Strong to the point that no one in the room could sense its existence.
Two invisible magnetic fields gently collided in the hall.
Chong Yan slowly curved his lips, and his pale fingertips leisurely traced sharp bone spurs.
Then, Yao Yao poked into a soft and chewy sweet cake.
Yao Yao’s cheeks were stuffed, and she quietly mouthed to him that it was delicious.
Chong Yan slowly retracted his bone spurs.
He was easily appeased.
It doesn’t matter. He realized Yao Yao has no connection with this person.
Meanwhile, the black-haired waiter obediently lowered his head and poured a cup of tea for the girl in front of him.
Hmph.
The first person to bring him something shiny appeared when he couldn’t even transform yet, just a snake.
And now, he had a more beautiful human form, and she appeared. So, he felt very confident that he must be more attractive than that thing that dared not show its face.
His true form was so big, so well-maintained, so magnificent. What beast could be more beautiful than him?
He was a deity of the deep sea, but it wasn’t always like that.
He was originally a black snake hidden in the deepest trench of the Eastern Sea. He liked shiny things. When he wasn’t as big as he is now, he didn’t receive the same treatment from the entire Eastern Sea.
This snake believed that its greatest advantage was its superior beast form. Unfortunately, its beauty was buried in the sunless depths of the sea. The seabed was too boring, and time was different from the outside world.
It swam every day until one day, a small pearl appeared out of thin air.
That small pearl let it know for the first time that its beautiful snake body buried at the bottom of the sea had attracted someone’s attention. That feeling was just too good. However, the small pearl probably hasn’t appeared for three thousand years now.
He could only fill the emptiness and boredom of his life with the guidance offered by others.
Wen Yu knew he couldn’t be considered a good snake. He was merely stirring up waves in the deep sea, swallowing ships, and sending people back. After thousands of years, he was glorified as a god, enjoying worship and a life of luxury.
However, the guidance people have been providing over the years has been quite dull, just like those two foolish individuals earlier.
After thousands of years, the little black snake had transformed into a luxurious giant snake. But for him, the most important thing was still the first sparkling one from back then.
Wen Yu secretly glanced at the young girl.
When he poured tea for her, she would smile and say thank you. She was even better than he had imagined.
It’s alright; after all, he would protect her in the deep sea.
These people had all come to find something in the deep sea.
Although he didn’t know what that shining thing in the deep sea was for, as long as she wanted it, he could help her get it.
Wen Yu stood up and quietly followed the other attendants as they exited.
Ah, he was so handsome and talented, waiting for her for three thousand years.
Where else could she find someone better than him?
The banquet continued.
After the attendants left, the entire hall felt half-empty, with a hint of emptiness amidst the luxury.
But no one noticed.
Chong Yan leaned against Yao Yao’s side. She was full and starting to doze off.
So, Chong Yan only glanced outside and continued to sit quietly, allowing her to rest comfortably against him.
However, at some point, the people from the Lan family also disappeared.
Slowly, some people began to realize that something was wrong.
“Wait, wasn’t it daytime when we arrived earlier?”
But now, outside the windows of the hall, it was pitch black.
The crowd started to panic.
Li Cangyan and Su Yilin exchanged a glance, seemingly much calmer, as if they had obtained some information in advance.
Yao Yao rubbed her eyes and followed suit, looking outside.
The darkness outside the window was not the darkness of the night.
It was a flowing darkness.
Twisting, like waves, surging darkly.
Yao Yao instantly became alert and quickly grabbed Chong Yan.
While Chong Yan were indeed powerful, the Eastern Sea was not their realm of expertise. Chong Yan might not even know how to swim, let alone have been to a place like this. She had to protect him.
Yao Yao looked anxious.
At this moment, the huge disk hanging in the Lan family hall suddenly began spinning aimlessly.
Yao Yao stared at it for a while and suddenly realized what it resembled.
Carved in the center was a sea snake, a wooden structure in the shape of a wheel. It was clearly a massive ship’s helm.
The entire hall had transformed into a “ship.”
The darkness outside the windows was not the night; it was the deep sea. They had silently entered beneath the Eastern Sea.
And evidently, this ship was a sinking ship.
The deep black seawater began flooding in at an extremely fast pace, rapidly depleting the oxygen within the “ship.” The crowd finally realized that the perilous situation had already begun.
Yao Yao quickly took out the respiration pills she had bought and swallowed one herself, then handed one to Chong Yan.
How nerve-wracking.
In an instant, the sinking ship that had brought them into the sea, its hull breaking into five pieces.
Everyone fell into the pitch-black darkness.
In the endless darkness, it feels as though a pair of deep and welcoming eyes are present.
Welcoming them to the depths of the sea.
This is the realm of the sea god.
Water, surrounded by water.
Only by constantly treading water can one float in place; otherwise, they will quickly sink into even deeper, bottomless darkness.
The underwater vortexes seem like invisible formations. People caught in them are immediately scattered by the currents and carried towards unknown directions in the pitch-black abyss.
In the depths of the sea, it is not the enormity that is most frightening, but the unknown.
In the darkness, one can imagine more vividly.
Looking ahead, it always feels like there’s an enormous unknown creature approaching, ready to swallow her whole in the next second.
Whimpering, Yao Yao trembles, thinking of Chong Yan and how she needs to find and protect him.
And at that moment, a faint light emerges from the distance of the darkness.
Something black emits a glow, tracing an elegant dark line through the sea, silently moving in the depths. It seems to guide and showcase.
In the deep sea, the great black snake becomes even more enchanting.
Someone near Yao Yao unexpectedly discovers the trace of the sea god, immediately overjoyed, thinking they have received the blessings of the sea god. So, they swim while excitedly blowing a string of bubbles.
It’s the sea god.
The sea god is guiding us.
Yao Yao also turns her head, but the next moment, her waist is held by someone, and she leans against its chest.
He is not as grand and magnificent as the giant snake.
Yet Yao Yao sees Chong Yan’s silver-white hair, emitting a faint glow.
Being held by him, in the serene darkness of the deep sea, Yao Yao suddenly feels no fear at all.
The snake’s shadow swims in the distance, twisting and turning magnificently.
But Chong Yan remains still in the water.
Serious and dignified.
His immense divine body is concealed in the darkness. He can instantly break through the illusionary formations of the entire sea, but in the presence of that magnificent snake, he does not reveal himself.
Chong Yan simply holds her tightly.
Yao Yao blinks in the water, observing him for a while before finally noticing something.
In the dim light, she gets closer to him and transmits her voice, “Chong Yan, are you breathing?”
Chong Yan do not understand the sea.
He has been holding his breath underwater, so not a single bubble comes out.
After a moment, Chong Yan opens his mouth and says, “Oh.”
He blows out a bubble.
Yao Yao looks at him and can’t help but smile.
So silly.
In the distance, the great black snake sways gracefully.
Although it would be safer to follow the sea god, Yao Yao leans against him, finally smiling as she rests her head on Chong Yan’s chest. His heart is here in this sea, and she will find it with him.
Because Chong Yan is truly a fool.
Fools need her.
