Ji Chengyi only caught on to the pattern when he got on the car.
He looked at the plush toy in his hand with a hint of resignation, “What if it’s not Lin Jindu who chose the same duck?”
“In that case, President Ji will return to the cabin with whoever selected the same plush toy,” the staff answered, then asked, “What do you think the probability is that Lin Jindu chose the same plush toy?”
Ji Chengyi calmly replied, “Twenty-five percent.”
“If it’s not Lin Jindu, who would you prefer to ride with you?” The staff tried to divert.
Ji Chengyi quickly avoided the trap, “Anyone is fine.”
Although he said that, Ji Chengyi still asked with concern, “How long is the journey from the airport to the cabin?”
“About an hour and a half.”
Ji Chengyi murmured quietly, “That long…”
Seeing Ji Chengyi’s slightly downcast mood, the staff whispered, “But don’t worry, President Ji, we’ll make two stops along the way. If Lin Jindu didn’t select the same plush toy, you two will meet up again during the subsequent synergy segment.”
Ji Chengyi: “…….”
Although Ji Chengyi had just mentioned that the personal synergy between him and Lin Jindu was minimal, at that moment, he sincerely hoped that Lin Jindu had chosen the same plush toy as him.
However, things didn’t go as planned.
Ten minutes later, someone opened the right side door.
Ji Chengyi turned to look, his expression calm.
It seemed like he wasn’t particularly anticipating it to be Lin Jindu.
But the next second, as he saw who was coming towards him…
There was a fleeting sense of mild disappointment in Ji Chengyi’s eyes. On the other hand, Yu Heyan appeared to have known it was him in the car, his eyes full of joy. He was so delighted, ready to call out “Yi-ge.”
However, before he could utter a word, Ji Chengyi calmly spoke first, “Hello, I’m Ji Chengyi.”
His crisp voice pierced through Yu Heyan’s heart filled with anticipation, shattering his hopes instantly.
Feeling dejected, Yu Heyan frowned, almost instinctively about to playfully whine to Ji Chengyi.
But realizing they were still on live camera, he held back.
Unable to call out or play cute, Yu Heyan was at a loss.
As he bent down to sit in the car, a cloud of discontent hung over him.
His slightly pitiful eyes continued to gaze straight at Ji Chengyi.
Ji Chengyi turned his head away, refusing to meet his gaze.
Yu Heyan felt even more aggrieved.
【Yu Heyan, really? Even if he didn’t choose his practice spouse, would he really pout at the handsome CEO like that?】
【Huh? Do you call this pouting at someone?】
【Not pouting, that’s throwing a tantrum. Smile.jpg】
【No… Why do I feel like something’s off between Yu and Ji?】
【Add one plus one, Ji’s gentle demeanor changes the moment he sees Yu Heyan】
【Not sure, let’s keep watching.】
Seeing the curious barrage of comments, Director Li felt a sense of melancholy. If it hadn’t been Ji Chengyi standing alongside Yu Heyan today, Li would have used their relationship to hype up the show. Unfortunately, Yu Heyan’s ex-boyfriend just had to be Ji Chengyi, who was not someone they could afford to provoke.
Moreover, before filming began, the producer Song had issued a strict order: anyone who dared to stir up a romantic pairing between Ji Chengyi and his beloved Lin Jindu would face immediate termination, not just from this production, but from the entire industry. Li had worked with Song Luoyun for many years and knew the power she wielded, first with the Song Group and now with Shengda Capital.
Li couldn’t afford to cross her.
Helplessly, he had to watch this wave of potential excitement slip away.
Inside the car, as the staff waited for Yu Heyan to buckle up, they reminded from the backseat, “Please fasten your seat belts; we’re about to depart.”
Ji Chengyi fastened his seat belt promptly.
Yu Heyan, eyes on Ji Chengyi, slowly followed suit, his movements a beat behind.
As the car started moving, the staff timely asked, “President Ji, have you considered that Yu might be the one coming?”
“Based on probability, I’ve thought of everyone,” Ji Chengyi’s voice remained calm, as if Yu Heyan’s presence had no effect on his emotions. This calm response saddened Yu Heyan.
Unable to contain himself, Yu Heyan asked, “President Ji, have you ever thought beyond the probabilities?”
Ji Chengyi responded with a simple “No.”
Implying he never considered the possibility of any synergy between him and Yu Heyan. However, Yu Heyan’s mood lightened as he chuckled, “It seems like President Ji and President Lin truly have no synergy.”
Ji Chengyi simply acknowledged with a grunt, not continuing the conversation.
【Yan-ge, just don’t call yourself the eldest and leave me out, you and your practice spouse also have zero synergy… Sigh.jpg】
【Oh my, I just realized that Yu and Ji have great chemistry in terms of looks, the CEO beauty and her adorable little puppy!!】
【Don’t say that… really, don’t say it! It’s actually starting to look like that!】
【I don’t agree with this arranged marriage, Yan-ge is ours!!!】
【I’m dying of laughter, even though the sweetness from the two CEOs is a bit much, Lin Jindu’s hardware definitely outshines Yu Heyan by miles!!】
【I’m cracking up, someone empathizing with a capitalist? Come on! Lin Jindu was just lucky to be born into it! But my Yan-ge has achieved everything through hard work!】
【Stop arguing, take it to the dance studio! Don’t disturb me watching the beautiful CEO!! Frustrated.jpg】
The atmosphere wasn’t pleasant for Ji Chengyi.
The same went for Lin Jindu.
He had thought the staff genuinely wanted to reunite him with Ji Chengyi. However, upon getting on the car, he realized that selecting the plush toy was a test of synergy for the guest couples. The absence of Ji Chengyi in the car he chose indicated that they didn’t have mutual selection.
At that moment, Lin Jindu couldn’t quite describe his feelings and only blamed himself for not being cautious enough. Quietly, he reviewed the situation in his mind.
Trying to see from Ji Chengyi’s perspective, the selection of the plush toy he might choose, one thing stood out – a small cat figurine among his belongings. Unfortunately, none of the plush toys resembled a cat. Cats… furry creatures. The plush rabbit, on the other hand, was fluffy. Could it be that Ji Chengyi selected the rabbit?
“Did Lin Jindu feel any disappointment for missing the chance to ride with Ji Chengyi? Would he feel regretful?” the staff asked at the right moment.
Lin Jindu’s voice remained indifferent, “It’s okay.”
“If given another chance, which plush toy would Lin Jindu choose?” the staff inquired.
Lin Jindu looked at her, “Choosing the right one allows a shared ride?”
The staff chuckled, “Sorry, that’s not an option.”
Lin Jindu pursed his lips and smiled, “Then, I refuse to answer.”
Staff: “….”
Taking a deep breath, the staff persevered, “Then, have you thought about who you would ride with?”
Lin Jindu replied casually, “I haven’t thought about it.”
Anticipating the next question, Lin Jindu preempted, “Anyone is fine.”
Staff: “….”
【Ji Chengyi next door: “Anyone is fine.” Lin Jindu here: “Anyone is fine”… Ladies, aren’t you shipping them yet? Such synergy!!】
【Encouraging people to indulge in fake sweetness – may thunder strike down those who try. Smile.jpg】
【No need to search for rocks in the candy jar, ladies! Come over to the next door and watch Deep Color! It’s great for indulging!!】
【I’m laughing, who’s coming over to Lin Jindu’s side? Is it Chi Xingwen?】
【It’s Yao Tong who’s coming, and he chose the big white bear.】
Just as the barrage mentioned Yao Tong, a handsome young man with a gentle appearance opened the car door holding a white bear plush toy.
