwater as well. Since Li Cangyan was covered in injuries, he couldn’t go down himself.
None of the disciples were in a good condition, and while they hesitated, others also arrived at the location.
Yao Yao appeared with her invisible demon team.
Su Yilin immediately widened her eyes and accused, “Yao Yao, you secretly followed us.”
Yao Yao looked at her in surprise. “If you’re in such a state, why would I follow you? Do you think I’m begging for food from you?”
Su Yilin became frustrated. “You…”
Since becoming the junior sister of the Wuji sect, she had been cherished and doted on by her master and senior martial siblings. Su Yilin had never been in such a sorry state before, and now she had been seen by Yao Yao of all people.
