Lumi cursed under her breath and ignored the knocking, but the knocking persisted, every few seconds, three or four times.

Tu Ming, who was probably a little off his rocker, wore her down. Lumi conceded. She went to open the door and saw Tu Ming standing there. He knew Lumi’s words were just anger, but he came back to make things clear with her.

His gaze fell upon her exposed neck and chest, then quickly moved away, his face, neck, and ears turning crimson.

“You’re not coming in? Hurry up then, don’t waste time if you’re not coming.” Lumi was in a bad mood because of him, and her tone wasn’t pleasant. She even wanted to grow fangs and bite Tu Ming, bite him to death.

“I’m not going in.” Tu Ming’s hand rested on the doorknob, with a posture ready to retreat at any moment. “I just came up to talk to you.”

“Talk at the door? So that the neighbors can hear?” Lumi asked him, “I’m also wearing very little, should we show it to the neighbors? Are we filming a family drama?”

Tu Ming heard this and instinctively blocked her from being seen by those outside, “Go to the sofa, I have a chill, you’re wearing too little.”

“Are you an idiot? Take off your coat! The chill will be gone! Hold me in your arms! We’ll warm up! Why are you making me go to the sofa?” Lumi was about to be driven crazy by this big blockhead. How could he be so insensitive! Did his previous marriage involve no intimacy?

She was angry, she was impatient with Tu Ming, her chest was heaving, her cheeks were flushed, like she had put on rouge.

It was even more beautiful than rouge.

Tu Ming kept looking at the window in her living room. She hadn’t drawn the curtains, and their reflections were mirrored on the glass. Her silhouette on the glass seemed to radiate a mischievous aura, while he, on the other hand, looked like a monk who couldn’t relax. The monk seemed to be constantly chanting Amitabha Buddha, “May the Buddha save me.”

They could be seen by others.

He took a step back, standing outside the line of sight from the opposite building, and pulled Lumi’s wrist, guiding her over as well.

“Look at me! What are you looking at the window for?” Lumi snapped at him again. She had gone through so much trouble to change into a nice nightgown, and he was only looking at one thing. Was he stupid?

Tu Ming swallowed, finally speaking, “Listen to me…”

Lumi didn’t want to hear him. She grabbed his collar, forcing him to lower his head, and pressed her lips against his. The chill from Tu Ming’s body made her shiver slightly. Tu Ming finally sighed, took off his coat, and pulled her into his arms. He finally closed the door, afraid of being seen.

His arms were warm, and Lumi was instantly no longer cold. She nestled in his arms, trying to find a good position to continue kissing him. Tu Ming used one hand to hold her head, stopping her from moving, while the other hand held her tightly, and he spoke to her in a soft voice, “Listen to me, Lumi.”

Lumi still didn’t want to listen to him, and she continued to struggle. Tu Ming couldn’t help himself, so he leaned down and kissed her on the top of her head, “Listen to me, stop messing around.”

This kiss melted most of Lumi’s anger, and she finally calmed down, but she was still absent-minded. She had never been held like this by Tu Ming before. Now, held in his arms, their bodies fitting together perfectly, she finally understood what she had been yearning for. It was this feeling! The lean body, so different from her boyfriends, and his unique elegant charm.

“Go on…” She finally spoke, her voice a little hoarse.

“I don’t want to just sleep with you and be done with it. I know you have no shortage of men if you want them.”

“But I want to take it slow with you, starting from a man pursuing a woman, is that okay?”

“You have plenty of time to think, whether you just want to sleep with me or truly start a relationship, that’s a different matter.”

“Mm…” Lumi heard him, she understood, but she wasn’t ready to think deeply about it now. She placed her hand on Tu Ming’s back. He was still wearing his coat inside, he must be hot, right? But she was warm, and that was fine. “Will, can you kiss me?”

“If you even ask me if I can kiss you, you’re really killing me.”

“I changed into a nice nightgown, I’m getting goosebumps from the cold, and you’re lecturing me. Do you want me to die?”

