Chapter 44: Sheng Tang’s Little Assistant
Nowadays, when people refer to the Sheng family, they generally mean the branch of Sheng Tang and Sheng Yu.
The others are all collateral branches.
For many years, the Sheng family had gradually prospered through business. By the time of Sheng Yu’s great-grandfather, they had accumulated a considerable fortune.
After his death, he divided his assets equally among his three sons.
Sheng Yu’s grandfather was the middle son. He had an older brother and a younger brother.
After receiving their inheritances, the three brothers went their separate ways.
Sheng Yu’s grandfather rode the wave of the times and founded the renowned Shengshi Group, which he later handed over to his only son, Sheng Yu’s father.
Under Sheng Yu’s father’s leadership, Shengshi Group continued to grow, becoming one of the leading conglomerates in the country.
Later, Sheng Yu’s parents met with an accident, and the Shengshi Group was passed down to the then twenty-year-old Sheng Yu.
Under Sheng Yu’s leadership, Shengshi Group reached new heights, leaving other families and companies in the dust.
Compared to Sheng Yu’s branch, the other two branches of the Sheng family did not fare well. Some even squandered their fortunes and now live ordinary lives.
The only branch that has developed somewhat better is the Sheng Mingze branch.
Sheng Yu’s paternal uncle, Sheng Yu’s grandfather’s older brother, had two sons and a daughter. His daughter married a wealthy businessman from the south many years ago, leaving only his two sons to develop in the capital.
The eldest son, Sheng Tao, and the second son, Sheng Zhang, who are Sheng Yu’s two uncles, are not to be underestimated.
Sheng Mingze is the son of Sheng Zhang, while Sheng Mingwei is the daughter of Sheng Tao. Both siblings are not good people.
One is responsible for giving Sheng Yu trouble, while the other is responsible for bullying Sheng Tang.
The reason for this is that they were unable to gain an advantage from Sheng Yu’s father in the past, and now they are unable to gain an advantage from Sheng Yu.
” Qiao Qiao.”
The man’s low, cold voice rang out again.
Qiao Shuyi looked up and met a pair of dark, deep eyes.
He looked at her and said earnestly, word by word: “These years, thank you for being by my side and Tangtang’s side.”
Sheng Yu still remembers the first time he saw Qiao Shuyi.
The fourteen-year-old girl was thin and frail, with fair skin and misty eyes that held a hint of innocence.
Yet, when she stood there, she also exuded a sense of resilience and strength.
When he ordered Sheng Tang to beat Sheng Mingwei.
She was only surprised for a moment before quietly stepping aside, watching silently.
Her expression was cold, but there was a flash of satisfaction in her eyes.
Afterwards, she took Sheng Tang’s hand, blew on it, and said with a scolding yet caring tone: “Your hand is all red, does it hurt?”
At that moment, he thought the little girl was quite interesting.
Later, he forced her to let Sheng Tang beat her a few more times.
She still stood aside and watched silently.
After Sheng Tang was done, she would hand Sheng Tang the ice water she had prepared earlier, saying that it would help her hand heal.
Qiao Shuyi smiled, reached out, gently hooked the man’s hand that was hanging by his side, and whispered: “I’m also very happy to have met you and Tangtang.”
Their eyes met, and both of them had a genuine smile in their eyes.
The pleasant atmosphere lasted only a few seconds before Qiao Shuyi caught sight of Sheng Tang coming out of the restroom. She immediately let go of Sheng Yu’s hand and went to greet her.
Looking at his empty hand, Sheng Yu couldn’t help but smile wryly.
Who would have thought that his biggest rival in life would be his own sister?
…
When Qiao Shuyi and the others arrived at the banquet hall, the banquet had just begun.
Seeing Sheng Yu coming over, Ji Xingchuan, who was not far away, waved to him, gesturing for him to join them.
Sheng Yu turned to Qiao Shuyi and Sheng Tang and said, “I’m going over there. Find a seat yourselves. Call me if you need anything.”
“Okay, okay, go ahead.”
Soon, Sheng Yu went to sit beside Ji Xingchuan.
At that table, there were mostly young talents who were about Sheng Yu’s age and had a good relationship with him.
Someone had also saved seats for Sheng Tang and Qiao Shuyi, and they quickly took their seats.
Around them were also young ladies of their age.
Qiao Shuyi leaned on her chin and looked around, bored.
Familiar faces flashed before her eyes. Suddenly, a face with a sinister smile caught her eye.
Qiao Shuyi was slightly taken aback, and a name came to mind.
Sheng Mingze…
The man had a rather handsome face, but his brows and eyes had a sinister air about them. He was smiling, but it always made people feel uneasy.
Just then, Sheng Mingze suddenly stood up and quietly left his seat.
As soon as he left, Sheng Mingwei on the other side also quietly got up and left.
Everyone’s attention was drawn to the newly arrived Old Madam Ji, and they didn’t notice the two leaving.
Qiao Shuyi frowned, a bad premonition suddenly arose in her heart…
“Tangtang, I’m going to the restroom.”
After saying this, Qiao Shuyi stood up and left the banquet hall.
She followed Sheng Mingwei’s back all the way forward, and soon saw her and Sheng Mingze walking together.
Worried about being discovered, Qiao Shuyi didn’t dare get too close and could only follow from afar.
The two of them turned and twisted, going further and further away, and the surroundings became quieter and quieter.
Just as Qiao Shuyi hesitated whether to continue following, a black figure suddenly walked out from another direction and stopped in front of Sheng Mingze.
Qiao Shuyi took a closer look and saw that it was a young woman wearing a hotel uniform.
The three of them seemed to be talking about something, but the distance was too far and Qiao Shuyi couldn’t hear a word.
But she clearly saw Sheng Mingze take something out of his bag and hand it to the waitress.
It was a very small object, and she couldn’t see what it was.
Seeing that the three of them were about to finish their conversation, Qiao Shuyi quickly slipped into a nearby room, took out her phone, and sent a message to Sheng Yu.
Qiao Shuyi: [Be careful of Sheng Mingze and his sister, and the staff around them.]
After their figures passed by, Qiao Shuyi carefully opened the door.
But as soon as the door opened, she was instantly terrified.
Sheng Mingze, who should have left, had returned at some point, and his sinister face was now in front of her, looking at her with a smirk.
“Sis, you attracted a rat.”
Sheng Mingwei walked out from behind him, put her arms around herself, and looked her up and down: “Isn’t this the little assistant by Sheng Tang’s side?”
“What did you see? What did you hear?” Sheng Mingze’s sinister gaze fixed on her.
Qiao Shuyi steadied her nerves, “I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
“Is that so?”
Sheng Mingze approached her step by step, and Qiao Shuyi retreated involuntarily.
Suddenly, the phone in her hand vibrated.
It was a call!
Qiao Shuyi quickly pressed the answer button.
