Celibate Monk Prince? Then who’s the clingy little crybaby in her arms?
Chapter 3: Returning to the Luo Family

Luo Yunyan was silent for a moment before looking up at him. “I’ve been abroad since I was eleven. Life was… okay.”

Eleven? But his sister had gone missing at age four! If she really was his sister, then where had she been during those seven years?

Luo Yunzhe had a head full of questions, but he didn’t want to offend her.

So he could only sit across from her, staring without blinking.

Luo Yunyan was about ready to dig a hole and crawl in from the intensity of his gaze, when, finally, the food arrived.

Luo Yunzhe ladled her a bowl of soup first, then placed several pieces of short ribs into her bowl, and put on gloves to start peeling shrimp for her.

By the time Luo Yunyan finished her soup, he’d already slid a bowl of peeled shrimp meat across the table.

She blinked, brain not fully caught up, and reflexively picked up a piece of meat for Luo Yunzhe. “Thanks. You should eat too.”

Luo Yunzhe was stunned by the gesture, and quickly popped the meat into his mouth. Huh. How come he’d never realized sweet and sour pork with pineapple was this good before?

Luo Yunyan ate a bit faster than average, but every movement was poised and elegant—better than many of those so-called high-society heiresses.

After they finished eating, they brought the takeout meal for Assistant Zhang and returned to the hospital.

Assistant Zhang, who’d been waiting in the department director’s office, quickly stood up to greet them. “Boss. Miss Lo—”

He almost slipped. Couldn’t blame him though. This girl really did look like Madam Luo. Way more than those previous copycats with plastic surgery. Hopefully this time it was real.

He still remembered the young miss from back then—a soft, polite little dumpling who looked like a little celestial child.

Luo Yunzhe handed him the food. “Go eat. I’ll wait here.”

“Got it, Boss.” Zhang took the meal and headed into the lounge.

Luo Yunyan had always gotten sleepy after eating. She slumped into a chair, pulled her baseball cap down, and closed her eyes to rest.

Seeing her like that, Luo Yunzhe didn’t dare disturb her and sat quietly to the side.

Half an hour later, the department director burst in, face full of joy.

Luo Yunzhe stood up immediately. “Well? What are the results?”

Luo Yunyan opened her eyes too, looking up.

She already knew what the result would be—but in that moment, she found herself curious about Luo Yunzhe’s reaction.

“President Luo, I think you should see for yourself.” The director handed him the report.

Luo Yunzhe flipped to the last page right away and read:

DNA test results: 97.015% match. High probability of biological sibling relationship.

His long-held tension finally melted away—It’s real! After fifteen years, they had found her!

His gut instinct the moment he first saw her had been right. This really was his sister!

Luo Yunzhe’s eyes turned red as he stepped forward and hugged Luo Yunyan tightly. “You’re home. That’s all that matters. Thank you. Thank you for coming home.”

Luo Yunyan had been about to push him away, but hearing those words, she stopped. Her arms moved on their own and returned the hug.

Off to the side, the department director and Assistant Zhang both looked a bit emotional as well. After fifteen years… finally.

Once Luo Yunzhe had calmed down, he let go and wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes.

He asked gently, “Nuan Nuan, will you come home with me? We’ve kept your room just as it was. Someone cleans it every day. Everyone’s been waiting for the day you’d come back.”

Luo Yunyan nodded. “Okay.”

Relieved, Luo Yunzhe smiled and ruffled the brim of her cap. “Alright, let’s go home.”

He took her hand and started walking out.

Luo Yunyan glanced at their clasped hands. Well, he already hugged her, what’s holding hands now? Whatever.

Behind them, the director and Assistant Zhang exchanged a glance.

Then Assistant Zhang hurried to catch up.

Outside the hospital, Luo Yunzhe was leading her toward his car.

Luo Yunyan pulled him back. “I drove.”

“Oh? Then… can I ride with you?” Luo Yunzhe asked hopefully.

Luo Yunyan tossed him the keys. “You drive. You know the way.”

“Yes! Of course! Big Brother will drive!” Luo Yunzhe caught the keys and followed her happily, turning to shout back at Assistant Zhang:

“Zhang Yi, drive back to the office yourself. I won’t be in this afternoon. You handle it.”

Assistant Zhang gritted his teeth behind a professional smile. “Yes, Boss.”

As Luo Yunyan stopped walking, Luo Yunzhe glanced down at the keys in his hand.

Huh? Wait a second. What?!

“Nuan Nuan, this car…”

Luo Yunyan had already opened the passenger side door and slid in without looking back. “It’s mine.”

Luo Yunzhe started the car and headed toward the Luo family estate.

On the way, he asked tentatively, “Nuan Nuan, now that the results are confirmed, would you… be willing to call me Big Brother?”