“Kiss me.”

Lumi pressed her face against his cheek, her voice muffled. She was so good at taking advantage of the situation, she understood what Tu Ming meant: he liked her.

He liked her, and she wanted to do something with him, wouldn’t it be great if it was just that simple?

She tilted her head back from his embrace to find his chin, still coaxing him, “Kiss me.”

She was like a child begging for candy, so sweet and innocent. Tu Ming finally lowered his head and brushed his lips against hers.

“Not enough.”

“More.”

Lumi tugged at his collar, playfully snuggling into his arms, her shoulders slightly reddened by the fabric of his clothes. She took off his annoying coat, tossed it to the ground, and then nestled back into his embrace. Standing on her tiptoes, she delicately kissed his chin, moving slowly towards his lips, waiting for Tu Ming to kiss her.

Tu Ming surrendered, holding her shoulders, he pressed his lips against her cheek, a gentle touch that almost brought tears to her eyes. He then turned his face, softly pressing his lips against hers. His lips were beautifully shaped, thin and clean, with a gentle and natural softness.

Lumi felt a moment of hesitation, and even her impatience seemed to dissipate. Just one kiss seemed to be enough. As their tongues met, Lumi’s legs turned weak, and she fell back into his arms.

Initially entangled in her mouth, their affection was about to overflow. Later, she followed his lead, licking his lips, and he firmly responded. They kissed for an unknown length of time, the wet sounds of their kisses making their faces blush. Surprisingly, neither Lumi nor Tu Ming made any sudden movements. Their kiss deepened, but their hands remained on each other’s shoulders, with Tu Ming’s grip getting stronger, almost as if he wanted to crush her.

Lumi’s bare skin was exposed to the air behind her, and she wanted Tu Ming to touch her, to kiss her, but she didn’t dare to make any moves. She knew that making a move would lead to failure. She acted like a modest girl, trying to tempt him, hoping that one day he would realize and fall for her.

Lumi thought Tu Ming’s proposed rhythm was quite good.

As the kiss ended, Lumi felt a bit reluctant to stop. She then suggested, “Why don’t we go to my room, lie on the bed, and just kiss… What do you think?” Her eyes sparkled mischievously.

Her words were equivalent to saying: “Let’s kiss and cuddle, but I won’t go further.” Many scoundrels said such things. In her mind, she felt like a scoundrel at that moment.

Tu Ming glanced at the window of the opposite building, worried that Lumi might be seen. He picked up his coat and draped it over her. She didn’t want to wear it, “Why would you do that? Are you trying to overheat me? You don’t even look at my body, what are you afraid of?”

Ignoring her rambling, Tu Ming went to the window and helped her close the curtains. Then he said, “Lumi, living alone, you should be careful, especially when you’re dressed lightly or at home, understand?”

Lumi finally understood why Tu Ming was looking at the window. He was full of wisdom.

She handed his coat back to him, “Are you going to stay here? It’s late, isn’t it unsafe for you to go out?”

“I’m fine.” Tu Ming put on his coat, then complimented Lumi’s combat suit, “It looks great.” He even blushed when he praised her.

Lumi chuckled, “There’s a mystery on the back. I might show you as well!” With that, she turned around, revealing her beautiful back to Tu Ming. Her skin was smooth and glossy, appearing cold and white under the light, all for Tu Ming’s eyes, even dazzling him.

“Is it nice?” Lumi asked him.

“Mm.”

“Which is better, the back or the face?” She turned her head slightly towards him, and a strand of hair brushed her shoulder, tickling her. She playfully rubbed her cheek against him, like a cat seeking attention.

“What about you, which is better, the back or the face? Did you not get a good look? Let me show you again!” Lumi turned towards him, getting close to his face, mischievously teasing him. Tu Ming couldn’t help but smile, “Stay there, I’m fine.”

“Oh.”

