Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Role Acting System
A top-tier high school in &nb City welcomed a new batch of students. The air was still heavy with summer heat.
“Jiang Qiao, don’t tell me you actually like him?”
A crisp female voice rang in her ear.
Jiang Qiao snapped back to her senses.
Standing before her was a handsome boy—the male lead of the novel, Lu Xun.
[Mission: As the cannon-fodder villainess, your role is to be the obstacle in the male and female lead’s perfect love story. You must obsessively pursue the male lead, bully the female lead, and stir up trouble. Please stay in character according to the plot of the original novel.]
As the mechanical voice of 166 faded, a book appeared in her mind.
This world belonged to a campus redemption novel.
The male lead, Lu Xun, was an orphan who grew up in the slums. Bullied since childhood, he lost hearing in his left ear due to an injury and lack of money for surgery. Yet, through sheer determination, he managed to get admitted to a prestigious high school.
From there, the story began. With his outstanding looks and top academic performance, Lu Xun quickly gained fame in high school. But due to his hearing disability and cold personality, he was hard to approach.
That was when the female lead, Song Qingying, appeared. Coming from a single-parent family, she was more mature and empathetic than other girls—gentle, kind, and warm-hearted. She slowly approached Lu Xun, and after many twists and turns, finally melted his icy heart. They had a happy ending.
Jiang Qiao was the “twist and turn.”
As the eldest daughter of the powerful Jiang family in &nb City, Jiang Qiao had countless admirers thanks to her prestigious background and beautiful face. Spoiled and domineering since childhood, her life took a turn at age sixteen when she fell in love at first sight with Lu Xun—the one boy who paid her no attention.
Unfortunately, Lu Xun only had eyes for the female lead. Jiang Qiao, twisted by unrequited love, used her power and influence to obsessively pursue him. She repeatedly interfered in the couple’s relationship, separating them for six years.
In those six years, Lu Xun built his own business empire. Meanwhile, Jiang Qiao’s family went bankrupt, and she fell into ruin—working at a bar and eventually dying tragically on the day of the couple’s wedding.
After reading the novel, Jiang Qiao was speechless.
“Isn’t this ending a bit too tragic?” she silently complained to 166.
Bankruptcy? Selling herself in a bar? Freezing to death on the streets? Just thinking about it made her feel cold.
[Don’t worry, Host. This is just following the plot—you won’t actually die.]
“So if I complete the mission, I can return to my original world?”
166 went silent for a moment.
[That question is beyond my answering privileges.]
“Excuse me.”
Lu Xun’s handsome brows furrowed slightly. He wanted to enter the classroom, but Jiang Qiao was standing in his way.
Jiang Qiao gathered her thoughts, clicked her tongue, and her stunning eyes filled with a trace of pity.
“How could I possibly like him? He’s poor… and deaf.” She paused for a second, her eyes gleaming. “But I have to admit… he’s definitely handsome.”
“Listen to that—how shallow can someone be?”
Ye Qingqing rolled her eyes. “Alright, alright, Miss Jiang. That guy is a serious top student—he’s trying to change his fate through the college entrance exams. Don’t go bothering him.”
As if she would make Lu Xun’s life even harder. Jiang Qiao joked, “I’m trying to save him.”
“Yeah, yeah, sure,” Ye Qingqing said dismissively. “Let’s focus on something more important—what are we eating?”
Military training had just ended, and for once, the school leaders showed some mercy and gave everyone a day off to rest at home. After this last self-study period, they’d be free to leave.
The bell rang, followed by shouts of excitement as students swarmed out of the classroom. In a matter of minutes, the room was nearly empty.
Lu Xun, unhurried, calmly finished the last big question on his test. Hearing faint footsteps, he looked up—but all he saw was a slender figure walking away.
Outside the door, Jiang Qiao rubbed her arm where she’d been yanked hard.
“Ow, Qingqing, you’re really strong.”
Ye Qingqing rolled her eyes again. If she hadn’t pulled Jiang Qiao out in time, who knows what she would’ve done.
“What were you planning to say to him just now?” she demanded.
Jiang Qiao blinked innocently. “Nothing! I just wanted to see what kind of question he was working on—he looked so focused.”
Ye Qingqing: “……………”
She sighed. “Miss Jiang, I’m seriously warning you—don’t mess with Lu Xun. There are plenty of handsome guys out there. Can’t you go for a normal one?”
Jiang Qiao smiled. “Sounds like you have a personal grudge against him.”
“It’s not that… ugh, fine! I’ll just tell you.” Ye Qingqing stomped her foot in frustration. “I saw him at the Red Pavilion last time. He… he works there!”
Red Pavilion—the biggest bar in &nb City, infamous as a den of vice. The rich went there for fun, but the poor…
Tsk, this male lead sure is wild.
Jiang Qiao made a mental note, though she didn’t show any reaction on her face. “Forget about him—let’s go eat.”
Seeing her so calm, Ye Qingqing thought she’d lost interest and breathed a sigh of relief. “There’s a new Chinese restaurant that just opened nearby. I heard it’s really good. Let’s eat there.”
“Sure.”
“You said you’d treat me, so no backing out.”
“When have I ever?”
…
The girls’ lighthearted laughter gradually faded into the distance.
Meanwhile, Song Qingying bit her lip, nervously glancing at the cold and excessively handsome boy beside her.
“Um… Lu Xun, can I walk with you?”
