Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad! Chapter 7: Huh? Hubby… Did He Say I Ate Too Much?

He looked so slim, yet he ate so much for breakfast that Mo Xuchen was worried he might make himself sick.

Does this guy not know when he’s full?

Ji Yunzhi, who had been excited just moments ago, instantly wilted upon hearing Mo Xuchen’s words, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.

Did hubby think he ate too much?

Reluctantly putting down his chopsticks, he glanced at the leftover food on the table and asked timidly,

“Can I still eat in the future?”

Would hubby think he eats too much, worry he can’t afford to keep him, and abandon him?!

Nooo, please! T﹏T

Mo Xuchen: “…”

That expression—was he still not full?

But eating too much at once wasn’t good, and even if he wasn’t full, he couldn’t eat any more. He’d already had so much.

Mo Xuchen’s gaze drifted downward, landing on Ji Yunzhi’s stomach. His pajamas were too loose—who knew if his belly was round and full from all that food…

“You can eat more at lunch.”

Ji Yunzhi’s eyes instantly brightened. He hugged Mo Xuchen’s arm and nuzzled happily against his shoulder.

“Hubby, you’re the best!”

Mo Xuchen’s expression stiffened slightly. He pulled Ji Yunzhi’s hand away and checked his watch.

“I need to go to the office. You—”

Uh…

What should he do with this guy?

He’d already asked Chen Qi to look into Ji Yunzhi’s background. Once he found out where he came from, he could send him back. But there was no news yet.

As Mo Xuchen pondered what to do with Ji Yunzhi, the latter tugged at his sleeve and looked at him expectantly.

“Hubby, can I come with you?”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

“No.”

When he was busy, he wouldn’t have time to look after him.

Bringing Ji Yunzhi home last night had already been trouble enough. He couldn’t afford to add more complications today.

“Just stay home and play.”

“Okay…”

Ji Yunzhi pouted but agreed. Still, he didn’t want to be apart from Mo Xuchen, so he followed him all the way to the car to see him off.

Mo Xuchen sighed helplessly. “Alright, go back inside.”

Ji Yunzhi waved. “Bye-bye, hubby.”

“When will you be back?”

“When I’m done with work.”

Ji Yunzhi stood there, watching Mo Xuchen’s car drive away until it disappeared from sight. He let out a long sigh and muttered under his breath,

“When is ‘done with work’ supposed to be…?”

Dejected, Ji Yunzhi shuffled back into the villa. He saw someone cleaning up, taking the plates from the table, and hurried over, sticking close behind her like a clingy shadow.

“Um, excuse me… Where’s the food from earlier? The stuff that wasn’t finished?”

Aunt Liu pointed to where the plates were placed and smiled. “It’s still there. Do you want to eat more, young master? I can heat it up for you.”

Ji Yunzhi blinked his round, innocent eyes and pointed at himself, confused. “Young master? You mean me?”

People usually called him “little idiot” or “stinky beggar.” This was the first time he’d ever been called something like this.

Aunt Liu smiled and nodded, thinking the boy was absolutely adorable and so endearing—no wonder the young master had brought him home.

“Yes, young master. You can call me Aunt Liu.”

Ji Yunzhi nodded obediently and greeted cheerfully, “Hello, Aunt Liu!”

Aunt Liu happily acknowledged him and circled back to the earlier topic. “Young master, are you still hungry? Should I prepare something else for you?”

Ji Yunzhi rubbed his belly. He was a little full, but he could still eat.

But… hubby said he had to wait until lunch.

He had to listen to hubby!

With longing eyes, he glanced at the leftover breakfast on the side but shook his head.

“Aunt Liu, I won’t eat now. I’ll wait for lunch.”

As he watched Aunt Liu bustling around, Ji Yunzhi instinctively moved to help, but she quickly shooed him out of the kitchen.

“Young master, go play outside—watch TV or do whatever you like.”

There was no way she could let someone the young master brought home help with chores! That just wouldn’t do!

As she spoke, she led Ji Yunzhi to the living room and even turned on the TV for him.

Ji Yunzhi heard a character on the screen call out *

“Hubby!” and immediately fixed his eyes on the screen, unblinking.

Huh? So you’re supposed to hug your husband when seeing him off?

Wait—and give him a kiss?!

Ji Yunzhi shyly rubbed his cheeks, committing this to memory.

By noon, Ji Yunzhi stared at the dishes on the table, swallowing hard.

He’d spent the whole morning thinking about the breakfast he hadn’t finished, waiting for lunch—only to find an even more delicious feast waiting for him!

Faced with this spread of mouthwatering dishes, he completely forgot about the leftovers from earlier.

His head tilted toward where Aunt Liu stood, though his eyes remained glued to the food. After a few more longing glances, he finally looked at her and asked,

“Aunt Liu, is all this for me?”

Aunt Liu smiled and nodded. “Yes, the young master instructed me to prepare this for you. Go ahead and eat, young master.”

Ji Yunzhi beamed and picked up his chopsticks, but then a thought struck him.

“Aunt Liu, the ‘young master’ you mentioned earlier… that’s my hubby, right?”

Hearing Ji Yunzhi call Mo Xuchen “hubby” firsthand, Aunt Liu was utterly shocked. She forced a stiff laugh and replied,

“Uh… probably… yes?”

Ji Yunzhi’s smile widened. Hubby was just too good to him! Even while at work, he still made sure he wouldn’t go hungry.

Just as Ji Yunzhi was about to polish off every last dish on the table, Mo Xuchen conveniently called Aunt Liu.

And then, Ji Yunzhi could only watch helplessly as Aunt Liu began clearing away the remaining dishes, one by one…

“Aunt Liu…?”

Aunt Liu also thought Ji Yunzhi had eaten more than enough—she was worried he’d overeat.

But since Mo Xuchen had brought him home, she couldn’t outright tell him to stop.

Thankfully, Mo Xuchen had called just in time. She had to follow the young master’s orders!

After hanging up, Aunt Liu quickly whisked away the remaining dishes.

Seeing Ji Yunzhi’s still-hungry expression, she hesitated, then softened and left one plate for him.

“The young master said you shouldn’t eat too much at once—it’s not good for your health.”

Ji Yunzhi’s round eyes widened. His brain automatically filtered out the “not good for your health” part, only registering “eat too much.”

“Huh? Hubby… he said I eat too much?!”

He hurriedly pushed the last plate back toward Aunt Liu, turning his head away resolutely despite his reluctance.

“Aunt Liu, I… I’m full! Take this away too!”
