Diamond Candy
DC 4.1

When Tang You first arrived at the shop, she saw a row of luxury cars parked at the entrance. Since she often saw such parking zones at high-end shops, she didn’t think much of it.

Now, after re-evaluating the shop’s decor and setup, she realized that this was not the kind of repair shop she had expected.

Feeling extremely embarrassed, Tang You apologized as she pushed her bike. “Sorry, I must have come to the wrong place.”

Zhou Qinyao watched her from where he stood, seemingly trying to gauge the sincerity of her words.

The evening breeze blew gently, and the girl’s silhouette looked youthful and somewhat disoriented. She seemed eager to leave quickly, as if she genuinely didn’t know that bicycles couldn’t be repaired here.

Perhaps the soft breeze gave Zhou Qinyao an unusual sense of patience.

He unexpectedly called out to her, “Wait.”

Tang You’s feet obediently halted, but she didn’t dare turn around.

After a moment, Zhou Qinyao walked up behind her, picked up her little pink bike with one hand, and asked calmly, “What’s broken?”

Tang You glanced at him cautiously, making sure he wasn’t going to hit her, before she whispered, “The bike chain fell off.”

“……” Such a trivial issue.

AS Club was a well-known sports car modification shop in the area, a favorite spot for wealthy people who loved upgrading and customizing their luxury cars and motorcycles to enjoy the thrill of speed.

Zhou Qinyao worked here as a regular technician, but his exceptional modification skills and striking looks made him quite popular in the shop.

Many clients came to him for car modifications, with even more beautiful female clients.

Yet, he remained indifferent to everyone. Once, a young wealthy woman tried to give him a car with some suggestive intentions and ended up being harshly rejected by him.

It seemed that Zhou Qinyao had little interest in money or women.

His colleagues were used to this side of him, so when they suddenly saw him carrying a female bicycle into the shop and seriously working on the bike chain, they were all stunned.

“Who is this girl? Brother Yao is fixing her bicycle?”

“I don’t know, I’ve never seen her before!”

Some people rushed over:

“Where is she? I heard Brother Yao’s wife is here?”

“Shh… Keep it down!”

The guys thought they were whispering, but Tang You heard everything from where she stood at the door.

Her cheeks felt warm, and she couldn’t help but use her hand to cool them down, trying to hide her embarrassment. As she lifted her hand, her gaze inadvertently fell on the man inside the shop.

He was crouched in front of the bicycle, carefully fixing the bike chain with tools. He was focused, and the indoor fluorescent light cast a perfect line on his side profile.

Earlier, Tang You had found his front view stunning, but now, looking at his side profile, she realized that it was even more striking—sharp and rebellious, combining youthful vigor with mature sensuality.

It was as if the creator had blended these qualities together to craft a face that could make any girl’s heart skip a beat.

Recalling the earlier teasing conversations, Tang You felt her heart race, and she inexplicably lowered her gaze, feeling a bit guilty.

Her palms grew slightly sweaty, damp and sticky.

Tang You didn’t quite understand what was happening to her; it felt as though something deep within her heart had suddenly been stirred.

This feeling was new to her—subtle and hard to control.

Within a few minutes, Zhou Qinyao brought the bicycle out and placed it in front of her.

“It’s fixed.”

The chain, which had been dangling, was now securely in place. Tang You took the bike, her damp hands gripping the handlebars as she looked down and softly asked, “Thank you. How much do I owe you?”

“No need,” Zhou Qinyao replied indifferently as he turned to leave.

“W-wait,” Tang You hurriedly called out when she saw him about to walk away.

She hadn’t yet said what she’d prepared all night to say—if she let him leave now, her trip here would have been in vain.

Zhou Qinyao turned back. “Is there something else?”

His voice was low and naturally alluring, and the speech Tang You had prepared was suddenly jumbled by his lazy, magnetic tone.

What was the first thing I was going to say?

Why can’t I remember…

Zhou Qinyao looked at her.

Tang You could sense the confusion in his eyes, and as her palms grew even sweatier, she tried to explain the misunderstanding from yesterday, but her heart was racing, and she suddenly felt an inexplicable dryness in her throat.

Flustered, she lowered her head. “I misunderstood you yesterday.”

After a brief pause, she quickly added, “Sorry, goodbye.”

With that, she got on her bike and hurried away.

Zhou Qinyao: ?

He was momentarily stunned by her sudden apology, but before he could process her soft voice, another noise caught his attention.

Everyone around them turned to look in the direction of the sound, and Zhou Qinyao couldn’t help but turn as well.

And then: “…”

Tang You hadn’t expected that she would fall after riding less than twenty meters.

She hadn’t noticed a pothole at the corner, and when her bike wobbled, she lost control and ended up crashing to the ground with her bike.

Since fifth grade, Tang You had been driven to school by car, so perhaps it had been too long since she last rode a bike, and she’d forgotten how it felt.

She pushed the bike off her leg and tried to stand up, only to realize that the fall was more serious than she’d thought—her knee hurt.

As she pondered how to get up, a pair of hands reached out and helped her to her feet.

Tang You froze for a second, surprised as she looked up, only to hear Zhou Qinyao teasingly say:

“How did you even manage to fall off a bicycle?”

The underlying message seemed to be, “How could you be so clumsy?”

Already feeling embarrassed from falling in front of everyone, Tang You now felt a tinge of frustration and anger at his words.

She wouldn’t have even been here if she hadn’t wanted to apologize to him.

It wasn’t like she knew there’d be a pothole at the corner.

She didn’t say a word, pulled away from his warm hand, stubbornly grabbed her bicycle, and despite the pain in her knee, limped as she pushed her bike slowly in the direction of home.

Zhou Qinyao: …

Is she mad?
