Cheng Xuan, the campus belle of Fifth High School, happened to overhear these remarks. She shot a cold glance at the boys, who immediately shut up and scattered like birds and beasts.
Cheng Xuan was also in her senior year, but despite being in a regular class, her striking looks and fiery personality had made her the queen bee of Fifth High.
Recalling the boys’ conversation, she chewed her gum and asked her friend, “What’s that girl’s name?”
“Tang You. She just transferred.”
“Ah.” Cheng Xuan blew a large bubble, her gaze drifting to the international class across the street. “Maybe I should go see how pretty she really is.”
Since many students had art classes in the evening, Fifth High didn’t have evening study sessions.
At 6:30 PM, Tang You stepped out of the school.
Her driver was waiting for her at the school gate. On the way home, Tang You remembered her decision from the previous night.
She wanted to apologize to that man—make a formal apology.
As she neared home, she looked out the car window at the opposite side. Dusk had fallen, and the alley was lit up with twinkling lights, warm and beautiful.
Although she didn’t know the man’s name or where he lived, Tang You clearly heard the little boy call him—Brother Yao—yesterday in the alley.
So, she used the excuse of buying stationery to get out of the car and secretly went to a small shop in the alley. After hesitating for a long time, she finally asked the shop owner, “Auntie, may I ask—”
Pausing, she continued, “Where does Brother Yao live?”
The shop owner, Auntie Xian, recognized the girl who had bought soy sauce before. The girl had her hair neatly tucked behind her ears and was wearing the Fifth High School uniform, which made her feel a special connection since she attended the same school as her daughter.
Without much thought, she assumed the girl was a local resident and replied, “You should ask Qing Yao. He’s not back yet.”
Auntie Xian stood up and pointed ahead. “Go straight, turn left at the first corner. There’s a repair shop called ‘AS’—Qing Yao is probably still busy.”
“Oh, thank you.”
Tang You didn’t expect things to go so smoothly.
She had made up her mind before coming, but now that she had the man’s address, she felt a bit nervous.
Should she just go there?
It felt a bit awkward.
After thanking Auntie Xian, Tang You left, contemplating how to approach the situation without seeming too abrupt.
Suddenly, she remembered the bicycle that Auntie Rong had fiddled with at the door. She had initially planned to ride it to the market, but the chain had fallen off.
Determined, she ran back home quickly.
Ten minutes later, Tang You found the shop Auntie Xian had mentioned.
The shop sign simply read “AS.” Tang You stood at the entrance, noticing several young men moving around inside, but she couldn’t spot the man.
She parked her bike and walked in, gently tapping a staff member on the back.
“Excuse me, is there someone named Qing Yao here?”
The staff member turned around, looked Tang You up and down for a few seconds, and then whistled suggestively. “Brother Yao, a beautiful girl is looking for you!”
Tang You wasn’t used to such teasing. She nervously clasped her hands behind her back, lowered her head, and was about to rehearse what she was going to say in her mind when a voice came from behind her.
“Who’s looking for me?”
Tang You’s heart skipped a beat as she turned around.
Zhou Qinyao was wearing only a black tank top. His shoulders and arms were covered in large tattooed patterns, and his well-defined muscles made for a perfect silhouette. A silver chain with a distinctive pendant, resembling an abstract letter Y or a crescent moon, hung around his neck.
The man was drying his hands with a towel. When he saw Tang You in her school uniform, he paused, then smirked and said, “It’s you?”
As he wiped his hands, the muscles on his arms shifted, making the tattoos appear almost alive, exuding a strong sense of allure and temptation.
He was clearly intimidating, yet there was a strangely captivating, violent beauty about him.
Tang You found herself inexplicably entranced.
She wouldn’t even dare think about getting such cool tattoos.
Zhou Qinyao noticed the girl was staring at him in silence and took a step closer, clearly amused.
“What’s the matter, do I look good?”
“…”
Tang You realized her mistake and quickly averted her gaze, instinctively nodding before shaking her head.
Zhou Qinyao chuckled at her reaction and continued wiping his hands. “Did you need something?”
Tang You felt that just apologizing might be too abrupt, so she decided to start with a small talk. She turned and pointed outside. “My bike is broken… Could you help me fix it?”
Zhou Qinyao looked up and followed the direction Tang You was pointing.
When he saw the girl was seriously referring to a pink bicycle, his expression changed.
A few seconds later, he tossed the towel aside and laughed softly. “Soy Sauce Girl.”
Tang You turned back, puzzled. “Huh?”
The man leaned slightly forward and studied her eyes for three seconds. “Are you messing with me?”
“?”
Tang You didn’t understand what he meant and was about to ask for clarification when her gaze shifted and she saw a larger sign on the central wall of the shop, much bigger than the one outside—
【AS Sports Car Club】
Tang You: “……”