Luo Yunyan looked at him, amused. “Big Brother.”

“Hey! Big Brother’s here!” Luo Yunzhe beamed like a child. He couldn’t remember the last time he smiled so wide his teeth showed.

He was the first one his sister met! The first one she called!

Luo Yunyan felt slightly awkward. Cold and elegant? Composed and unreadable? Merciless business tyrant? The one who multiplied the Luo Corporation’s value in a few short years?

Was that this guy? Was this not some fool in disguise? For the first time, she started to doubt the accuracy of her intel—this personality profile had serious discrepancies.

“Nuan Nuan, I haven’t told the family yet. I wanted to surprise them. Just so happens, Second and Third Brother are home today too.”

It was true. Before coming, Luo Yunzhe had thought: if this girl really was their sister, then a surprise would be perfect. If not, the only one disappointed would be him.

While waiting at a red light, he turned to her. “By the way, over lunch you said you’d been abroad since you were eleven. Were you adopted?”

“…More or less.”

That old man really was a nag—always controlling this and that. Still, a nag’s a nag, but also a parent. Might as well count him as her adoptive father.

“Did they treat you well?”

Luo Yunyan nodded. “Yeah. I had food and clothing, no worries.”

“What about the seven years before that? Were you in China? We searched every orphanage in the country, but there wasn’t a trace of you.” Luo Yunzhe pressed gently.

Luo Yunyan paused, turned to look out the window. “I don’t know. I had amnesia then. All I remembered was my name.”

She wasn’t lying—she really had no memory before age four.

As for those seven years… they were long gone, and the man involved was long dead. No point talking about it. If she brought it up, they’d only press her for more, and that was a pain.

“It’s alright. You’re home now. From now on, we’ll make lots of good memories together.” Luo Yunzhe’s chest tightened with pain as he reached out and patted her head.

His sister must’ve gone through some terrible accident they never knew about—bad enough to cause memory loss.

She should’ve grown up pampered like a princess in the Luo and Su families. Instead, she’d spent fifteen years drifting.

Fortunately, she met kind people later on, who took her in and raised her well. Luo Yunzhe was grateful for that.

Luo Family Estate.

Luo Chenfeng and Su Wanru were in the living room with Second Brother Luo Yunxi and Third Brother Luo Yanyi.

“Mom, Dad, what’s the point of Big Brother calling us to the living room? I was in the middle of a game!” Luo Yunxi whined as he tapped away at his phone screen.

Luo Yanyi gave him a glance before going back to his homework.

“Your brother must have his reasons. And you—you finally come home, and all you do is sleep and play games,” Su Wanru said in annoyance.

Luo Yunxi immediately shut up. He couldn’t win that argument.

Outside, Luo Yunzhe led Luo Yunyan into the house.

The butler, Uncle Zhang, heard the car and came out to check.

First glance: the eldest young master was holding a girl’s hand?! He hadn’t said anything about bringing a girlfriend home! And with that perpetually grim face of his, he actually managed to find someone?

Second glance: he got a good look at the girl’s face—and froze.

“Young Master, this is…”

Luo Yunzhe gave a slight nod and turned to look at Luo Yunyan. “Nuan Nuan, this is Uncle Zhang.”

“Hello, Uncle Zhang.” Luo Yunyan greeted politely.

Uncle Zhang’s nose tingled. “Ah, hello, young miss… I’ll go tell—”

“Wait. Uncle Zhang, we want to surprise them,” Luo Yunzhe interrupted, putting a finger to his lips.

Uncle Zhang nodded hurriedly. “Right, right! I won’t say a word. Go on in.”

Luo Yunzhe led her into the living room.

The four on the couch turned their heads at the sound of footsteps.

Their reactions mirrored Uncle Zhang’s—shock, disbelief. When they got a clear look at her face, Su Wanru jumped up from the couch, barefoot, and ran toward Luo Yunyan.

The three men followed quickly, Luo Chenfeng even grabbing his wife’s slippers as they went.

Standing before her, the four looked awkward and unsure, gazes landing on Luo Yunzhe.

When he gave a confirming nod, Su Wanru couldn’t hold back any longer. She pulled Luo Yunyan into a tight embrace and burst into tears.

“Nuan Nuan! My Nuan Nuan!”

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for all the years you suffered. It was my fault. I never gave up looking for you… I never stopped… I’m so sorry, my baby…” Her voice had gone hoarse from crying.

Luo Yunyan stiffened and threw Luo Yunzhe a desperate look for help.

But the bastard just smiled encouragingly at her like this was a great time for emotional bonding.

Great. She was on her own, then.

The problem was, she knew how to kill people—not how to comfort them!
