Chronicles of Young Lady in Ancient Times Chapter 2.1

Chapter 2

Sang Yin felt he had already made it clear enough. Although they were father and daughter, being too explicit about seduction was still beneath their dignity.

He thought Sang Yao would understand.

When Sang Yao heard this, her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Sang Yin. “…Huh?”

She had never thought in that direction. She thought she was just going to bring some tea. She really didn’t want to go and bring tea to Xie Yun. She didn’t even want to see Xie Yun. Why did her father want her to do this when there were servants for such tasks?

Seeing Sang Yao’s unwillingness, Sang Yin wasn’t surprised by her reaction. He scolded sternly, “Then what do you want to do? You don’t want this, you don’t want that. Do you think you’re still a child?”

“I’m not asking you to do anything improper. You don’t understand. I’m asking you to do this for your own good. Besides, look around the entire capital, is there a better choice than Xie Yun?”

Sang Yao furrowed her beautiful brows. “What are you talking about?”

Sang Yin waved his hand, not allowing any objections. “It’s settled!”

Sang Yin’s words were firm.

Firstly, Sang Yao’s unconventional appearance had made her marriage prospects difficult. While noble families sought suitable matches, Sang Yao had nothing to do with those expectations. Marrying into a lower-ranking family could lead to conflicts. Therefore, it was highly likely that Sang Yao would become a concubine in a high-ranking family or a side consort of the royal family in the future.

In light of this, considering the Xie family, as a top-tier aristocratic family, the Sang family couldn’t climb up, but being a concubine in the Xie family seemed to be a good option.

Moreover, the Xie family had strict rules and few underhanded methods. Xie Yun himself was upright and clean. It was said that he had no wife, concubines, or even a mistress, so Sang Yao wouldn’t be bullied there.

Secondly, because he had no expectations of Sang Yao, he simply wanted to try his luck since she happened to be here today.

He was familiar with Sang Yao’s character. She was simple-minded, loved to daydream, and was usually clueless even when bullied.

With her, she always thought she was very clever, but in fact, her every thought was written on her face.

If such a person could control Xie Yun with her beauty, that would be surprising.

But then again, what if a blind cat catches a dead mouse?

Anyway, there is no other way at the moment. What if Xie Yun has seen too many artificially scheming women and finds Sang Yao, who is so pretty and clumsy, strangely cute?

Sang Yao didn’t know what was on Sang Yin’s mind.

Since childhood, she has been afraid of Sang Yin. The sense of oppression from her father made her dare not refuse directly.

She held her breath and struggled to start coquettishly: “Father, I… I dare not go.”

She pointed to the attendant beside her, “Let him go. You see, I am not from the Ministry of Justice. This is not appropriate.”

Sang Yin was furious and couldn’t help but click his tongue, about to get angry.

After a moment, Sang Yao walked along the quiet corridor with a tray in her hands.

She frowned, very unwilling.

She walked forward slowly, thinking about her father’s intentions.

Soon, Sang Yao came to a conclusion.

It seems that his father really wants to climb up the Xie family’s high branch. It’s not enough to just send a servant to serve tea casually. As the daughter of a minister, she can only show her father’s value by personally serving tea and water.

She was convinced of her own speculation.

But the problem is that she is not on the path of officialdom, so this kind of opportunity to get close to Xie’s family is useless to her. Moreover, why not let someone knock on the door?

Lost in thought, Sang Yao had already reached the door.

There was a faint sound of conversation inside, but she couldn’t hear it clearly. Sang Yao subconsciously raised her hand to knock on the door, but remembered her father’s instructions and put it down.

She took a deep breath, inexplicably nervous, and hesitated for a moment before gently pushing open the door.

The wooden door slowly opened, accompanied by a particularly obvious creaking sound.

The scene in the room came into view.

The solemn-faced attendant stood behind Xie Yun, and Sang Yao knew him. His name was Jinglian, and he had been with Xie Yun since childhood.

An old man in ragged clothes was kneeling on the ground, his eyes red and bloodshot.

Xie Yun, with his long legs crossed, sat calmly in front of the convicted man.

Their conversation was abruptly interrupted.

Obviously, it was not the right time for Sang Yao to come.

With the creaking sound, the three of them looked at Sang Yao at the same time.

The slender girl had a delicate and charming face, with a hint of blush, fair skin, slender waist, and graceful posture, balancing temptation and innocence just right.

For a while, the three of them had different expressions, and time seemed to be infinitely extended.

Before the conversation began, Jinglian had reminded Sang Yin as usual that it would be best not to let anyone disturb him unless it was necessary, and also said that there was no need to prepare anything. But now, Sang Yin took the initiative to let people in.

It was just a pretext for sending tea, but the seductive woman’s intentions were simply too obvious.

But Sang Yao didn’t know what her appearance implied. Being stared at by them like this made her feel very uncomfortable.

She stuttered, “Gentlemen…”

During the conversation, she couldn’t help but look at Xie Yun, the man frowned slightly, obviously very displeased with her sudden intrusion.

Sang Yao’s voice choked up.

Xie Yun did not get up, but looked her up and down, then asked in a rather cold tone, “Do you have something to say?”

The cool breeze blowing in from the corridor behind the door invaded Sang Yao’s back, relieving some of the heat on her face and making her slightly more sober.

She suppressed her emotions, then in this somewhat strange atmosphere, she walked forward with a brave face, placed the tray on the round table beside Xie Yun, and bowed her head softly, saying, “Please enjoy the tea.”

The girl’s voice was soft, always making people involuntarily soften their hearts. As she bent over, her skirt touched the ground, and the delicate and charming thin gauze brushed against Xie Yun’s black boots, like a lover’s caress.

Her skin was snow-white, her slender neck exposed, and a fragrant scent emanated from her.

Without speaking, she was seductive everywhere.

A dry, repetitive trick.

Xie Yun’s face showed no emotion, but anyone familiar with him could easily see his annoyance.

After placing the tray, just as Sang Yao was silently debating whether to pour Xie Yun a cup of tea, a light cough came from behind Xie Yun in the room.

Sang Yao looked at the attendant.

She remembered him, his name was Jinglian, and he had been with Xie Yun since childhood. She had spoken to him a few times before.

Jinglian seemed to sense her nervousness and gently intervened, “Miss Sang is thoughtful. I can take care of the rest.”

Sang Yao was delighted, but before she could respond, the prisoner kneeling in front of Xie Yun seemed impatient, his voice hoarse as he continued, “That case really has nothing to do with me. At that time, I was misled by others and had no intention of betraying the adults.”

Sang Yao was stunned.

The more the man spoke, the more excited he became. He raised his head, his breathing rapid, his face covered in blood.
