The False Daughter Descends the Mountain to Marry in Another’s Stead, While the True Master Seeks Nightly Divinations
Chapter 19: Only You Don’t Know

Yu Ning rolled up her sleeve and stuck the talisman on her arm.

“Hahaha, she put it on herself? Watched too much anime—”

The crowd burst into laughter but soon found themselves unable to laugh.

One by one, they were all horrified, their eyes wide as they looked at Yu Ning’s arm.

Her fair arm revealed a strange talisman shape, like a red tattoo.

“Did you get that semi-permanent tattoo from some cheap online store?”

The head bodyguard felt his own words were nonsense as soon as he spoke them.

What kind of tattoo could appear in an instant?

While everyone was still trying to figure out what it was, Yu Ning made her move again.

None of the bodyguards saw how she did it, but the black cat was back in her hands.

Yu Ning cradled the cat in her palms, seeing it beaten and barely alive, her eyes turned even redder.

As her emotions changed, the color of the talisman on her arm deepened, emitting a sense of eerie.

“Captain, she seems a bit odd…”

The bodyguards were startled by the abnormality around Yu Ning, instinctively taking a step back.

In a flash, Yu Ning appeared in front of the captain.

Compared to before she applied the talisman, her movements had become much more agile.

Anyone familiar with Taoist mountain techniques would recognize that she was now using the Gold Fist from the Five Elements Fist.

This technique enhanced muscle elasticity and body agility, significantly increasing flexibility.

Using the power of the talisman, she gained this ability temporarily. Although the side effects were significant, she didn’t care about them for the sake of avenging her pet.

“How many times did you hit it?” Yu Ning’s eyes were icy.

The talisman had unlocked her potential, also releasing her repressed nature, adding a touch of evil and dominance to her demeanor, which made the captain shiver.

“So what if I hit it? What are you going to do about it—ah!”

The captain couldn’t finish his sentence before Yu Ning knocked him over with a punch.

Just as he had bullied the kitten, Yu Ning held his head in the same manner and smashed it forcefully against the ground.

Seeing this, the other bodyguards rushed to save the captain, but the next moment, they were all thrown back.

With the added speed, Yu Ning’s combat power was on a completely different level than before, and she kicked all the bodyguards away within a minute.

“Apologize to my cat!” Yu Ning said coldly, tightening her grip with each word.

The captain almost thought his skull would be crushed by her.

“I’m sorry! I was wrong! I won’t dare again!”

Only then did Yu Ning let go.

She walked straight to Lin Anbang, passing by the bodyguards she had defeated.

Lin Anbang, unable to laugh anymore, looked at Yu Ning in horror.

This girl had taken down all his bodyguards in two minutes!

“You found it funny, huh?” Yu Ning punched forward.

Lin Anbang felt a gust of wind graze his cheek, followed by a cracking sound from the wooden sofa back behind him.

“Old man, you think you’re tough? So arrogant, why don’t you go bark around Mount Sanqing?” Yu Ning sneered.

She had split the sofa in half with her bare hands! Lin Anbang’s eyes widened in shock.

Just when Lin Anbang thought Yu Ning would drag everyone out to bark like a dog, she stepped back.

The talisman marks on her arm vanished; the time was up.

The violent and bloodthirsty feeling that had swept through her body dissipated, replaced by overwhelming fatigue.

This was the side effect of the talisman; it amplified her hidden negative emotions during use and left her weak after its effect wore off.

Yu Ning now felt her body was exhausted, but she still stood straight and spoke in a cold voice:

“I’ll leave when President Lin wakes up. But until then, don’t try to play any tricks on me, understand?”

All the bodyguards nodded in unison, their previous arrogance and contempt gone. They had been subdued by her strength.

Yu Ning looked at Lin Anbang.

Lin Anbang tried to maintain his authority as the head of the family, but his head betrayed him, nodding slightly.

“Good, we’ve reached an understanding. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going upstairs.”

Yu Ning turned and left, ignoring the wary and angry stares, maintaining her straight posture until she entered the elevator.

Once inside, she leaned against the wall, her face pale, breathing heavily. This was the aftermath of forcibly borrowing power.

Her eight meridians were congenitally blocked, preventing her from gathering qi.

Although her master had taught her much theoretical knowledge, her blocked meridians made it impossible to gather qi.

Many abilities related to qi were thus out of her reach.

In the emergency just now, she could only rely on the talismans her master left her for protection.

Despite her weak state, Yu Ning hadn’t forgotten the little guy in her pocket.

Enduring her weakness, she returned to the room, took out a medicine bottle, and fed a crushed spirit pill to the cat.

Half for the cat, and half for President Lin in his bed.

The pill had to be consumed quickly after being broken, or its effectiveness would diminish.

Yu Ning thought that a good sleep would restore her, so she didn’t want to waste the medicine. It was more cost-effective to give it to the person in a coma.

After doing all this, Yu Ning could no longer hold on, collapsing onto the bed, still holding the black cat tightly against her chest.

Before falling asleep, she felt the worried gaze of the black cat and gently scratched its nose with her finger, giving it a reassuring smile before drifting off.

Lin Anbang sat on the cracked sofa, his face alternating between pale and red.

Being humiliated by Yu Ning in public, the more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

Mrs. Lin, too, had lost her usual elegance, her mind preoccupied with how to get Jia Qingqing out of the police station.

Yu Ning slept for two hours upstairs while Lin Anbang fumed in the living room for two hours.

Losing face was worse than losing his life; Lin Anbang didn’t want to leave in disgrace.

Just as Lin Anbang was struggling to find a way out, Lin Jun stumbled in from outside.

“Running around like a child, so unseemly!” Lin Anbang scolded, secretly relieved.

He had found a way to regain his authority as head of the family. By scolding his youngest son, he could leave with his dignity intact.

“Where’s Sister-in-law? Quickly! I need Sister-in-law!” Lin Jun, his face pale and out of breath, only made Lin Anbang angrier.

“Why are you mentioning that wild girl!”

“Never mind, talking to you is useless. I need to find Sister-in-law—Sister-in-law! Help me!”

Lin Jun shouted into his phone, which was connected to the villa’s surveillance system.

All the hidden cameras echoed his shouts.

“You knew about the surveillance?” Lin Anbang asked through gritted teeth.

“You didn’t?” Lin Jun looked at him in confusion. Wasn’t that common knowledge?

Great, the whole family knew, except they kept him in the dark, not treating him as the head of the household. Lin Anbang fumed silently as Lin Jun’s calls echoed around him.

Yu Ning, after a nap, had regained some strength. As she woke, she heard Lin Jun’s cries for help from all directions.

“Here so soon,” Yu Ning stretched, patting the refreshed black cat.

“Let’s go. There’s work to do.”
