The classroom fell silent.
The students were stunned, like chickens frozen in place.
Not just because Ye Wushuang, who was always timid, had hit someone, or because she had won the fight.
But because—
They hadn’t even seen Ye Wushuang’s movements!!
Ye Wushuang’s speed was so fast, it was like a special effects cut in a movie!
That was impossible!
The boy who had been beaten stood up, hunched over, one hand covering his face, the other his stomach, his eyes full of shock and humiliation. “Ye Wushuang, you dare hit me? Have you forgotten who my mother is?!”
His name was Zhang Chao, and his mother, Sun Hongxia, was one of the school board members of Feiniu High School!
Ye Wushuang was truly reckless and didn’t want to stay at Feiniu High School anymore!
“Only incompetent people, when they’re on the losing side, will emphasize who their backing is and try to intimidate others.” Ye Wushuang simply stated the facts.
“You’re going to regret this!”
Zhang Chao left a threatening remark, quickly rushing out of the classroom to find his mother and complain.
The other students looked at each other, then turned to Ye Wushuang, expecting her to be remorseful and scared.
But Ye Wushuang’s face held no fear at all.
She calmly flipped open her textbook, as if no one else was in the room.
The morning sunlight slanted onto her, casting a warm and dazzling glow, yet she gave off a cold aura, so cold that people dared not approach, as if she were isolated from the world, lonely yet arrogant.
“I must be hallucinating, there’s no way the country bumpkin could turn into a cool and aloof goddess!”
The kids with weaker constitutions kept slapping their foreheads with their palms, trying to wake themselves up.
Meanwhile, at the Shiqiao Town First Hospital.
Special Ward.
Ji Hanhai was lying in bed hooked up to an IV drip, his complexion now flushed with health.
Beside the bed sat a handsome man with a tall, imposing figure and a regal aura.
The man was carefully peeling an apple, his fingers long, cold, and white, with distinct knuckles, like an artist sculpting a masterpiece. It was a sight to behold.
The atmosphere in the room was heavy.
Ji Hanhai said softly, “Grandpa is fine now, Xiaosheng, don’t be angry.”
Ji Sheng didn’t respond, continuing to peel the apple.
The founding general quickly shot a look at his bodyguard, Xiao Liu.
Xiao Liu wiped the sweat from his brow and, with a forced smile, said, “Young Master Ji, the Chief just wanted to go fishing in the mountains by himself. He didn’t expect to encounter a foreign assassin on his own turf.”
“Yes,” someone chimed in, “We still haven’t been able to find out who sent the assassin.”
Xia Country had a comprehensive surveillance network, yet to find no trace at all was too strange.
“TheQueen.” Ji Sheng stopped peeling the apple.
“You mean, Mr. Ji, that the person who attacked the Chief is connected to that “queen”?” Xiao Liu nodded with a serious expression. “If it was her, it’s definitely possible.”
Queen, the Queen of Assassins, a woman from Asia.
It’s important to note that “Queen” wasn’t her code name, but a title bestowed upon her by the entire assassin community.
She single-handedly took down the biggest drug lord in the Golden Triangle, traversed the Amazon rainforest, and toppled the British Empire’s extremist organization. She was an undisputed legend.
So, if it was Queen, everything would be explained.
But…
“But Queen is dead.”
Xiao Liu picked up a tablet computer nearby, typed in a URL, and a video popped up.
He turned the screen towards everyone and pressed the play button.
The video was very dark, the perpetrator had intentionally turned off the lights, making it impossible to tell where it was filmed. Only a single flashlight beam emitted a faint glow.
The light shone on a young boy, lying on the ground, his side profile looked innocent and fair, but he was clearly on the verge of death.
“Lucifer, come back quickly. Don’t you want to be reunited with your brother?”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the boy unexpectedly breathed his last, still and lifeless.
He had been frail and sickly since childhood, and he couldn’t withstand it.
“Damn it!” The person filming yelled angrily, “Save him! Bring him back! Didn’t I tell you to be gentle! Damn it!”
Under a barrage of curses, doctors swarmed in, but after a flurry of resuscitation attempts, they shook their heads in defeat.
He was dead.
The video ended there.
“This boy is Queen’s brother.”
Xiao Liu explained, “A month ago, Queen escaped from the organization with her brother, but he turned back halfway to buy time for her. The leader of the organization was furious, so he filmed this video, trying to lure Queen back, but there was an accident, and the brother died.”
Xiao Liu’s voice was tinged with sadness.
The boy in the video never revealed his sister’s whereabouts even in death, and he didn’t even cry out in pain.
Was it because he was worried his sister would hear his cries and come back to avenge him?
Unfortunately, his sister did return.
“Seven days after the video was uploaded, Queen returned to the organization, and she perished in the flames with those people.”
Xiao Liu shook his head, “So, it’s highly unlikely that Queen orchestrated this.”
Ji Sheng looked away from the tablet.
He hadn’t expected that the formidable Queen would end up with such a tragic fate.
“Report, Ye Wushuang’s file has arrived.” A soldier stood at the door, saluting.
“Bring it in.” Ji Hanhai was curious about what the file contained.
The first page of the file showed a student photo of a young girl, below which was written:
Ye Wushuang, 18 years old, from Shiqiao Village, father Ye Weiguo, mother Li Chunlan, currently a third-year student at Feiniu High School, ordinary student.
“Is that all?” Ji Hanhai flipped through the file repeatedly, feeling like something was missing.
“Yes…” The soldier scratched his head, unable to believe that the delicate and meek girl in the photo had saved the Chief from a foreign assassin.
“Xiaosheng, what do you think?” Ji Hanhai handed the file to Ji Sheng.
Ji Sheng looked at the girl in the photo for a moment, then his gaze fell on the four words “Feiniu Academy.”
“I’ll go to Feiniu.”
The Ji family owed a debt of gratitude for this life-saving act.
Feiniu Academy.
The closed door of Class 2, Grade 12, was suddenly pushed open, revealing a stout, elegant woman, who stormed towards the podium.
“Where’s Ye Wushuang?”
This was Zhang Chao’s mother, Sun Hongxia, one of the school board members of Feiniu Academy.
Zhang Chao, with a blood-soaked cotton swab stuck in his nose, followed behind Sun Hongxia, his face fierce as he searched for Ye Wushuang.
It took him less than three seconds to find her. Because Ye Wushuang was still sitting in her original seat, as if nothing had happened!
“Mom, she’s there!” Zhang Chao pointed and shouted.