Tu Ming spoke the truth, Lumi changed into thick pajamas and ran to the window to look at him. This big fool really did come! Lumi changed into her pajamas and sat on the sofa in the living room, flipping through the comic books Tu Ming had brought her. Was it worth running all this way for? Humph!

Despite saying that, she still smiled.

Tu Ming didn’t seem like a divorced man at all. His reaction to her was like a young man experiencing love for the first time, it was so fresh.

“Are you home yet? If not, turn around and come back.” Lumi teased him, “It’s the weekend tomorrow, wouldn’t it be nice to sleep in?”

“You kiss me, I kiss you, if you don’t want to get out of bed, we can kiss again, wouldn’t that be better than just opening your eyes, don’t you think?”

Tu Ming reached his doorstep and saw Lumi’s message, he chuckled. Lumi’s mouth, which could say anything without a filter, was truly rare, but would she really do it? Not necessarily. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have broken up with her boyfriend so resolutely for kissing another girl after drinking.

“I’m home,” Tu Ming replied to her, “The trip was tiring, get some rest.”

“That’s it?” What kind of response is that? Can’t you say a few more words?

“Close the curtains.”

“…”

Tu Ming took a shower and got into bed. He had trouble sleeping, feeling like he had experienced a bizarre dream. He felt like his life was heading in a different direction in ways he couldn’t have imagined. He couldn’t predict whether that direction was good or bad. It was more like an adventure, because he had chosen a completely different, less accepted path. But he felt that it was particularly good, real, warm, reckless, and vibrant.

Tracy had sent him the employee 360-degree evaluation report last week, and Lumi’s scores were particularly low. Her colleagues’ feedback was: difficult to communicate with, low work contribution. Tu Ming had seen Lumi’s communication issues firsthand. She would scold suppliers, demanding they do everything perfectly, and wouldn’t compromise with colleagues on matters of principle. In the company, she had no friends except for Shang Zhi Tao and the newly arrived Tang Wuyi.

Tracy asked if he had figured out how to solve this.

He said, “I’ve thought about it, maintain it. As long as she doesn’t make mistakes.”

Tu Ming’s thoughts had also changed slightly, thanks to Lumi. He realized that the work environment was truly terrible, with many people putting on a performance, everyone caught in a chaotic, frightening, and rule-breaking competition. But he should return to the essence of work, eliminating those so-called interpersonal relationships. Was her work completed? Was it excellent? As long as he answered these two questions, the answer would be clear.

The next day, when he woke up, he went back to his parents’ house to deliver the gifts he had brought.

While they were eating, Yi Wanqiu looked at him several times, she felt that there was a subtle joy on his face, as if something good had happened.

“How was the trip?” Yi Wanqiu asked him.

“It was great. The snow in Hokkaido was beautiful. Let’s go there together next time.” Tu Ming replied.

“The last time your father and I went was over ten years ago. We should go again as a family of three.”

“Okay.”

Yi Wanqiu knew that Tu Ming was very good at keeping things to himself. You couldn’t pry anything out of him unless he volunteered it. But if he did open up, then as his parents, they would be very happy.

After dinner, Tu Ming went for a walk with his parents around the school grounds. They ran into Fang Di, a student who had visited their home with Tu Yanjing. She was riding her bike, wearing black-rimmed glasses, and upon seeing Tu Yanjing and Yi Wanqiu, she quickly dismounted and respectfully greeted them, “Hello, teachers.” It was like an old student greeting their teacher. “Hello, Tu Ming.”

“Have you finished your paper? Where did you submit it?” Tu Yanjing asked her.

“I’m still communicating about it. Are you taking a walk? Then please go first. I’ll visit your home later.” After speaking, Fang Di glanced at Tu Ming, who was standing on the side, nodded at him, and left.

Tu Ming stayed at his parents’ house until the evening. When he returned home, he asked Lumi, “Do you have any plans for tomorrow?”

“Yes. I’m going hiking. What about you?”

“I have a suggestion, want to hear it?”
